  1. I dont know that they are particularly great seats. Probably solid though....not like it is a big enough stadium to have awful seats. To each their own.
  2. It'll be tough. Bought 2 season tickets...plus 4 extra for the Bison game which was priced at double the other games. So thats an extra $160 for the Bison game alone...if you take the Bison tickets out of the equation because those would have been purchased anyway, then he should be able to get a small profit.
  3. Papabear wanted to get good seats....and will sell the Non-NDSU tickets probably pretty easily. I believe the game is sold out as well.
  4. Hope thats not the case. Got Jackrabbit season tickets this year so we could have good seats to watch the Herd keep the Marker...again.
  5. Probably not 75, but pretty close. It was impressive Notre Dame still has the best one. Are you implying that the "Scream Yellow" campaign wasn't NDSU's best marketing ploy ever???! /sarcasm
  6. I cheer for the gophs in general as long as they aren't playing the Bison. I understand why you wouldn't feel the same. Ho! A cheer for green and yellow.....up with yellow and the green....their the shades that deck our prairies....far and wide with glorious sheen. Don't remind us.
  7. If NDSU had some NDAC swag I could buy at scheels, no doubt I'd rock that stuff regularly.
  8. Would the University of Minnesota have beaten around half of the FBS that year? Probably somewhere around that. Losses to most of the BCS teams, wins against most of the lesser FBS schools. NDSU's 9-5 squad had 9 wins against FCS/FBS teams. UND's 2011 featured how many D-I wins?
  9. What is your definition of average if a 6-6 regular season isn't it?
  10. How exactly does that work? I mean...if he blew above the legal limit, and was arrested...why would they drop the charges? Im not bashing or anything. Just don't understand what the situation was.
  11. Central Michigan was solid the year NDSU beat them by 30. and held them to 3. Some teams play defense darell. Plus NDSU's offense that year was mediocre at best.
  12. Power running and defense is the only formula for winning football that has always worked. Should only ever throw the football to keep the defense honest.
  13. Power offense can work in the Big 12. B1G, less likely for NDSU to have success.
  14. In all honesty I dont know if even Lakes would make that claim hehe
  15. I won't crap on UND for not making the playoffs. Took NDSU a couple tries to get it right so it wouldn't seem fair to hate. That said, SDSU made it before NDSU did and well....no big deal. I will poke fun at the conference UND is in as a result of SHSU winning the Big Sky title the past couple seasons.
  16. Seen it. Understand both sides of the coin, no pun intended. I am fine with how things are. Supercharged meetings in the playoffs are fine by me for now.
  17. Feel free to go back to '03. Would be interesting. He also stuck to football and hockey yes? You included softball. Honestly, I wouldn't get too worked up for either NDSU or UND about MIP's. From what papabear tells me, MIP's in the 70's and 80's were tough to get. Now....different story.
  18. Yep. Been to a DIVISION ONE HOCKEY GAME in Colorado Springs. Air Force vs. Mankato. Half empty arena. A.) Show me where anyone said NDSU gets 10,000 at every away game. B.) Watch the FCS title game....probably 13-15,000 of those were Bison fans....15 hours from Fargo. 3 hours from enemy territory. Essentially an away game.
  19. You seemed to imply that hockey is a bigger sport than American football. If that was not your intention, then my bad. If UND hockey is bigger than any other program in the state....when was the last time 10-15,000 UND fans travelled 15 hours to go see a game?
  20. I'll try digging up the numbers again. Believe I found a stat that had more Americans playing high school football than registered hockey players in the world. EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_hockey#Number_of_registered_players_by_country 32 of 72 countries with hockey federations have more than 1,000 players. The top 32 total about 1.5 million players worldwide. http://www.justanswer.com/general/6c9gc-kids-play-football-america-highschool-dow.html This one is less reliable. But I'm looking around. One estimate has 1.1 million playing high school football, with youth football added, he has it around 5 or 6 million. Who knows. Someone else may be able to find a more accurate number. What appears to be certain however, is that football has significantly more players worldwide than hockey.
  21. Not to be skeptical, but as someone who grew up and went to school in Jamestown, I've heard that kind of optimism for nearly all of our sports at one time or another....Generally football, boy's basketball, and volleyball, hockey once or twice even. Hope this time it is true. Would be nice for Jamestown to see some quality athletic success for a change.
  22. Alabama is not going to put up 100 on all FCS teams. They beat Georgia Southern by 25 a couple years ago though. Believe it or not, Heck, the year Michigan lost to Appy, they beat Florida in...the Gator Bowl I believe. In 2010 when JMU beat Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech made it to a BCS bowl. Its not as if good FCS teams can't beat good FBS teams. Most of the time, they will lose. Often times they will lose bad. But it happens.
  23. So because a billionaire former-athlete built UND a beautiful hockey arena, that alone makes it the big cheese?
