My thoughts exactly 82; but with Boise and SDSU playing football in the Big East who really knows what could happen these days. My initial fear was them making a play for the Montanas. If I were a president at one of these top FCS schools I would sit tight for now and wait and see what the four major conferences are doing because it really looks like they are trying to break away from everyone else.

This is great for me! Getting to places like GF or Devils Lake in the past has been a 20 hour drive or flying into Minneapolis. I will certainly use this service a couple times per year!

Grand Forks does indeed love a winner. I was at the Northern Colorado game last season and there was a good amount of UND fans. Many who traveled from Nodak but also a large number of alums like me who live down here (also dragged some non-alums with who weren't familiar with FCS (CU and CSU fans); they left the game impressed with the talent level because they thought it was D2) Especially going forward UND will get a good crowd at places like UNC because of the large amount of Alums in the Denver metro area. Montanas should draw well too. I have said it before but the Big Sky was the best conference possible for us and I am STOKED for this season!

Why do you do this?. I know you saw my post a couple days ago challenging you not to post anything on this forum for a week. You love UND so much that you just can't stay away for more than a couple days. Very sad and comical at the same time. I think it was pure speculation but I have to assume that season ticket sales have jumped a little bit and no idea of what the usual season ticket holder count is. Since I live in Colorado I wouldn't buy season tickets but I know I will be flying up for the Montana game (and some hunting). Then road trip to Bozeman and short drive to Northern Colorado. I have to assume that attendance will jump whether it is season tickets or general admission. Other than the UND sports site has there been a big marketing push up there for season tickets and UND Football in general? (billboards, radio, tv)

That would be absolutely ideal! Play the Big Sky conference games, and maybe a playoff of some sort or bowl games; at this point they type of playoff doesn't matter. If you look at the finances in the USA Today article posted below you will see that most Big Sky teams are right in the middle of the pack. It is not far fetched to think we can compete with teams like Colorado State and Wyoming down the road. It was a bad metaphor on my part. I just wanted to point out that many people on here want to drop the name because it is not in the best interest of the institution as a whole to keep the name anymore. I am not speaking for everyone, just my observations.

I for one am really excited to see what they come up with in regards to the black home jerseys. I think they did a great job with hockey and basketball. I also do like the look of our away white uniforms because the green helmets with the clean white jerseys looks really sharp. The looming question I have is if we do get black home jerseys would we use the green helmets? Also would we still have green jerseys?(black helmets with white unis just wouldn't look right)

There is no "kill the name" it is more like do what is best for the University as a whole type crowd. People who want to get rid of the name because it is hostile and abusive generally don't post here so you are really preaching to the wrong crowd. Keeping the name is such a losing battle in which we will not like the outcome, whatever it is. A good example: After WW2 the remaining Japanese generals and admirals were asked why they didn't invade mainland America after Pearl Harbor, when we were at our very weakest point. They said that they did not invade because they knew it would have been a losing battle from the very beginning because almost every adult American had a gun and knew how to use it. Point is they knew that going down that route was an absolute suicide mission. Keeping the name for whatever reason at this point is an absolute suicide mission because this is just the beginning. We do not hold very many firearms in this fight and our ammunition stores are rapidly depleting.
