  1. I'm not willing to just say DU had an easy path .... as we have seen the past few tourneys, there is no easy path. DU played whomever they got, and won significantly. When they play their game they are dangerous. BUT .... to your point, so are we. UND play the same game that we played in Cincy and not only will we beat DU, but we will hang #8. This team is just that good. 200 ft game baby! We got this!
  2. I'll go 5-2 Good Guys!!! Boeser, Caggiula, LJ, Pogo, Sanderson -- Moore, Butcher .....#8 baby! Lets get it!
  3. Well, this process is becoming a joke. Q goes from leading to significantly trailing for the second time this week. It appears that someone from NJIT has found a way to stack the vote, and has done it again.

I'd be surprised if he was not 100% at this point. There has been talk about him potentially being back for the playoff (had the committee not completely screwed UND). If he could have played back then, I'd imagine he is good to go by now. Hopefully nothing is holding him back right now, because for a kid that was already a bruiser, he needs to be hitting the weight room hard to become even stronger and more physical.
  5. Here is the response I got from @CC_Report: Thanks for reaching out in terms of the polls and the change this morning. The issue isn't in regards to Quinton's totals, for the record. This morning, before a player's school made a push on social media, their votes were increasing at a rate that hasn't been seen yet from them in the fan vote. I'm not sure exactly how it was done, but their votes increased by a couple hundred in a matter of minutes. Not too sure if somebody was using some sort of code to vote on a consistent basis, which is why I created a new poll this morning. The votes from the first poll still count, they just aren't reflected in this poll. Also, in the online polls, social media votes aren't reflected as there's no way to add them into the totals through Polldaddy. That's why it says Lynn is ahead right now in the poll, but Quinton is ahead overall in the tweet sent out earlier. I tally those votes each morning and tweet out the updated totals so people are aware of the total number of votes cast and where each player stands. I hope that all makes sense. Made sense in my head but not sure if it translated out well in here. Flag this message Delete this message 4m4 minutes ago Thanks for the quick response! Appreciate the info. 3m3 minutes ago Hope that helps to clarify the situation a bit, Quinton is still comfortably ahead, but Lynn usually makes a late week charge so it's not over quite yet!
  6. Apparently College Court Report tweeted that there are claims that some people "beat the system", which I assume means, an NJIT fan was able to run up the vote count for there guy. Sounds like they are looking into it.
  7. What happened to Q's lead? Yesterday he was up 60-40 and now is down 86-13! Was there some some of glitch? That is a pretty drastic change. Get out there and vote people!

Also said they have 3 holes to fill .... Wouldn't Grady have made 4?
  9. I still remember Jordan Parise trying to play the puck against Mankato back in 03 or 04. Ended up passing the puck right to Mankato for an open net goal.
  10. This is what I wrote in the comments of that article. Dave, I dont disagree with you on points 1 or 2, though with point 2 I do wonder how many goals are scored during the delayed penalty in a season; or how many are score on the delayed penalty AND the ensuing penalty kill. Point 3 doesn't make a ton of sense to me ... unless you are going to allow the ref to make a discretionary call based on injury. There are plenty of times where someone takes a cheap shot, hit from behind or to the head, and bounces right back up because they are fine. Contact to the head is "potentially" dangerous, but does not cause injury in EVERY instance. Why punish the player on the receiving end of a cheap shot by not allowing them to be on the ice, during a critical point in the game. If they need need further medical assessment, that should be up to the medical staff. If concern is for players that are diving or elaborating on a cheap hit, then that is a whole separate issue where refs should be assessing an additional penalty for diving or embellishment.
  11. Who is Sidney Crosby? Is he that guy in the NHL that cries all the time?
  12. Seriously, what a great time to be a Sioux fan! I know that 8th banner has eluded us, but the consistency in this program over the last 13-14 years is phenomenal, and we show no signs of letting up. Pretty amazing what this program has done, from the players to the fans to the coaches and so on. Really excited to see what UND continues to produce over the years. Bring it home next weekend boys!
  13. Wow, great week for UND hockey. This goalie looks huge and sounds like he will have some time to develop before coming to UND. As for Tychonik, hopefully he does actually land at UND. Sounds like he would be a 2018, but does anyone know what round in the NHL he would be projected at? Also would he be coming in the same time as Mismash? I seem to remember people on here raving about him being an elite talent too. Anyone know a project round for him?

