FGCU has a very suitable rink. 5 minutes from campus...3 sheets of ice...The Everblades of the ECHL draw pretty well, especially in season(After Thanksgiving). They already field 2 ACHA teams and have been very successful at that level...have been to several ECHL games and with the weather you are a lot of tailgating leading up to games. They did a study awhile back on adding football and decided not to. Nice campus to recruit to.

I would like to see Heidi go through the application process. Most of the political issues that she falls out of line with most North Dakotans on really don't come into play as a College President. She is smart and personable and knows her way around the political landscape.

If he doesn't get the job because of political detractors, is that petty? They voted 9-0 for him to be the Presidential candidate.

You put up banners as your building and then as you get more meaningful banners to put up, you consolidate...you put up NCAA tournament banners and conference regular season banners and conference tournament banners and regional championship banners. Once you win a national title, then you take down the NCAA tournament banners and consolidate them into one banner with the years on it.

from what I have heard, it was my understanding that UND had told Donovan that they would like him to play a year in the USHL(either this season or next season) and he was agreeable and was going to play in the USHL this season...at some point over last summer he changed his mind and decided he would play High School hockey again this year and didn't want to play in the USHL the following season....not sure how that comes back on Berry.

USA sponsored and Government subsidized(i.e. Universities) should absolutely do everything they can to provide equal opportunity and access for women's sports whenever it is fiscally viable. Study after study show the value and benefits of athletic competition and being a part of a team has for men and women. Expecting Professional for profit sports leagues to effectively create socialized pro sports teams is ridiculous. Now if the leagues choose to do so that it entirely their decision but it already is creating a slippery slope as there are already rumblings in the WNBA as to why the women's players aren't paid more in comparison to their male counterparts. The arguments are that the teams should protect their "assets" and if they paid them more they wouldn't have to go overseas to play or hold down other jobs in the off season. I am not sure if they understand the definition of asset?

I'll add one more number. 105. Our Power Play conversion rate percentage and Penalty Kill Effectiveness rate percentage need to total 105 or better. If we met that number this year, that is a difference of 16 goals. Ideally those numbers are at 20%+ and 85%+ so both special teams units are effective but even if one is higher and one is lower, that is 16 goals that we either scored or didn't give up.

Any recruiting news would be for 21-22 or beyond at this point. I don't disagree that Berry maybe should have brought in some extra bodies last year and pushed a few of the guys who just completed their Junior seasons either out or to the press box with less scholarship money, but it is a fine line when you had a hand in recruiting them under Hakstol and you make that move too often and it catches up to you and the program.(see Eaves, Wisconsin)
