Looks like USD flew here. Seems surprising.
-
It gets cold in Verm too and they’ve had a pipeline it seems.

USD (KP 264) comes to Grand Forks Thursday after getting hammered at home against NDSU. They seem to be struggling to find their identity and who’s going to take control of the minutes and like UND, prefer not to play defense. Their adjusted defensive efficiency (358) is actually 8 spots below us. They do, however, have a more efficient offense than ours. This is the final trip Paul Bruns will make to Grand Forks, unless the NCAA decides to allow people to play forever. He sits at 1-3 against UND in his career. Would say his career maybe didn’t pan out quite how he envisioned after winning Freshman of the Year. Hard to say he regrets the move though as he does get to play basically in his hometown and with his brother. Other than Paul, you have 3 other guards to keep an eye on. #12 Isaac Bruns, Paul’s brother, #9 Chase Forte and #1 Kaleb Stewart. All 3 are double digit scorers. Hope we can continue some momentum from the KC game. It is dollar dog night so come hungry for some hot dogs. Hopefully they figure out how to sling them quickly. KenPom has UND as 2 point favorites with a score of 90-88 (defense optional).

It’s super early but how much of the what looks to be the start of a turnaround should be credited to Hutter? I feel like he has made an immense impact early.
-
Almost like you ripped half that from my tweet

I just need to beat Paul Bruns another time. He’s 1-3 against UND.
-
Alright, 2-4 through 6 SL games. 10 more to go. What’s everyone’s predictions on the rest of the way? In my opinion we should beat USD at home on Thursday and then ORU and Denver at home too. I don’t know how many more wins I see outside of that though. Maybe at USD? Maybe at KC? I think that’s it. At BEST 7-9. At worst, we should be 5-11. Both those outcomes are unacceptable though.

Everyone talks about the locker room being divided. Maybe the coaching staff is divided.
-
Kalamazoo was a fun town when we went! We also swept so that only added to the fun!
-
Glad we won! KC I feel like should be a bit better than they are. Petty is really good. Brown is good but didn’t have a very good game.
-
Defense is now 350th! Teams are shooting 39.1% from 3 against us. 58.6% from 2.
-
The NDSU fans would love for him to replace Richman. SDSU fans would want him to take over if Henderson leaves. Omaha fans hope he sticks around until Crutch calls it quits. Only good things about him. Make the right move!

I think I’m in agreement.

So what’s the Yotes story? Down year? I know they have a new coach. Or maybe we are turning the corner?
-
I think it also has to do with all the high end players no longer being in the league. Not saying there’s not new high end players but the league lost a lot of talent last year that had been around a few years. Zeke, Frankie, BJ, Tyree, Andrew Morgan, Boden (yuck), Bjorklund, Bruner.

I like Sather. Seems like a really good dude and from many trusted people, a good coach. A lot has happened since he took this job with COVID, the portal and NIL. Now that’s not to say other coaches don’t have that same excuse but he excelled in a different world of college athletics and at a program that prioritized basketball rather than one where it is maybe the 3rd fiddle. If things don’t turn around, it does seem like he may have an opportunity to go back to Northern though with the trainwreck Saul has there.

I probably shouldn’t have brought it up on here. Don’t want to derail what’s actually happening. Anyways, just watched the Dariyus Woodson Midco feature. Seems like a good kid. I would be lying though if I wasn’t frustrated with how he’s played out. I knew coming in that 3s was what he liked to shoot but I really think he has a skill set to provide more than that. Not saying he will be a post presence but he is built more than I thought coming in. Feel like he could be a bit more of a point forward almost? Idk just don’t think he should be exclusively a chucker at 31% from 3. Also, has 3 total rebounds in conference play. Shocking for a 6’7” guy playing significant minutes. I should add that with the recent NCAA ruling with JUCOs he could technically be a freshman. Believe the waiver right now is only for seniors (Amar).

I see DAE is going after Dosch and Sather on X, the everything app, again!

So when are we getting a CHL player?
-
lol did you read @fightingsioux4life essay first?
-
Wow it’s almost like you read my mind. I was typing this kind of thing up but then just opted to not. Agree 100%.

It’s been super frustrating. I’m not sure how to really spin it any other way. I guess 2 of our 3 losses are to the current top teams in the Summit but both occurred at home and both were never really close.
