  1. That MacWilliam penalty was a horrible call. Refs did not even see it. They may have caught it out of the corner of their eye, but totally made a reaction call on how the guy was selling it. Funny how Shephard is commenting on this article and he is guilty of calling these bull s#%& dives 5 minute majors all the time!!
  2. Just read that the ice can hold up in temperatures up to 70 degrees!! Looks like the forecast for Omaha should be mid 40's and sunny. Should be a great day for an outdoor game. And, it doesn't look like we have to worry about the ice being an issue due to the warm weather.
  3. I' be there!! Got a group of us driving down. Anyone here of any pregame festivities anywhere??
  4. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/255112/group/Sports/ As good of a season Corban Knight is having, I think he can pretty much wave by bye to any chance of winning the Hobey Baker this year thanks to his actions with the team earlier this year Unfortunate, because he is a great player on the ice and from what I hear, a great guy off the ice as well. Sure he made a mistake and no doubt feels really bad about it. The fans can vote him into the Hobey Hat Trick, but I doubt the selection committee will give it to Knight after being charged with a Class A Misdemeanor the month before!!
  5. If only there were a way to finally solve all these questions??!! Hmmm....let me think...oh yeah...PLAY THE GAME!!! If NDSU is so confident that they are going to beat UND and blow them out...then schedule the game!! UND want to schedule the game and NDSU does not. Perception is NDSU is worried about losing to UND. Reality is there are logistical reasons why NDSU does not want to schedule this game. Perception often trumps reality in the mids of the general public!!
  6. How dare the Herald print those pictures of the players involved!! They made them look like mug shots!!!
  7. Now imagine if these players were allowed to play and nothing was done to them. And then today we find out about it? Could you imagine what type of media firestorm that would create? Having players committing a crime and not being suspended immediately after it happened? And then having news outlets, University officials, and the public talking about how they weren't suspended, if they should be suspended, should they just wait for their day in court, etc, etc, etc!!! I wonder what that would have looked like?!!!
  8. http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pairwise-rankings/d-i-men/ Looking at the Latest Pairwise rankings, I looked at how future NCHC and Big 10 schools were doing this year. Here's what I found: 2. Minnesota (Big10) 7. W. Michigan (NCHC) 9. St. Cloud (NCHC) 10. N. Dakota (NCHC) 13. Denver (NCHC) t21. Neb. Omaha (NCHC) 23. Wisconsin (Big10) 24. Ohio St. (Big 10) Can someone explain to me how the Big 10 is going to be a better than the NCHC??!!
  9. OH MY GOD!!! I am so sick of hearing about how Furum Communications is in the tank for UND and is out to get NDSU. How they cover up stories that happen to UND athletes and continually reports on a story about NDSU players getting in trouble. How printing player profile pictures used in the game program in the Herald/Forum are some how supposed to be portrayed as mug shots. This is so pathetic!! Both stories in question were reported by the Herald/Forum. The reason why they were covered so differently is because of how each school handled each situation. Sure both were serious offences. One was handled swiftly and decisively. The other dragged their feet and did not punish the players and as a result, created the media scrutiny.
  10. You just used "Bison fans" and "intelligence" in the same sentance!! We forgive you!!
  11. "Wow, what a suprise" - says nobody!!
  12. Do we really have to explain this to you AGAIN to the reasons that UND decided to not play NDSU anymore in 2004? One more time...here are the reasons. 1) UND was still compteing at the D2 level. When it came to the playoffs, only wins against D2 schools counted as wins when being looked at by the NCAA playoff committee. So playing NDSU or any D1 (or even D3 school) would not help and actually could hurt their chances of making the playoffs at the end of the year. This was the main reason UND did not want to play NDSU. 2) As a D1 school, NDSU received more scholarships for their players than UND, a D2 school. So in the minds of UND officials, it was not an even playing field. So those are the two main reasons UND chose not to play NDSU in 2014. Had it been the other way around, NDSU would have done the exact same thing. And you can't deny it.
  13. Get Natural Light to sponser it and call it the "Natty Cup"!!
  14. Having attended the game, I would guess that there were less than 200 UNd fans there. SO most were NDSU fans.
  15. If only there were a way to get that back? If only there were a sport that both schools play that they used to play against each other for over a century and haven't played in over a decade that people have been wanting to play ever since, that they could play each other in!!
  16. You do realize that the game this year was played on a Sunday afternoon when it was below zero outside? Also the game was televised!! Maybe that had a little to do with attendance...don't you think?? "Without football, rivalry is going away" - Question...do you want the rivalry to go away??? Why?? Why do some Bison fans not care about this century long rivalry?? Why this cocky "we don't need you anymore" attitude? Pathetic and childish if you ask me.
  17. Bison fans love to point out the number of National Championships they have won, the number of conference championships they won, how many FBS teams they have beat, and how many wins they have since they moved to D1. I will agree that all those statistics are very impressive. But when the topic of playing UND comes up, they act like all that will be stripped away if we happen to beat them. If UND were to beat NDSU, somehow they believe that all their recruits will call up Bohl and tell them they are going to UND. They say :"NDSU has everything to lose" in this game. Guess what: The only thing that you would lose would be the game. Sure you would hear plenty of UND fans talking about how they beat you. But in the grand scheme of things, would it drastically affect the program that bad? Would recruiting suffer that bad? Anything can happen on a football field. Teams can upset better teams. If we played this upcoming season, UND winning would deffinitely be an upset...this year. But is really the end of the world for the program? My point is the excuses for not wanting to play this game are getting pretty pathetic.
  18. What type of media BS would there be? What would they talk about that would tick off Bison fans? Sure if a game was finally scheduled they would probably talk about the history of the rivalry and how UND won the last game and has a better record overall against the Bison. Great. That can make some UND fans all warm and tingly inside. But guess what, they would probably bring up the fact that NDSU has won 10 National Championships compared to our 1 and that the have won 2 (at this point) at the FCS level. I am just wondering if you could tell me what kind of media BS you would expect??!!!

