I think the mines game can be a looked at as a "work the kinks out" type of game before we enter a very tough schedule. Not happy about the non D1 aspect but it is what it is. Just win one game at a time. Interesting, I have been watching on FCS all year through Directv. I thought only directv carried FCS but there is always the webcast I guess. Thanks for the info.

That was a good find, thanks for the article. I don't see SDSU or BSU ever stepping foot in the BE (especially since Memphis and Temple are the new recruits) Makes no sense for them now. Only time will tell I guess.

Agreed, they also have an extremely low athletic budget (15 - 16M / year) which is not very appealing. For comparison purposes only UND outspends them by a couple million.

I am hopeful and very optimistic that you are 100% correct as I have been going through the schedule and thinking about the possibilities. This is the most excited I have ever been for an upcoming football season. True fans will still support the institution. I was there in a Sioux jersey and I am for dropping the name (because of the current situation) but even if we drop the name I will still wear my Sioux jersey. The ncaa does not give a crap what you wear to the game so I say keep wearing the jerseys. They do care what we are known as. What we are currently known as is leading us down a road we do NOT want to take as an institution. My point is true UND fans like me who live down here will still be going to the games and true UND fans will still be traveling to the games. Nothing on that front will change.

Agreed. Also, one less quality ooc game to worry about each year for both teams because you know either team wouldn't back out once it is on the books.

No it is not that simple. I used to be all for the name, but I now realize that if UND keeps the name insurmountable damages will be done to the athletic department as a whole. My decisions as an alumnus are for the betterment of UND as a whole, not for some name that we can all agree is pretty cool. So count me in as against the name but a lot of thought and research has gone into my stance whereas you are a clear fanatic who would take down anything and anyone to get what you want. Also, your arguments sound like you have only an elementary school education.

Every other year would be great and both schools will not have to worry about paying for the game or having one of the teams back out. It is time!

It would be a great addition and use of the AL in the spring! Every now and again I will catch a Colorado Mammoth game. Did you know slashing and cross checking are completely legal? Makes for a good time (beer also helps).