Fast and Shifty! Yup, I'll take him

Good input. Always sucks to lose a few guys, but there is no reason to be down on this team at all. Fingers are still crossed on Grady, as that would be the biggest impact player we would miss. But it is a still a fairly rounded team. Defense is going to be strong again. Santiago will be better. Studs will be better. It should be a fun year!

    2016 Season

I have to say, with all of the"inside knowledge" some claim to have on this forum, I was really hoping someone would provide a little more insight into this Smith departure. Off the field issues? Grades? Location? Great athlete, but definitely wasn't a strong running back candidate at this level. Potential to be a good WR as he had the speed, but if he couldn't shake guys off and get open then speed is irrelevant. Would have been nice to see if that potential could have panned out, but he was far from a guarantee. Anyone know if he is transferring somewhere else to play, or is he calling it quits?

Still rumors that the Grady Train will be back. Hopefully thats not just people blowin steam .... see what I did there. Seriously though, having him back would be HUGE .... or as Mr Trump would say YUGE! YUGE! Watch the highlight clips of UND vs MT ST and UND vs N. Colorado; usually Santiago's long runs are followed up by the announcer talking about Grady's huge blocks.
  18. Obviously they were a pretty decent team, but its too bad we couldn't have closed the door on them in regulation. Doesn't mean we would have made it to the championship, but we certainly had the potential for a nice run. Too bad McDermott is leaving, but we will still be a solid team next year. Hooker should have an unreal year and we get to add Baker into the mix.

Have to remember Iwarri was an unproven assett. Very athletic, but that didn't translate well for him at RB, it may or may not have translated well at WR. Next man up, hopefully some of these young guys are ready to go.

I said after I saw Cloyd's highlight reel, he looks like a really big receiver. Hopefully he can be an immediate impact in the passing game. He should certainly be a physical player, and as he was a very good wrestler, I don't doubt he has the work ethic to be great.

    2016 Season

Great to hear that Toivenen will be on campus for the summer. Hopefully the majority of the freshman will be. Very disappointed to hear Smith is leaving, kid certainly had some potential. Any word on why is actually leaving?

    2016 Season

Like who? I'm sure they will mix Santiago into the passing game a bit this year, but he certainly won't move positions. Need Dulin to be ready to step in. Also need our Toivenen to be ready to go, as well as our TEs.
  23. Same issue I've had over the past two years. Productivity at work definitely takes a dip between the regionals and the frozen four. Spend way to much time on forums, blogs and looking for material to read. Absolutely jack for the Frozen Four, and really wish I could go, but I have a conflict. I barely got anything done last year, the day we played BU; unfortunately we all know how that finished. This is the year! Glad to know I have next Thurs and Fri off, and will be plenty busy leading up to the game. We know Denver, and I think we are the better team. They are obviously playing much better that when we swept them, but we were certainly not playing up to our potential when we got swept. UND needs to control this game early, and not let Denver into it. Outshoot Denver like they did to NU and Michigan. And limit guys like Heinen and Moore. UND 5-2
  24. It is definitely worth remembering all of these other early departures in a few weeks. If UND loses a few guys, there is no reason to hit the panic button. Other teams lose high end talent too, and we will still have a lot of youth returning, as well as some talented fresh faces. This team will be fine, and be competitive once again next season.
  25. Well that stinks, McDermott was fun to watch, though he 3pt shot seemed to slip a bit after his big game against Idaho St. Really was excited to see what this kid could do in 2 or 3 years. Next man up!