    Soooo

Please everyone stop responding to Fetch. I know its tempting...but we have gone through this ad nauseam for the past 6 years. Everything argument for both sides has been stated multiple times, over and over, on many different threads. It's been great being able to just talk sports these past few months. We are not forgetting the past...but we have moved on debating the issue.
  20. And are you going to tell us what it is?!!

    Soooo

Again....where were these people 6 years ago?!!!! To little to late.

    Soooo

For the 1000th time...Having Sioux name = no scheduled games with Minnesota or Wisconsin, and potentially being kicked out of the Big Sky. Not worth it. Not fair, obviously....but def finitely not worth it.
  23. You don't play this game because it is financially beneficial for one school or the other. You don't play this game because you want to sell tickets for a home game. You do not play this game because you have something to gain. You play this game because it is the biggest rivalry in the biggest sport that the two schools compete in. You play it because there is over 100 years of history of these two schools competing against each other. You play it because the vast majority of fans on both sides want this game to be played. The reasons for this game not being played are well documented and justified. Both sides need to sit down and resolve this and do what the overwhelming majority of fans on both sides want. This rivalry is still alive and well. A 107 page blog with 2130 posts...and counting 10 years after the last time the schools played is proof of that. This games deserves to be played. Whether it is every year, every other year, every 4 years...whatever. But these games need to be played for the sake of the rivalry...which will never die.
  24. Atta boy Drew!! Tough matchup but he held his own!
  25. Just listened back to Lucia on KFAN this morning. Although he said that he didn't want to wait around during the nickname debacle so they scheduled Notre Dame, he did say once that 4 year commitement is up, they are going to put North Dakota back on the schedule once that is over. The demand for the game to be scheduled is too great, that Minnesota doesn't dare not scheduling us. Imagine the buildup for that game after a 4 year break!!
