  1. Can you elaborate on what specifically you think he should be doing?
  2. Alerus Center negotiations with Spectra hit snag over potential Fargodome conflicts
  3. As of 2015, yes, according to this herald article. It's an interesting read. Of the 14 suites in the upper level of the Alerus Center, 11 are rented through yearly contracts 2010 - 8 rented 2012 - less than half rented 2015 - first year all were rented Average suite prices at the Alerus Center: 2010: $20,502 2011: $19,399 2012: $17,453 2013: $12,550 2014: $13,317 2015: $14,467
  4. It doesn't matter whether or not "we" would want to sit there. We care more about the football game than socializing. We are die hard fans. If UND football continues on it's current trajectory, something like this could be very appealing to those who view the games more as a socializing event. The cabana area, much like the bars at the Ralph, would have !@#$ views, but if there were to be free flowing booze and other perks, I could see them being very popular for the right group people. It would add revenue, and probably get new people into the building. Despite the fact that there is a terrible view for football lovers, patrons of UCF football are willing to pay 20K a year for, otherwise, unused space.
  5. Oh, duh, thanks. There is a forklift in the picture I posted. Anyways, perhaps there is room to recess the cabanas into there to save room behind the end zone. Problem is they would have to be set up and taken down, vs at UCF, they probably leave them out all year.
  6. Sorry I'm bored and it's the off season.
  7. Anyone think something like this could eventually be added to the Alerus? http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/ucf-cabanas-watch-game-end-zone/story?id=45040315 UCF to have cabanas to watch game behind end zone In recent years, football teams have built and sold on-field suites behind the teams on the sidelines, but never have suites been sold behind the end zones. Enter UCF, which is selling suites filled with furniture and inclusive of food, for $22,000 each for the 2017 season. The school began marketing the suites this past season and has already sold out half the suites, which include tickets and parking passes for 12 people per game. The suites also come with inside access to a high-end area where bathrooms are located and additional food and drink will be sold. "We had a waiting list for suites and we sold out of club seats and that led us to do a new club area last year," said Andy Seeley, an associate athletics director at the school. "But there was future interest from our market in more premium space, so we created more." Seeley said all nine suites sold out in the south end zone, so the school decided to build nine suites in the north end zone. While the mockup designs look like the cabanas are right on top of the end line of the end zone, Seeley said they are well behind where the photographers stand, they are padded and have passed all safety requirements. Not sure if there is enough room, but maybe the garage doors could be opened. I think its a ballroom behind there? And anyone know what the Alerus Center suit sales are like and who gets the money?
  8. Nice looking home slate I suppose. 4 home d1 games vs 5 the last two years. Not the end of the world. OOC schedule will be exciting.
  9. "Airport officials cited a declining Canadian dollar and federal subsidies for essential air service directed to regional airports in Devils Lake and Thief River Falls, Minn., as reasons for decline in Grand Forks. Devils Lake has seen more boardings in the last year since offering direct flights to Denver, and Thief River Falls had a similar boost when it started regular flights to the Twin Cities." I believe Trumps newly proposed budget completely guts the Essential Air Service subsidies. The federal government subsidizes the airlines by something like $250 million per year to fly out of smaller airports. (source) Assuming congress follows through with this specific part of the new tax proposal, direct flights out of Devil's Lake and Thief River, that the GFH article addresses, will likely go away. I think this would help the Grand Forks airport, and coincidentally, Amtrak, which the government also over funds. Come to think of it, he probably want's to cut Amtrak funding as well, but I haven't read anything on it yet. Either way, let the free market work.
  10. Based on that map, I'd start a new conference with: UND, NDSU USD, SDSU Montana, Montana State Idaho, EWU UNO, DU Idaho State, Weber or Portland State, Seattle or both

  12. Who is going to set up the bus from the twin cities to grand forks for und home games?
  13. I'll be on the bus from the Twin Cities. Let me know when it's set up.
  14. "Other scheduled Fighting Hawks' programming includes the UND Sports Today daily show providing fans a brief update on all campus sports." Does this currently air or is this new?
  15. Did you quote the wrong person? That has nothing to do with what I said.
  16. I just did. Their facilities lag behind what others in their CURRENT conference already have. They failed with their last fundraising effort, so they are going to set sights a little bit lower and do what they can to improve their high school football field. Your obsession with trying to predict the next FBS moves has really hampered any semblance of reason that you may have ever had. They are enlisting the help of the Phoenix Philanthropy Group because they have already shown that they have little ability to fund raise or plan without help.
  17. Everyone is always fundraising, and their stadium sucks.
  18. Yeah, I like this concept as well. People who want good spots will need to get there sooner in order to be where they want. Theoretically, more people would adjust their plans to get to the lot earlier, and the overall tailgating experience would get better. More people tailgating early, and closer to other people = more fun for a longer period of time. Makes sense to me.
  19. They need to somehow mix the students in with the other tailgaters better. It's been a problem for a long time. Put them up front or something. In the current setup, it really feels like students are an afterthought.
  20. The stitching on the Adidas one in the picture is different than the hats in the stores. The stitching on the one I posted is not raised, so the white part of the logo doesn't have the weird stitching lines in it.
  21. Here's the hat that looks good, but nobody can buy.
  22. Anyone upset with the lack of availability of UND Football apparel? They only sell like 3 shirts and they all look like ass because they have football helmets, football players, or footballs on them. People will say there would be more options if there was more demand, but the options have sucked for years, hence why I, and I'm sure many others, have not bought football gear. They finally started selling UND bucket hats, like what Bubba wears, but they are the wrong color! They sell replica football jerseys, but from the doom Muss years! I finally saw a UND Football hat that I liked when I was at a game this past fall - I asked the guy where he got it, and he said he got it from someone he knew that was affiliated with the program. It would sure be great to have Adidas team gear available to the public, like the hockey team has. Does anyone know who in the staff directory I can send hate mail to contact to express feedback? http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=3743113 Look at this garbage....
