  1. very cool, awesome to see how much that guy has done.
  2. Yeah, pretty harmless play too. He just went in to finish a check and landed wrong. Man its tough to watch though. Terrible you see a young kid, or anyone, have to go through life like that.
  3. Well, I'm glad that we don't have to worry about Lacrosse before the Sioux game, but is anyone watching this thing on Travis Roy? My God it is sad. Doesn't exactly pump me up for the game, but serves as a great reminder about just how little the actual game matters. Obviously hope our boys win today, but really hope everyone plays smart and stays healthy. Watching something like this really puts it all into perspective.
  4. BOOM! Gameday is here! I didn't think I was going to make it through work yesterday, but thanks to youtube and a ton of sioux hockey highlights, I was able to make it through the day. Completely jacked for this game, and hope we get a statement win. Wouldn't mind seeing about a 4 or 5 OT game out of Michigan and Notre Dame either Lets play Sioux hockey and get it done! Its going to be a Good Friday!
  5. How about Home Depot? Will there be enough time? Sounds like a pretty nice little Saturday.
  6. start drinking???? ...... Keep Drinking?!?!?!?!?!
  7. I was just thinking about that. If it took another 16 years, my son would be old enough to play for the Sioux. That is a scary thought!!!. Lets just get one, then get another next year
  8. I was actually having issues at work earlier. All I wanted to do was watch old sioux highlights. I'm so jacked for tomorrow. Definitely one of my favorite times of the year!
  9. I remember it being bad when we played New Hampshire. My wife (gf at the time) and roommate had just gotten back from sandbagging the flood, gotten cleaned up and opened some beers....unfortunately just for some disappointemnt that the game was delayed for lacrosse, then disappointed for a loss. UGH
  10. Anyone want to research what UND's record is (all time or in the playoffs) when playing in rinks named after banks or other financial institutions? That could be a hot statistic going into this series
  11. Has Tuch been pretty entertaining to watch? I believe he is a MN Wild draft pick, so I'm hoping he has some serious potential. Haven't seen him play yet though.
  12. Can we dub tomorrow's evening game, "The Battle of the Ugly Helmets"? We could sell t-shirts and everything.
  13. Good to know. I would hope UND would still try to schedule non-conference games against Denver, Duluth, maybe even St Cloud... those are always fun.
  14. Denver will be tough, especially since they don't have to travel all the way east. UND vs Denver, and Boston College vs Mass Lowell ...... who could I have possibly picked as champions ...... this is subject to change before tomorrow
  15. Right, and I don't think they have many of them, but still ... I'm a creature of habit. Grew up in Mpls and watched the Goofs every Friday and Saturday. Transitioned seamlessly into a much better market when I moved to Grand Forks, and I love watching my Sioux play on Friday and Saturday night. Especially having kids, I'm not out running around the town on weekends. I like to get them to bed, and enjoy my hockey time.
  16. I wonder if UND would see more TV options open up with the Big10. Obviously the Big Ten Network, and NBC Sports as mentioned above, but possible more on FSN North? Or re-establishing the Fox College Sports setup that we had a few years ago? I don't hate the idea of the Big 10, as we would get Wisco, MN, and Michigan on a regular basis. Ohio St and Penn St really do nothing for me. I do hate the idea of potential Thursday, or even Sunday games.
  17. To strengthen your point, the guys on KFAN, in minneapolis, were talking college hockey last weekend, and basically said the NCHC tourney would be the same as the Big 10, if North Dakota did not make it to the Target Center. Big picture, college hockey is a smaller sport. But within the college hockey community, North Dakota and its fan base is a hot commodity.
  18. Well a giant thanks to Brad Schlossman for the article on the 10 year anniversary of the Holy Cross win over the Gophers. Not only did I watch the clip posted with his article, but I somehow ended up on Youtube, watching a ton of old Sioux highlights from Oshie's sweet toe drag against the gophers to Frattin's giant charge, to some sick goals by Caggiula, to the Radke/Vossberg fight, and then to The Water Bottle Incident. Not the most productive start to my work day, but I am absolutely jacked for tomorrow's game!
  19. Agreed, you can't pick you whole schedule, kids have to play regardless of whether they are tough opponents. We had a few people on here saying we can't finish our regular season with cream puffs and expect to be competitive with better teams in the NCHC and Nat'l tourneys. Truth is, you have to play your schedule and play it strong regardless of whom is on it.
  20. Just to make my own personal case ..... I have been a hardcore Sioux fan since 2003 when I first got to UND. Prior to that I grew up a Gopher fan (It was a fairly dark place in my like that I prefer not to think about ) So despite all of UND's Championship banners, I have been doomed to 12 years of playoff disappointment. -Losing to Denver in'03 and again in '04; the year of the all-WCHA frozen four -More early exits to BC that I prefer to think about. ('06, '07, '08) -Strange early exits to New Hampshire ('09) and Yale('10). (Also lost to Yale in '13, though they won it all that year) -Sean Hunwick vs. The Pony Express (winner Hunwick) (in '11) -Gopher ('12) .... at least they didn't win it all -Bounced by the Goofers with .6 seconds left in the game. ('14) -Zano Insano vs Eichel and Company ('15) I'm getting very tired of these playoff losses, often in epic fashion. Time to win one! C'mon Hockey Gods, time to play fair!! Go Sioux!
