If this is the case, people need to readjust their priorities. In MN at least, aren't most kids just focused on making their HS team and getting to state? Sad if kids are only playing so they can get scholarship money for college, but I don't think that's the case. Sorry if I missed the point. Could maybe see this is this case for some of the ridiculous travel youth teams or aaa high school teams that have kids from across the country, but that would probably be a good thing IMO.

+1000 for having offensive players returning punts and kicks.

UND Provost DiLorenzo to Retire June 1, 2020

I think I remember seeing complaints about him while Kelley was here - almost 100% sure. Why does everyone hate the guy so much? Don't really know anything about him, or the influence that he has on the school or decision making processes. -
Letting the Ralph control the revenue generated from UND athletics, and the Herald for Villainizing Kennedy for his efforts to renegotiation the contract.

Agreed. The most annoying thing for me is that puck carriers have zero responsibility to protect themselves. From someone who grew up playing, the new rules make hockey difficult to watch.. open ice hits are pretty much illegal now. BORING! Maybe I'm biased because I'm Grimaldi's size, and would have benefited from the current rules when I played, but players these days just seem so soft. When I played, you were 100% going to get head hunted if you had your head down, and I've been steamrolled more than I'd like to admit, but I never stayed down on the ice like todays players do. If you're not hurt, get the frick up. It's just embarrassing.

Considering what they have to deal with in their locker room situation, completely disagree. NVM. Rudolph's play calling was by far the biggest bust.

I directly quoted you. Never disputed that. College hockey tv ratings are terrible, though. The NCHC is most likely paying CBS to air these games if anything. Again, its a non factor, but a team like Mankato would draw the same or better than many teams already in the conference. Media market only matters with big time negotiations, such as when the big ten network gets added to cable packages in certain regions due to local university conference affiliations. And if people in a big market don't watch, it doesnt matter how many people live there.
-
CBS Sports is a non factor. They don't pay the NCHC.
-
SiouxVolley, I think you're wrong on this one. Mankato has the 15th best attendance in the country - that's better than half of the NCHC. Mankato hockey not that popular, relative to... what exactly? Tech which is averaging 3,065 at 68.6% capacity? Mankato is averaging 4,514 at 93.4% capacity. https://fanforum.uscho.com/showthread.php?116064-Average-Men-s-Attendance/page12&highlight=attendance

I think part of the issue was that it would be pretty much all Notre Dame games though, right? Not really a true league-wide contract like we have with CBS.

Did Tommy grow an inch?

UAA was an independent from 1988 to 1994. If they have to shut the program down, it's on them. Especially after they recently built a 110 million dollar basketball-only arena.

They are saying on ags that ndsu took some of the top rows in the student section away....

True. Smaller retail business is very competetive now. The good thing for them is that if the owners can get a handle on tech, social media can be a great source of free advertising, and they can sell online to supplement their storefront income. Of course there is tons of online competition now. Business savvy is prob more important now than ever.

Amazon is going to save America (huge stretch). Box stores are closing and small specialty shops are thriving in city centers. Edit: at least in places like Stillwater and white bear lake.

This thing is written like a bad VOX article, and the quality of evidenced based research is embarrassing. The section on social justice is comedic.

Who will the captains be?

Weah at 195, and being only 5-8, has gotta have some surprising power I'd think. As far as QB's go, I really hope they have the QB1 only play half of the Valpo game. If Tommy is QB1, it would be great for a guy like Vaugn to get game experience, either for the future, or if Tommy gets hurt at any point in the season. Same for if Vaugn is QB1, Tommy still needs more experience in case Vaugn were to go down. If the battle is tight between QB2 and QB3, let them each play a quarter. Our QB depth needs experience, and Valpo sucks. If the game is still close after half, the starter should be benched anyways.

I'm hoping they can work out a Betty style loan.

Love it. Great choice of questions as well. The Betty is now paid off as well, correct? Perhaps this could be great timing for the new Pres to meet Kris.

This sounds funny, but I don't know what the Oak Island voice is. Hopefully that isn't embarrassing to admit.

BIG bill would allow transfers with any year wait
nodak651 replied to SiouxVolley's topic in NCAA News
I think if the rules change on this, these schools shouldn't be able to drop a kids scholarship for athletic performance alone. Otherwise you're gonna see kids lose scholarships due to more transfer students coming in, and then the kids who lost their scholarship will then transfer and do the same to another kid, further compounding the issue. Not sure how THAT is good for the student athletes. Agree that it's BS that student's can't move as easily as their coaches, but I think their needs to be SOME disincentive to limit an abundance of transfers. -
Very well written and worth the money.... : "Public employees are not any gambling on their visits to Sin City — at least not with taxpayer money."

My group might have to back out due to pregnancies so I looked at listing them on stub hub, because ticket master isn't allowing resale for this event. From what I understand, ticket master does not release the tickets until right before the game, so that is why the availability is so close to game day, and it is also why they are mobile only. When someone buys tickets for these games on stub hub, the seller will have to transfer the tickets from ticket master once they are released. I do not believe there is any way around this no matter what website you look to buy the tickets from.

If memorial is bulldozed and UND football is in the Hyslop, they will need phase two to be built before the Hyslop/Stem renovation is started, correct? I feel like now they will be in a much better position to get public funding for this, if that is correct. Now Phase II money is really money for academics... or at least it could be argued.
