  1. I did not watch the game. I am saying if a team is taking cheap penalties then I have no problem rolling the top power play unit out to score some more. I have seen our coaches do it many times. Score is out of hand and game is over and the other team gets an interference or tripping penalty then roll out the 2nd unit or the 3rd and 4th lines, they two hand a guy or run someone from behind, screw it, make them pay.
  2. I don't have a problem with it. If it was a tripping penalty or interference penalty then I get it but UNO's last 4 penalties in this game were roughing, cross checking, cross checking(with a 10 minute misconduct) and a boarding call so load up and fire away.
  3. Free AHL feeds tonight. Grimaldi with a power play goal in the first. Mishmash also with the Admirals....Cole Smith is up with Nashville right now. https://www.watchtheahl.com/#/play/game/950474?audio=2
  4. They could add Women's Hockey to offset the additional 22 scholarships.
  5. Umm. We went 1-4-3 and finished 8th in 1994. Since the 1980 Miracle year... 1984---2-2-2 7th 1988---3-3-0 7th 1992---5-2-1 4th Went 2-3 and finished 7th with a team put together in similar fashion to this team in 2018.
  6. Grizzled experts I believe is the term he used. He said he was sitting in the penalty box with 6 minutes left in the semi final game against Denver while the refs were reviewing his penalty to possibly give him a 5 minute major and knew he was being destroyed on Sioux Sports and would probably have to transfer if UND lost. Pages 10-14 are pretty dystopian. Olson didn't get buried as bad as he thought he would but if they had scored I am sure he would have.
  7. Most would say we have a secondary at best logo now.
  8. Kootenay?
  9. Entirely up to NDSU. Move up for a chance to play for 1st and bowl games or stay in FCS and keep playing for 131st.
  10. To be fair, his NHL squad has played 1 game in 25 days.
  11. I remember talking with Blais at Peppers in Fargo after the 2003-2004 season. This was probably in May or June. He said Parise had been back in Grand Forks and was broken up to the point of tears and very regretful that he had signed after the season and said it was a huge mistake. Of course this probably triggered Bochenski to sign over the summer as well and then Blais ended up in Columbus in September. Can you imagine the 2004-2005 team with Parise and Bochenski? They finished second to Denver in Columbus and if we had todays replay rules would have won the national title in all liklihood since that team did not blow leads and the go ahead goal we scored would have counted. if you remember Mannino made a glove save so you knew the puck was in his glove and his glove was 2 feet deep in the net.
  12. The Palace Princesses! Have a couple great stories from that weekend when Ralph brought a plane full from Vegas. Too long to type it all out but we were staying at the Ramada that weekend which is where Ralph's entourage was as well. Hotel Bar stayed open until about 2:30-3 on Saturday night for those who were still there at 1 am. Had poolside rooms which turned out to be beneficial once the bar closed, some nice scenery. One part of story that we still laugh about. George(i think) who was one of Ralph's guys who had fingers as thick as my wrists came over to us and informed us the bar would be staying open a little later tonight if we wanted to stay and shook(crushed) all our hands. Went up to the bar to get a couple drinks for the table and George was up there getting a round as well and a couple of the girls were like "Geoooorge, can you buy us a drink" so he has them tell the bartender what they wanted and he makes the drinks and comes back to George and says $19.75 or something like that and George reaches in his pocket and pulls out a stack of cash and starts peeling through about 50-60 100's and all of a sudden stops and grabs a 50 and looks at it like how did that little guy get in there and throws it on the bar and walks away.
  13. I believe Noah Cates from UMD is being considered. Not sure if he has received an invite yet?
  14. UND is now in a position where we will need to stay at the top of the conference not just for home ice in the playoffs but for pairwise reasons as well. It is looking like there might not be much difference between the top 6 teams in the conference and all 6 are certainly in position to make the NCAA tournament. But if the top 6 are pretty jumbled up record wise UND is now in a position where if we are the 5th or 6th place team in the NCHC we are in the worst position of the 6 with SCSU, WMU, and UNO having the best non conference records which will be favorable for them when all the pairwise data is in. Sweep at home, split on the road is pretty critical for UND right now. 10-4 down the stretch would be ideal. 8-6 might be more realistic.
  15. Probably because we had 3-4 guys transfer out who would be starting and/or playing 20+ minutes a game.
  16. Know a guy who played there and he loved every second of the whole hockey and school experience.
  17. Ended up with 52 points 11 rebounds 9 assists 2 blocks 2 steals Currently averaging 34.8 ppg 8.8 rebounds 6.7 assists 3 steals 3.5 blocks
  18. #2 ranked Bismarck High beat #1 Century tonight. 106-103 Eaglestaff with 52. Guessing he had double figure rebounds and possibly assists as well.
  19. Eaglestaff is lighting it up tonight. 42 so far
  20. I would say BGSU has a better chance of joing the NCHC than WMU and Miami do of leaving.
  21. NCHC and The Summit League become the NCAC.
  22. Probability of advancing to the NCHC Tournament at the Xcel. 1st place-95% 2nd place-90% 3rd place-51% 4th place-51% 5th place-49% 6th place-49% 7th place-10% 8th place-5% Quick snapshot of current NCAA tournament layout Mankato(1)-UMD(8)-UMass(9)-UNO(14) Denver(2)-Q.U.(7)-Lowell(10)-Bentley(16) SCSU(3)-Michigan(6)-NE(12)-M Tech(13) UND(4)-WMU(5)-Minnesota(11)-Cornell(15)
  23. I think I had a seizure trying to read this.
  24. I never put too much into these games. They are a good game to work things out after being off for 20 days. UND always dials back the physicality in these games as well. That said we had quite a few forwards who were not noticeable today. Instead of calling out those who didn't show up I will credit those who did. Gaber, Ness, Albrecht, Hain, Constantini, Schmaltz.....i don't think I left anyone out.
  25. He is back home in Edmonton...he stayed since he hasn't been home much or at all since Covid.
