I can tell you that my freshman year at NDSU they tried getting us to do some new cheers and stuff. Failed miserably.

Don't know anyone proud or happy we are playing a D2. Moreso relieved to have filled the Montana State game.

I'm not super into hockey. I follow it enough to know who some of the big name guys are. Thought it was weird right away when I saw he left that much money on the table but after looking a little into it, seems like he is going to just play in Russia and be similarly compensated for his work? Thoughts?

Tell ya what, I was raised to see the football team here in Fargo as something special and all that. I have never been in any real trouble other than I got a minor. Its the summer, good time for good natured ribbing. I will counter with...when NDSU goes on runs, our guys tend to win multiple titles.

Since when has UND had a premier program? I am pretty sure they haven't won anything in years.... Fun fact. If NDSU cut football, and UND continues winning national championships at their current rate, it'd be over 900 years before UND finally caught up to NDSU in football championships.

UND and premier don't belong in the same sentence buddy. Wasn't the Taliban still in power the last time UND won anything?

Tough to call a team winning championships a mess. Now...a team who cant get students or fans to show up....regularly gets embarrassed...that is a mess.

Sorry buddy, don't tell me for one minute you wouldn't gladly take a little off the field trouble in exchange for 10 national championships.

Because there are such things as outliers. They are rare but they happen. They have very little value in the overall scheme of things though.

You would have done poorly in statistics I presume.

Don't care about the women's game with how bad our team is, but if there was a saturday double header, I'd make my way up to El Forko.

Like others have stated, those schools do offer great academics and the "prestige" of being D-I. That said, obviously, the good DII schools can and will beat them. I see your train of thought. Either good or bad, as we now know, the DII wins now count at the very least somewhat. Some folks in the past, (i actually believe this), that states are members of a voluntary organization. Some states tried to leave, the others fought them and won. I think it will be hard for the elite schools to leave. Because at the end of the day, they need to small schools to some extent. I think they'll manage to leave if they want, or will manage to get their way for the most part. Whats important to me is that schools like NDSU, Montana, Appy, Ga So., JMU,, etc, and as much as it breaks my heart, schools like UND manage to find themselves in the right division(2nd from the top, or top if completely necessary) to be successful.

I met Kelley(too many people mispell his name) at an ROTC function when I was in the program. Believe it or not, NDSU and UND have very closely knit ROTC programs. Same commander, same teachers, etc. Seemed like a nice guy. I'm sure he has UND's best interests in mind. People are probably too hard on the presidents. I doubt anyone who posts here hasn't made a mistake at work. When these guys make mistakes...it ends up in the papers and on forums like SS.com and BV.

Yes. The game should be pretty dang full. People wanna see the banner raising and all that. Absolutely nothing. But I can't imagine my out of towners showing up.

I'll bet UND getes about 8-9 for the Valpo game. Thursday nights are not conducive for good crowds.

Well, if thats the case, then I look forward to going to see Bozeman. Last time SU went there....and beat the living snot out of a Big Sky champ, I couldn't make it. Won't even dignify the Grand Forks statement with a response!

Looking more forward to the conference slate as well as the home playoff games we are very likely to get. Really is too bad we are getting a D-II game but one would be willing to bet Montana State will be seeded lower than NDSU...and could be making that trip to Fargo that they wanted to avoid.
