No bar, but they do have a waterslide!! Applebee's is right across the parking lot. Turning into the unofficial Sioux bar/ restaurant in Brookings!!!

So if you are driving back from Omaha today you will most likely be stuck somewhere along I29. If not, you should be. Interstate is closing in parts. Lots of Sioux fans here in the Holiday Inn Express in Brookings!! Where is everyone stranded?!!

If it rains Saturday (chances are it will not) they will most likely play at the Century Link Center on Sunday. There is a Creighton basketball game Saturday night, but they can probably convert it over pretty quickly withing a couple hours. I am sure there is a contingency plan if the the weather makes it unable to play the game outdoors...even on Sunday.

Side note: Jim Cornelison will be singing the National Anthem on Saturday. In case you don't know who he is...he is sings the anthem at Blackhawks games!! I love how the crowd cheers as loud as they can during the entire anthem!! Goosebumps!! Hopefully we can replicate that this Saturday!!

The high that day in Omaha is supposed to be in the low 40's and probably will be colder than that when the second game starts. It is supposed to be cloudy so there shouldn't be to much ice melting. Chance of rain still pretty low, so I think the conditions are about as good as you can ask for. Hey Blackheart, You don't have to buy anything. these guy that put the ice in are the same guys who do the ice for the Winter Classic every year. When is the last time you heard about the Winter Classic ice being crappy? Its not going to be like the Hockey Day Minnesota day in Moorhead a couple years ago with puddles everywhere. Ice conditions won't be perfect, but they are not going to be terrible.

Why is it taking 2 years to get new green jerseys??!! I like the black ones...but I would like to see us wear the greens at home for most games. Only bring out the blacks for special games. Much like the hockey team does. From the sound of it, looks like they will be wearing the blacks for every home game next year.

Not sure what forecast you are looking at, but the one I see is 50 degrees, mostly cloudy, with only a 20% chance of rain. If it is gonna rain Saturday and Sunday, they could pretty easily move the game indoors. I am sure they can switch from basketball to hockey pretty quick. Probably do it all the time. Hopefully that won't happen.

Bisides football (which fans from both schools can obviously agree NDSU has the advantage) name one thing that NDSU excels in over UND...athletics, academics, facilities.....anything?!!!!

It would have been better if they moved the rink closer to home plate. I doubt they are going to sell many outfield general admission tickets. Moving it closer would make it much better for the people that sit in the lower bowl, especially towards the bottom. This view isn't bad...but upper deck is the way to go. If you go to ticketmaster and pic your seat, you can see that most of the upper deck is sold out. Sure you are higher up, but you will have a much better view of the ice.

When was the last time you went to the Alerus for an event and there wasn't enough parking?!!

They did. I wonder why they did that? Scheduling conflict at the Alerus possibly?

I find it ironic that the winner of "The Greatest Sioux Jersey Ever" contest was probably worn the least of any jersey that was in the tournament....or any jersey in UND hockey history!! I remember then wearing that jersey for a Gopher game...but how many times was it actually worn?? Just ironic that the most popular jersey in this bracket was one of the least worn jersey in Sioux hockey history.

Here is a question...Are they going to sell beer at TD Ameritrade Park next Saturday? I am thinking no...but wondering if anyone knows.

That MacWilliam penalty was a horrible call. Refs did not even see it. They may have caught it out of the corner of their eye, but totally made a reaction call on how the guy was selling it. Funny how Shephard is commenting on this article and he is guilty of calling these bull s#%& dives 5 minute majors all the time!!

Just read that the ice can hold up in temperatures up to 70 degrees!! Looks like the forecast for Omaha should be mid 40's and sunny. Should be a great day for an outdoor game. And, it doesn't look like we have to worry about the ice being an issue due to the warm weather.

Sure he made a mistake and no doubt feels really bad about it. The fans can vote him into the Hobey Hat Trick, but I doubt the selection committee will give it to Knight after being charged with a Class A Misdemeanor the month before!!
