It's unfortunate this whole native american nickname ban in the NCAA didn't happen in today's messed up times!! If the NCAA came up with their rule about native american names and imagery, UND and the state of North Dakota could just hold a vote for people who identified as Sioux or native americans and they could have decided if they approve of the name or not.

What needs to be looked at is what are the current needs that a new library would provide? Sure there is still a demand for people to check out books, but what is that demand? IT was mentioned that many people use the library for internet use. Well, you don't need to build a huge building the size of the current library downtown. If internet is the primary use for the library, then build a few internet cafe's around town. Heck, you could find 4 or 5 open places that already exist for a fraction of the cost it would be to build a new library!!

I think they will but some advertising on each side of the boards. Makes sense. Got to pay for them somehow!! These video boards are something that has been missing and fans have been asking to have for years!! Instant replays at UND basketball games. Just let that idea sink in!! Great time for UND basketball and volleyball!!

I think the NCHC is willing to take the risk of UND being at the Frozen Faceoff the majority of the time. Heck, even if we didn't make it, there would still probably be a couple thousand UND fans there!!

Calling FCS JV is a rip on UND football. That is why I am taking offense to it. It's not the highest level of football in the NCAA, but it is the highest level that UND competes in. In the grand scheme of things in regards to national recognition, FCS Championships are equal to NCAA Hockey National Championships. To get back on topic, I doubt either NDSU or UND will be visiting the White House due both being irrelevant in the minds of the majority of people in the country compared to other sports in the NCAA. No, it's ignorant for 2 reasons: 1. You are taking a jab at FCS football not being the top tier level in the NCAA. So while he might have had the intention of taking a shot at NDSU, he is actually ripping FCS football as a whole. The current level that UND plays at as well. So you may as well say that UND is JV in all of its sports other than hockey because they compete in the FCS and play in a mid major conference. 2. Ripping on NDSU after it has won 5 consecutive Football National Championships is pretty pathetic. I am not a Bison apologist, but I think that we can all agree that what they have accomplished in the last 5 years is pretty impressive. I get it that they are our rival and it's always fun making fun of those guys, but when you do so in this case, it just makes you look foolish.

If the BTHC was smart, they would adopt the same type of post season. They have shown that not even a conference Championship game 8 miles from U of M's campus when they are playing in the game can draw a crowd. WCHA made a smart move. We will see I guess ig the BTHC will learn anything from it. Of course from a NCHC fan standpoint, obviously we all hope the BTHC adopts a similar conference playoff so the Frozen Faceoff can move to its rightful place back to St Paul.

So you are telling me the 3rd weekend of March, there will be an empty arena with no tournament being played at it, meanwhile the NCHC is playing its conference tournament across the river in a basketball arena!!
