Ranking sports on University campuses across the country is irrelevant to any decisions that should be made at UND. How does Duke basketball being on TV benefit the basketball program here? (it doesn't). UND hockey and the NCHC, rather than the Big Sky, has a contract with CBS Sports Network for a reason. The ASU program is two years old, has no success yet, and they still play in a high school arena in the desert. Wouldn't doubt that they don't have a lot of support. The funny thing is (as much as I like UND basketball) the ASU hockey team already has 11.7K twitter followers, compared to 3.2K for UND basketball. Which is a black hole?

Mens/Womens swimming and diving has close to a million dollar budget. Wouldn't have to worry about title 9 and they could close the hyslop swimming pool. It would be funny if he didn't cut anything again (not really).

The remaining WAC schools, of course. Then we will use the WAC name to move up to FBS.

This. More money to pay for a new basketball coach and perhaps to pay for some home d1 basketball games, and more money for the assistant football coaches is badly needed. Instead it's going to softball and swimming and golf.

Jones is not coming back. He would have given Jones an extension if that was the case. He doesn't want to waster money on a buy out, and that is the only reason Jones is still here.

We are lacking typical off season threads, so here it is. Who on this team has the best chance or potential to play in the nfl or get drafted? Reyes, Harris, Santiago, Oliveira, Johannesson, Georges? Anybody else? Does Ratelle still have a shot? The Utah game can't come soon enough..

I fail to see how there is any problem at CC. They have a !@#$ team, yet consistently drawk 6-7 k plus fans. They are 4th in the country so far this year in attendance. I kind of think that the location of 1st bank arena would be a positive, as the arena would be more accessible to Colorado alumni and the big population base of Denver. Not sure how many students would go to the games anyway. DU and CC draw well(ish), but students aren't really a huge factor. Pic below is what BYU's arena looked like during the Olympics, before they took the stands out. Anyone aware if they built anything permenent where the stands used to be? It looks like there is a wall behind the player's benches now. Do people in Utah even care about hockey though?

I sure hope he could come in and be the #1 guy. IMO, he would need to be head and shoulders above Studsrud, otherwise there would be a huge QB controversy the first time the kid plays an off game, and that is never good for a team. Studsrud has shown that he can get the job done, but I agree that this is an area that we could improve.

It also doesn't have a single sports tenant, unless you count roller derby.

Doubt it. That is probably the thinnest position we have.
