  1. I don’t know how I forgot to mention Waddles. They have weapons for sure.
  2. I don’t know for sure but seems like Jimmy wanted to pound the rock and I wouldn’t say that exactly aligns with Danny’s style. I would think Schmidt would want to pound the rock as well but maybe not as extreme as Jimmy wanted out in Wazzu?
  3. UND (KenPom 312) hits the road for the first time in Summit League play tonight, traveling to Omaha (KenPom 274) after a very successful opening weekend at The Betty. UND sits 2-0 in the league after taking down Oral Roberts and then winning a thriller over South Dakota State. That win also pushed UND’s streak over SDSU to three straight for the first time since the early 90s. Omaha is the defending Summit League champion but is off to a slower start this season after losing Marquell Sutton and JJ White to the transfer portal. Despite that, they still have plenty of familiar faces. Tony Osburn (#32) leads the way with 13.9 points per game. Kam Thomas (#22) is only averaging 6 points so far but was a solid contributor last season. Ja’Sean Glover (#5) is also someone UND fans will remember and is putting up 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Their best player is recently eligible Paul Djobet (#11) averaging 16.8ppg in 4 games. There is also a heavy emotional layer to this matchup. Omaha was expecting to have another familiar player to UND fans on the roster this year in Deng Mayar before his tragic passing this summer. It would not be surprising if that creates some real emotions on both sides when the ball tips. KenPom projects this one as a loss for UND 77-71. Vegas has UND at +5.5 with a total of 146.5. Tip is at 7pm on the Summit League Network. Should be a good road test to see if UND can keep the early season Summit momentum rolling.
  4. Wow man, you got any bets on who wins the FCS championship this past Monday?
  5. I guess the only way I thought Pabst would maybe come here is if Danny actually got/took the OC job. Would have still been surprised.
  6. Excuse me?
  7. I would love for Danny to be back.
  8. Gordie has to be the betting favorite. Maybe Schmidt has someone else lined up but have to imagine this possibility was discussed when Gordie was brought here.
  9. I am ready for him to take over Curtis’s minutes and eat into Anderson’s, who’s been extremely disappointing but that was a big time shot he made yesterday.
  10. Extremely fun to watch. I think you’re accurate in most areas and I think a big part of why they’re playing this way, especially on the defensive end is Ty Danielson. I mean still gave up 80+ points yesterday in OT but the defense is flying and fun. I think it’s extremely important we keep him around. I guess that would probably mean keep Sather around unless we do the bold thing and just give the keys to Danielson, which I’m not necessarily opposed to…..
  11. Much better.
  12. I didn’t notice the graphic is in front of the fargodome
  13. Come again.
  14. I don’t know for sure but I believe she’s referring to watching the gopher games on the couch and now in the stands.
  15. Cartel money
  16. Where do you predict we finish? I guess what is exceeding expectations? I feel like a top 3 finish could secure an extension but not sure beyond that.
  17. UND (317 KenPom) is coming off a 72-61 win over Oral Roberts on New Year’s Day, a game that was somehow closer and yet also didn’t really reflect how much better UND was for large stretches. The Hawks led by 17 at halftime before a sluggish second half let Oral Bob creep back in. That comeback stalled quickly once ORU had two players foul out and another get ejected for a dirty play on Eli King. A weird game, but a needed Summit win. Now onto South Dakota State. The Jacks come in ranked 177 on KenPom and are already 1-0 in Summit League play after a convincing New Year’s Day win over Omaha. As usual, SDSU is loaded with balance and experience. Sophomore 6’10” center Damon Wilkinson (#34) announced himself in conference play with a monster performance, going for 24 points and 19 rebounds. He is going to be a major handful for UND’s post players and will likely be the focal point of SDSU’s offense. They have plenty of weapons beyond him. #3 Joe Sayler is averaging 11.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. He was my preseason pick for Summit Player of the Year and while his numbers are a bit quieter than expected so far, we all know he can get hot in a hurry. #14 Jaden Jackson is putting up 12.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, and #10 Kalen Garry adds 11.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. Lots of capable scorers and playmakers, which makes defending SDSU a real challenge. KenPom projects a 78-72 SDSU win, while BartTorvik has it at 76-71. Either way, it’s expected to be competitive. Get to The Betty on Saturday at 1pm before the hockey game and let’s help give this team a real home-court boost. This is the kind of game where the crowd can matter.
  18. I agree with both of you. Just shocking, imo.
  19. FYI - Carter Evanson and his Horace squad will be in Grand Forks next Friday night in a game against Central. May have to go check it out.
  20. I just can’t believe Reggie Thomas is playing real D1 minutes. He was good today so it’s working just think we can get so much more out of AS3.
  21. I haven’t watched anything but with the position versatility could he replace Wiltshire? Still hoping we can get another year out him.
