  1. Never is a very long time, my friend.
  2. I would point to the early 2000's as an example of how Bison football is not immune to the occasional down periods. UND hockey was down in the early 1990's. And in both cases, changes were made at the top.
  3. Nothing lasts forever. Just look at the Atlanta Braves in MLB.
  4. Never saw this coming. But knowing this team, they'll slide back to being bad before long.
  5. Maybe this coach should have applied for the Army coaching job? Or VMI? The kind of athletes Texas will recruit and sign are athletes who usually are holding multiple scholarship offers in their hands. If you go all boot camp like this, you risk losing athletes to rival schools. And in FBS, if you don't win, at some point you will be fired. Having a bunch of 4.0 GPA's or community service work will not prevent that from happening.
  6. But don't you understand? NDSU is a big-time intercollegiate sports campus now! They are now in the same league as Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon and USC! I'd like them to schedule a football game vs. Alabama so they can get a painful reminder of just how small-time they really are outside of our region.
  7. Are you saying you can get NBC programming that our local affiliate is not carrying? Please tell us more.
  8. That is the point I was making earlier. We don't know until we all know.
  9. Good point. But I will believe Grady is done for good when I hear it from Bubba himself.
  10. Thus my question "What the heck do you know?". I get tired of these rumors being spread on this discussion forum without any idea where the info came from.
  11. What the heck do you know? Don't make comments if you can't or won't back them up.
  12. Are you living in the 20th century? Social media is a big-time thing in our society and lots of people get their news and information from social media platforms. Cutting access to social media is a bad idea, along with this entire policy.
  13. I give up. You are convinced that less exposure is somehow better. I am calling bullcrap on that.
  14. So you don't care what kind of coverage our teams get? That is really short-sighted, just like this asinine policy from FU. And no, it was not "inevitable", it is the product of bloated, oversized egos at a mid-major Division I institution which is acting like they are already in the Big 12 and are the center of the collegiate sports universe (neither of those things are true). Limiting exposure of your product is just plain stupid and it alienates your biggest boosters and most loyal fans; two groups any university dares not alienate. Except for FU of course. I should be enjoying this, but I am not, because it could happen in Grand Forks too. What if coverage of UND hockey was limited to the holders of the broadcast rights and everyone else was banned? Does that sound like a good idea to you? Is it "inevitable"? I say no.
  15. If you think this is such a great idea, why don't you write Kennedy and Faison and suggest they do this in Grand Forks as well?
  16. Great minds think alike!
  17. Translation: If it ain't men's hockey, it don't matter.
  18. Maybe we'll get some FBS money games out of it too.
  19. Time to clean house and start over from scratch. Bring in an outsider for GM and let him shape the organization however he wishes. This "Twins Way" crap doesn't work anymore. The Twins are running a Major League franchise like it's a minor league team. That has to change.
  20. We were talking about the 1990's, not all-time records. But feel free to move the goalposts whenever it suits you.
  21. You are right, people are acting like cake-eaters here. Let us remember when we didn't have a $104 million arena and the kind of television exposure we have now and were all worried about what a B1G hockey conference would do to us. Programs like MSU-Mankato are important for the overall health of the sport. There are 60 teams right now; we don't want to start losing them to attrition because programs like ours are acting like cake-eating elitists.
  22. Obviously, you don't want to talk about the head-to-head records. Not that I blame you.
  23. Having St. Cloud in our conference right now makes this argument ring hollow.
