  1. The hockey program does what it does very well and there are high standards each and every season. I just wish the rest of our programs would follow suit. And, like you, I believe our fan base tolerates way too much crap. My earlier post was a response to the idea that we should just accept mediocrity in all non-hockey programs and that is 100% unacceptable. And I agree with you, the standards and expectations around here are not even close to what they used to be and need to be. And, like I have pointed out many times before, that has to change. Or else moving up to Division I was a waste of time, energy and resources. Just like the whole nickname search fiasco has been. And that points to a lack of leadership at the top. Which is why the next President of UND needs to have a vision for excellence in all that we do here.
  2. He's not on the hockey team, so he doesn't count, remember?
  3. Then we should never have moved up in the first place. You are accepting and embracing mediocrity. I will not do that. And neither will a lot of other people on this forum. I suppose you have the same low standards for Men's and Women's Basketball too? Being Division I just for the sake of being Division I is a waste of time, energy and resources. I have never liked it when other schools moved up just for the Division I label and I will not stand for UND accepting mediocrity as the norm as long as I am on this planet. And this idea that athletics is a zero sum game (one revenue sport that wins and everything else has to be garbage) has to stop being promoted as fact. It is a falsehood. You conveniently left out Florida, which has won national titles in both basketball and football in recent years. But that would have ruined your argument, so I understand why you left it out. And UConn has won national titles in both Men's and Women's Basketball in the same year! Based on your hypothesis, the men's team at UConn should always suck. You can accept perennial mediocrity in FB and whatever else if you wish, I shall not. End Rant. In Bubba We Trust.
  4. As a critic of Mollberg, I think it is time to give him a look. Studsrud is injured, Bartles is ineffective and we don't want to pull redshirts off of guys if we can help it. So it falls to Mollberg.
  5. I agree with you. But, aren't we always being told that "You can't blame the kid for doing what is best for him, so stop complaining about it"? Well, sometimes you CAN blame the kid and this punk should be ashamed of himself. A pox on your house, son.
  6. Well done, dakotadan, well done!
  7. Amen x 1000!!! Well said and well done! What a great first post on this forum!
  8. And this is the reason Kelley changed the rules to allow 3 names in the run-off instead of 2. He wants Fighting Hawks.
  9. There is a clear generation gap between fans who have been in both buildings and fans who have only experienced the new REA and can't imagine anything else. Well stated.
  10. Saying that a relatively new coaching staff which took over an absolute train wreck of a program less than two years ago needs more patience is now equivalent to drinking Kool-Aid? And people think I exaggerate on this forum. If we are still struggling with the same issues in 2017, then I will be concerned. But it's way, way too early to form any judgments about the long-term prospects of this coaching staff.
  11. ROFL, Taz Boy, you haven't changed at all since the 1990's! You still know how to have fun with just about anything.
  12. And some people totally miss the original point someone was trying to make. And, in the process, prove the original point right without the author of the original point having to say another word about it.
  13. Please don't give Kelley any bright ideas.
  14. Isn't that one of the main functions of a message board?
  15. It is obvious that some of our fans think any criticism of the new REA is just not justified no matter how true it is. That is considered blasphemy on this forum.
  16. I think a lot of school districts allow it.
  17. Enough of the SIU rhetoric, you are sounding like the NDSU trolls. Lennon is in charge at SIU, Bubba was the defensive coordinator. Lennon had the final say in all matters, not Bubba. Maybe Bubba didn't have enough of the right talent to execute his scheme the way he wanted to? This is a different recruiting footprint than SIU and the kind of kids we go after will be different. Your comparison isn't really apples to apples.
  18. Bubba is still cleaning house from the Mussman regime. Also, you have guys like Chris Brown, who quit when he lost his starting job. Those things take a toll on depth.
  19. When Bubba gets his own kids in here (it will probably take two recruiting classes), then I think the bleeding will stop.
  20. The team is so short on players that Bubba has to pull the redshirts. I am sure he doesn't like doing it, but the previous regime damaged the program to the point where it is almost like starting over from scratch.
  21. This is what I have been saying all year. 100% spot on.
  22. It's a fact and I would have been happier to have ZERO consultants; I think we could have managed this better ourselves.
  23. Because when you are paying a consultant lots of money, you have to pretend that Fighting Hawks fits the original criteria so the expenditure can be justified.
