  1. Appreciate the tweet from Trevor, but was anyone actually concerned he was leaving? Barring a significant jump in productivity and another championship next year, I kind of see Olson as a 4 year player. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see Trevor benefiting from leaving early, even next year.
  2. Nah, you're good, and I hear ya. I just get tired of some of these threads getting derailed by complete program comparisons. Lets face it the programs are just not completely comparable at this point. Its not that it can't be a discussion, just the wrong place to have it. We get some trolls on here, and I probably spewed my frustration in the wrong direction.
  3. Not sure if you saw the Wentz tweet over the weekend, congratulating UND on their Men's Hockey National Championship. Kid has absolute class, maybe take a lesson from the guy if you are going to come onto a Sioux message board and try to get in a pissing match over football programs. Majority of the people on this board have already acknowledged the ridiculous success your team has had. Yes, they have had many great player, including NFL talent. Does UND have that right now? No. Does that mean they won't get it? No. Remember there was a point in time where NDSU did not have 5 consecutive titles. I'm not saying UND, or any other team, will ever do what NDSU has not (maybe they will, maybe they won't), but UND has shown progress, so it is pretty asinine to really compare these two programs at the moment. If you want that argumentative garbage, go back to bisonville. You want to have a legitimate conversation about UND players and the direction of the program, then stick around.
  4. Think he would actually get any NHL time in the playoffs this year? Regardless of team?
  5. Bummer, sounds like Stecher will be gone by the end of the week. Leaning towards going pro, but will make a decision on Wed. (Per tweets from Schloss and Phil Neumann) That's too bad. Best of luck to the guy! Maybe a last second change of heart??? haha
  6. Not going to argue with that, you are absolutely right. That as well as Kaskisuo and Lindgren leaving ... we're already going to look pretty good for next season; if we can retain another few guys we'll be looking REALLY GOOD!!! Don't get me wrong, Sioux winning is my #1 priority, but I also like seeing guys stay. More so the guys that aren't ready to leave, but anything to make college hockey an elite path to the NHL. Thats how the league will continue to get high end talent. Is it October yet?
  7. I'm glad we don't have to play against him, but I'm all for retaining top end talent in the league. Even when Bjugstad stayed that extra year for the goofs. Good for the sport to keep those players. That said, Heinen should do well at the next level.
  8. Didn't even realize they were called that, or I just don't remember. Definitely never heard about the bochenski counterfeit thing.
  9. Shoot, now I need to go get a trademark. Just remember where you heard it first, when the The Money Line is tearing it up on their way to hanging #9.
  10. Maybe just The Money Line
  11. Who said that? Rosen?
  12. Tyson Jost i assume
  13. Ok, so now we have to play the waiting game. Who stays, Who goes. I'm not expecting to hear anything immediate, which makes sense, as these guys need to fully weigh their options. Regardless of who leaves, we have a ton of talent coming in. This team will be competitve again next season .... how competitive will still depend on how many people stay or go. These are just my thought, but I'm sure many of you have better perspective than I do. Your thoughts? High Risk: Paul Ladue - Surprised he stayed this year. LA will want to sign him for sure; doubt he will stay for another year, especially now that he has a championship. Nick Schmaltz - It will be interesting to see what happens with Schmaltz. I'm sure he will be having a few conversations with his brother regarding the benefits of leaving early, but again, now that he has a championship, how does that come into play. Would love to see him back and playing with Boeser and Jost on the CBJ line or the #1's line. Brock Boeser - Boeser is obviously a big flight risk, but hopefully he sees the benefit of staying for at least one more year. Parise, Toews, Oshie ... all guys in that same talent pool as Boeser, and all of who stayed, at least, two years. Most of whom have said they wish they stayed longer. Hopefully Boeser considers the value of staying for a year or two over a paycheck. Really wish the Wild hadn't passed on this kid. Low/Medium Risk: Luke Johnson - Hometown kid, that would not be playing in the NHL next year. I would actually consider LJ more of a low risk player who will finish out his college career. Chance to be a huge leader next season. Troy Stecher - Stecher's going to have to field some offers before he makes a decision. I believe it has been said that he wants to play in Vancouver and I believe they have been looking at him. Though will he sign this year or wait until after his senior year. Definitely a kid I want to see back, but we'll have to wait and see. Austin Poganski - Pogo is another one who should be low risk, at least for this year. He could use more development; hopefully here instead of playing minors. Tucker Poolman - Hoping Poolman can hold off making the jump, and stick around to play with his brother. Cam Johnson/ Matej Tomek - We won't lose both, we hopefully won't lose either. Cam will get some looks, but should stick around. Tomek could certainly look to transfer if he doesn't think he will see playing time, but hopefully sees the value of staying. Karl Goehring has done a phenomenal job of coaching up these kids.
  14. I'm sure you were calling for Berry to be the coach last year too ....don't forget Hak was in this same game in his first season. Bottom line, we have had many many consecutive years of elite coaching.
  15. I'm not willing to just say DU had an easy path .... as we have seen the past few tourneys, there is no easy path. DU played whomever they got, and won significantly. When they play their game they are dangerous. BUT .... to your point, so are we. UND play the same game that we played in Cincy and not only will we beat DU, but we will hang #8. This team is just that good. 200 ft game baby! We got this!
  16. I'll go 5-2 Good Guys!!! Boeser, Caggiula, LJ, Pogo, Sanderson -- Moore, Butcher .....#8 baby! Lets get it!
  17. Well, this process is becoming a joke. Q goes from leading to significantly trailing for the second time this week. It appears that someone from NJIT has found a way to stack the vote, and has done it again.

