  1. What would really be funny although probably not very likely would be if Pelini ends up head coach at somewhere like Florida or Michigan and continues to produce 9 and 10 win seasons while Nebraska and whoever they hire goes through a few 6 win seasons.
  2. Over The Boards retweeted Jr Gates ‏@brentgatesjr 16m16 minutes ago Very proud to announce my commitment to play for @GopherHockey next fall. Thanks to everyone who has helped along the way. #Gophers No surprise Gates commits to Minnesota.
  3. The Vikings had a solid 1st half and the 2 punt blocks were a nice boost but the whole NFC South has been bad this year I thought I heard one of the announcers last week say the NFC South was like 5-26 this year against all other teams outside their division.
  4. I still think Poolman will eventually be back at D when Chyzk and/or OD get healthy but I like the way he has played at forward these past few games and think he brings more to the lineup than Murphy right now. I think Murphy has been alright this year but he is in the lineup to score and hasn't produced at all when given the opportunity. You can't worry about hurting a guys confidence you just have to put the lineup out there that you think is gonna give you the best chance to win that night and right now that is with Poolman at forward.
  5. I don't think Kill would take it anyway but it could help get shovels in the ground for the new practice facility in Minneapolis sooner. I think he will show loyalty to Minnesota and it isn't very often a head coach changes schools within the same conference. I see a lot of national media saying Nebraska fans better be careful what they are wishing for firing a guy who won 9 games 7 seasons in a row and I agree. I think Oregon OC Scott Frost who has Nebraska ties or Colorado State HC Jim McElwain might be the guy who ends up with the job.
  6. Similar game to last night but able to get the win tonight. Dominated at times again tonight especially in terms of puck possession but got in trouble again standing around and just making some lazy plays. Zane was great especially in the 3rd period tonight and some may not like the after the whistle stuff but I really liked the way the Sioux made sure if an Omaha player even really got close to Zane especially after the whistle they were gonna pay for it. I think there was a much more physical style and an edge that UND played with this weekend and I hope to see that going forward along with continuing to play more consistent throughout the game.
  7. Ole Miss beat Miss State, if Auburn beats Alabama tonight could the SEC be shut out of the playoff?
  8. Wisconsin beats Minnesota 34-24 to win the B1G West. Gophers did a decent job against Gordon especially in the 1st half but their DBs that were the strength of the team all year really struggled today and had some bad blown assignments.
  9. Brad E. Schlossman ‏@SchlossmanGF 1m1 minute ago It appeared that top prospect and former UW commit Brock Boeser was visiting UND last night. His Waterloo team had the night off.
  10. With all the injuries in 2011 I would say he and his team overachieved that season.
  11. Omaha hit 4 pipes? I saw 1 for Omaha and 1 for UND. UND got caught standing around in the 2nd after taking the lead and late in the 3rd but there were also periods were UND was the dominant team I think a tie was probably the rightful result tonight. Hoping the puck luck turns in UND's favor today and we don't give up any goals off our own defensemen tonight.
  12. Times where we dominated tonight but times where we got real sloppy and kinda lazy with the puck as well. I thought the team was noticeably more physical tonight than in previous games and really thought Poolman stepped up his physical play and really liked the way he played up front. Omaha is a decent team with a few skilled guys and hot right now especially relying on a goalie who is playing very well right now but I don't think they end up an NCAA team or top 4 in the NCHC this season as I really don't think Massa will be able to continue to put up the type of numbers he is. I'm not sure who the refs were but they were absolutely awful and I hope we don't ever see these guys again after this weekend. They seemed like they were trying to bow down to Blais letting Omaha do whatever they wanted to and hitting UND with some pretty weak calls and even when they did call something on Omaha they pulled some BS embellishment call out of nowhere to make sure UND didn't get too much of an advantage. I would guess we see another very physical game from the start tomorrow night and might see some things boil over but either way I think the Sioux come back with a more consistent game tomorrow and get a 2 or 3 goal win.
  13. I'd keep the freshman line together because of how well they played Saturday and just have Murphy replace OD.
  14. He visited Minnesota this weekend and his dad played baseball there I think that may end up being the landing spot.
  15. Not much change in the CFB Playoff Poll this week but a couple non power 5 teams do finally enter the poll in Boise State and Marshall. 1.Alabama 2.Oregon 3.Florida State 4.Mississippi State 5.TCU 6.Ohio State 7.Baylor 8.UCLA 9.Georgia 10.Michigan State 11.Arizona 12.Kansas State 13.Arizona State 14.Wisconsin 15.Auburn 16.Georgia Tech 17.Missouri 18.Minnesota 19.Ole Miss 20.Oklahoma 21.Clemson 22.Louisville 23.Boise State 24.Marshall 25.Utah
  16. Murphy was also out and I think that was probably performance based.
  17. I don't know if Nebraska will ever be the Nebraska of old again even if they do let Pelini go and get a different coach. I was happy to see for the 2nd year in a row though that the Gophers were just able to outphysical Nebraska on their way to a win.
  18. I think a lot of times you are worse off with a 3-on-0 than a breakaway or 2-on-0 just because you try to make sure everyone touches the puck and it slows you down a lot of times and takes away the rhythm you have. Agreed on Olson and a couple goals seemed like a real nice 21st birthday present for him I just hope he stays in the lineup consistently now.
  19. Sounded like a pretty solid game from the Sioux tonight although the final score was probably closer than it should have been. The all freshman line seemed to play pretty well and I really like the size, skill, and physicality of Olson and Poganski on the same line and Simonson seems like a solid fit in the middle of that line.
  20. Wisconsin beats Iowa 26-24 setting up a matchup with Minnesota next week to see who will represent the west in Indy. Michigan loses to Maryland at home and will have to beat Ohio State next week to become bowl eligible.
  21. I'm kind of hoping that Auburn knocks off Alabama and Ole Miss beats Miss State next week just to throw everything into a big mess in the SEC.
  22. They just always find a way to win although it hasn't been very pretty especially lately.
