What a fun back and forth game. Fast and lots of hard hits. There won't be anything extra for Duluth players. I thought the hit on Blood was more deliberate than the one on Mattson. Towards end they were saying that Parks was limping. Did he ever come back? We need him. That line was great at forcing turnovers.

That's what I was saying originally. UND/REA needs to invest in the cameras and truck. If REA had the capability to do HD where CBS didn't have to send their equipment then CBS is likely to televise more Sioux games as it's a better investment for them. Of course there could be a clause in the contract about how many times a team could be on.

But not NBC sports good that Hockey East got because that doesn't require a sports pack add on. That being said it's nice they found a station. Because of the Big Ten move look at all the hockey that will now be aired nationally that never was before. Now maybe games would've been anyways, but would 3 national networks truly be picking them up? I know we have a few television guys on the board. Does CBS bring in their own cameras or do they share what FSSN uses? Because I think UND needs to get HD cameras over the summer.

Nice article on the history of Huntsville and the effort to save their team. Though the article never lists how they are going to save the team. Quite the difference in money compared to Moorhead trying to endow the program. Without being in a conference and hardly getting 10 home games a year is not a way to sustain a team without a major chunk of money each year.

I wouldn't mind it at Target Center. I went to those games back in the early late 90s and it was fine. Granted it's not the X. But as someone else said their would be way more restaurants and bars especially since Twins park is there. Also more hotels. Remember that the X's main tenant is the Wild. They already have to give up prime weekend games for multiple weekends in a row when it comes to state high school tournaments and then WCHA Final Five. If Final Five still there, then I don't see how there would be room in schedule to fit NCHC tourney. If they want attendance money they keep it in the Cities. I do like the idea of it going to Colorado once every three years. At least it deserves a try. Denver is a very fun city to visit and skiing not to far away. Could always do world junior tourney style and come back to Cities every other year. The off years rotate between Denver, Omaha, and possibly somewhere further east.

I'm so bummed I wasn't able to go. I even had free tickets offered. How was the crowd?

Sounds like Erickson will still coach the bowl game for ASU. Anyone heard on the situation with Neuheisel (sp?) at UCLA. Is he still coaching the the Pac 12 title game? And if so, could you imagine him winning it and gaining the BCS bid for the Pac 12? I believe they have to win it just to become bowl eligible.

I'm shocked we shot that well from three. It was all we were shooting in the first part of the game and we were not making them. Here's what I was seeing with their D. Early in the game from what I remember they were playing an area. Keeping 3 guys in the lane and then rushing out to whoever was shooting. These guys weren't moving other than out to the shooter; hence a zone. Now this was on the backside and maybe they weren't forced to move because our offensive guys weren't moving. Where the screens were happening they manned up and switched. And what I don't think I clarified very well in my first post was that even if they were in man, they were sagging so much on help side that it was essentially a zone. Again this was for like first 5-10 minutes. The rest of the time they played a man D and jumped the screen and rolls forcing our dribbler higher and not allowing us to pass. I agree that we had poor turnovers and decisions again. I also didn't think we played very well on D. For us being a screen and roll offensive team we did not do a good job playing defense against them when they did it.

The first half of the first half Western was in a hybrid zone. They would sag a ridiculous amount, so much so that they had sometimes 4 guys in the paint to make sure we couldn't get the ball inside. They dared us to shoot the 3 and we couldn't do it. Essentially their D wasn't a traditional zone defense because they did match up. It really looked like a matchup zone as the paint defenders weren't moving. And I don't consider it a man when we can get as many open shots from 3 as we wanted.

Another nice thing about having qb's is that they tend to be some of the best athletes in high school and the hope would be that they could always play another position. Not sure if the fb staff would do this...