    2016 Season

I'd be surprised if he was not 100% at this point. There has been talk about him potentially being back for the playoff (had the committee not completely screwed UND). If he could have played back then, I'd imagine he is good to go by now. Hopefully nothing is holding him back right now, because for a kid that was already a bruiser, he needs to be hitting the weight room hard to become even stronger and more physical.
  19. Here is the response I got from @CC_Report: Thanks for reaching out in terms of the polls and the change this morning. The issue isn't in regards to Quinton's totals, for the record. This morning, before a player's school made a push on social media, their votes were increasing at a rate that hasn't been seen yet from them in the fan vote. I'm not sure exactly how it was done, but their votes increased by a couple hundred in a matter of minutes. Not too sure if somebody was using some sort of code to vote on a consistent basis, which is why I created a new poll this morning. The votes from the first poll still count, they just aren't reflected in this poll. Also, in the online polls, social media votes aren't reflected as there's no way to add them into the totals through Polldaddy. That's why it says Lynn is ahead right now in the poll, but Quinton is ahead overall in the tweet sent out earlier. I tally those votes each morning and tweet out the updated totals so people are aware of the total number of votes cast and where each player stands. I hope that all makes sense. Made sense in my head but not sure if it translated out well in here. Flag this message Delete this message 4m4 minutes ago Thanks for the quick response! Appreciate the info. 3m3 minutes ago Hope that helps to clarify the situation a bit, Quinton is still comfortably ahead, but Lynn usually makes a late week charge so it's not over quite yet!
  20. Apparently College Court Report tweeted that there are claims that some people "beat the system", which I assume means, an NJIT fan was able to run up the vote count for there guy. Sounds like they are looking into it.
  21. What happened to Q's lead? Yesterday he was up 60-40 and now is down 86-13! Was there some some of glitch? That is a pretty drastic change. Get out there and vote people!

    2016 Season

Also said they have 3 holes to fill .... Wouldn't Grady have made 4?
  23. I still remember Jordan Parise trying to play the puck against Mankato back in 03 or 04. Ended up passing the puck right to Mankato for an open net goal.
  24. This is what I wrote in the comments of that article. Dave, I dont disagree with you on points 1 or 2, though with point 2 I do wonder how many goals are scored during the delayed penalty in a season; or how many are score on the delayed penalty AND the ensuing penalty kill. Point 3 doesn't make a ton of sense to me ... unless you are going to allow the ref to make a discretionary call based on injury. There are plenty of times where someone takes a cheap shot, hit from behind or to the head, and bounces right back up because they are fine. Contact to the head is "potentially" dangerous, but does not cause injury in EVERY instance. Why punish the player on the receiving end of a cheap shot by not allowing them to be on the ice, during a critical point in the game. If they need need further medical assessment, that should be up to the medical staff. If concern is for players that are diving or elaborating on a cheap hit, then that is a whole separate issue where refs should be assessing an additional penalty for diving or embellishment.
