Not saying Fruechte is going to put Romfo’s health on the line but I would guess they won’t be as concerned about him getting hurt as they maybe were with Tommy the past few years. That’s simply due to Trey and Jerry being closer to ready. I guess that’s assuming that Romfo just won the job and not that Trey and Jerry lost it.

Missing a 5-6 season is something. Maybe if he never got hurt it would have been different. The Montana game was certainly fun but that’s about it.

I know we have consistently been around that 7 win mark but how would people view that at the end of the year? 7-5 with a new OC, OL coach, new oline besides Seth Anderson and new QB? I don’t want to go as far as saying that would be a successful season, as we need to aim higher than that, but I do feel like we would be optimistic about the following year. Especially if the portal doesn’t kill us.

I believe it’s just for practice as a way to see where the QB is looking when watching film.

Not really disagreeing with you but it could be worse and playing Northern State or Augie like the SD schools this year.

Feels like Jerry has been the first one up pretty consistently. I’m getting the impression that none of the QBs are wowing. Seems like Romfo maybe had the highest highs but also feels like that was maybe against the lower units.

The LB that was a RB at Kansas? Either way not great but it wasn’t like someone that wasn’t a legitimate college RB.

All I know is that no matter who is named starter, some sector of the fan base will be calling for them to be replaced after any mistake. Likely, more vocally if Jerry doesn’t win the job.

I’m going to make a somewhat bold take. No matter who is named the starting QB, I think Romfo is no lower than 2 on the depth chart. And he’s going to play regardless, but that’s not bold.

Deng Deng came to mind for me. He might be a little raw but if he really is putting in work with Bo, you never know. If we weren’t as deep at RB as we are, I’d say Colton Brunell too.

Which true freshman do we think will contribute? With the 4 games, more than back in the day maybe but any that will go over 4 games? I always take a look at the numbers the players have and if they are the only ones with that number, they may be ones playing more. Not a perfect science by any means.
