So, I'm getting pretty anxious for Football, even just some updates on the team throughout the summer and into camp. More stories on how amazing Santiago is going to be this year. How Keaton is going to take that next step forward. How our secondary is going to make huge strides and contain the Big Sky passing game. An official word on Grady. Etc. Etc. Etc. While there hasn't been much to read lately (and us hockey fans continue to hang in the balance of Nick Schmaltz), I was over on the Bowling Green forum and someone provided me with the below link. It is an overview of BGSU and their program and what can be expected for next season. I'm definitely looking forward to that game, and while they were a very good MAC team last year, they have lost a ton of talent. No reason UND cannot go in there and make some noise. If I was Santiago, and I saw the film from Georgia Southern running all over BGSU last year, I'd be salivating. Agreed, there is definitely a difference, and I wouldn't expect Nick to wait that long either.

It has nothing to do with respect or lack of respect. The kid needs to make the right decision for himself, and its a pretty big one. When a team holds your draft rights, you also have to take that team into consideration as they have invested in you. They may want to see how he stacks up at development camp. If I recall a similar thing happened a few years back with JT Miller deciding in late summer that he would not come to UND. Disappointing sure, but we ended up getting Gaarder out of the deal. I think Nick will end up staying, but can't fault a kid for doing his due diligence to completely weigh out his options.

Do any of you insiders know when Schmaltz is expected to make his announcement? Obviously the kid needs to take time and make the right decision for himself, just curious to know if anything has heard anything.

Is it football season yet? Can't wait to see Santiago tear up the turf! Saw some of the practice highlights he tweeted earlier and he is really going to make some defenses look silly this year. Can't believe we get to watch this kid for 3 more seasons.

Why did Tychonik go in the 9th round? I though he was supposed to be a BIG TIME recruit? Why wouldn't he have gone higher? Awesome to see Hain go so high, hopefully he does well and comes to UND ready to dominate. As geaux_sioux asked ... what are the chances of getting Costello? Is UND looking at him?

I almost bought one of these. Then I found one that just said "North Dakota", soooo no Fighting Hawks for me yet.

If playing doesn't pan out for him long term, I wonder if he will get into coaching. I always wonder which of the players that I have seen over the past 13-14 years could end up being a coach for UND some day. Not sure if Caggiula would ever want to coach, or if he would even be good at coaching, but he certainly bleeds green.

Does anyone know if the coaches are still looking at that Eppy Henriques kid as a possible transfer at WR? When do we typically start hearing about transfers?

You sure? His hudl page shows highlights listed as senior season, which would tell me that he is coming in next fall.

Its totally the pro vs college thing. I don't care where a player played in college once they are on my pro team. Fontaine, Vanek, Haula, etc. Now I have no attachement to the Eagles, but I will definitely pull for Carson to have success. I've watched him play quite a bit, and he is a classy kid. Not to mention a kid from Bismarck going #2 overall is really cool.

Lets just get this guy to play both. Basketball players often make great TEs because they have good hands, and at 6'8", I'd love to see him catching some jump ball TDs.

Lots of good combinations, I really liked the all green this year.

I agree with pretty much everything you just said. Gray pants would accent well with the green Jersey. Love the helmets though; they do need a little more green, but the matte gray looks terrific. Maybe they can get matte black next year.

Anyone hear if the gray uniforms are going to happen for sure this year? I still say that helmet looks pretty sharp.
