I'm not sure where the money is coming from but a moot point to me because new turf was long overdue. Don't you guys still use the astro turf? Has there been talk about NDSU getting better turf?

I think the new coach will be a boost but when we played them this year both teams were horrible at times throughout the game, albeit the best comeback I have seen in years on our part. They will do fine but they have a lot of work ahead of them to play on the same level as NDSU and UNI IMHO.

As it sits it is a very solid conference and it will continue down that path. If schools like Utah, Kansas, or Boise State add hockey what conference do you think they would look to? There have been talks from these camps in the past and that is how these programs come to be, along with money. I also have connections at DU and they are EXTREMELY happy with the new conference and who is in it at this point. Quite honestly I don't think you are as knowledgeable as you think you are on this subject. Keep trying.

If that was indeed the case they would have stayed in the WCHA instead of being part of the initial teams that compile the new NCHC; lead by UND. Stop prying please.

I cant say for certain if it is UND or Native American in general related; I just know that they will not schedule us.

CMU is a FBS school in the MAC and they are not under sanctions. We are so that is why we have problems now. What don't you understand and what are you trying to get at?

Oh Dan we will play again. As of right now who gives a !@$! who was right and wrong. For now we have our own battles and issues to deal with right now. Once we move on we can then start pointing fingers again until arthritis sets in.

My degree reads University of North Dakota as well. Just like most here I love the name, but it is far beyond that. It is about doing right by the institution as a whole; what is best for the long run. I was born, raised, and educated in North Dakota so believe me when I tell you that I am not happy about having to say that is is time to move on. I may not live there now, but I am still a fan and follower of the University; which is far more than a name and logo. Please try to wrap your mind around that.

Not too long after UND announced the Big Sky the conference came out with the new conference schedules. There was an article on the BSC website and in the GF Herald explaining the rivals and conference champion formula. I do not remember the specifics but your explanation it definitely pointed in the right direction. Check the archives on those sites if you want to know exactly.

I would be willing to bet that the intensity of these M and M State games will pick up rather quickly.

Do you honestly think they will back down to a little school in North Dakota? To my point- Minnesota will not schedule us either if we are still on sanctions; that is a cold hard fact. If we can't play them in non-conference that will hurt us in the long run. Also, prior to us going back to Fighting Sioux Faison or Hak was on record saying they were working with Minnesota to get them on future schedules. That has since stopped.

You don't seem to understand that this is about athletics as a whole. You also don't seem to understand collegiate scheduling in that schedules aren't done by the ncaa; they are done by individual institutions using their connections and ties. UND Hockey will be negatively affected by these sanctions even if ncaa hockey playoffs are at off-site locations. Recruiting will suffer in the long run as well. You need to think about the long run here and not be so short-sighted.
