  1. Responding to some comments about the SEC in the college hockey thread the SEC East is very average and even the leader Missouri lost to a bad Big Ten team Indiana. The SEC West is still probably the best division in college football but it is also very overrated by many people this year especially the depth of it and some other conferences/divisions have definitely closed the gap this year.
  2. I'm not sure about Saturday but Friday night is on FSN+.
  3. Because he isn't a forward he is a defenseman and has done a pretty decent job when he has been in the lineup this year. Additionally it isn't like we don't have forward depth our forwards are playing pretty well and there has been a good healthy scratch ready to come in if anyone struggles as was the case with Murphy in for Poganski Saturday and I'm sure Poganski will be pushing hard this week at practice to try to get back in the lineup Friday night.
  4. Parise is back in the lineup today and has a goal for the Wild who are up 2-0 on Winnipeg midway through the 1st.
  5. He has decommitted from Wisconsin and even though he is still going to take an official there it is hard to see him ending up there. He is a talented forward that would be a good addition to incoming class next year. I believe he plays on a line in Waterloo with 2 Gopher recruits and he has previously visited Minnesota and Michigan.
  6. Missed it late last night but #6 Arizona State lost at Oregon State 35-27.
  7. John Buccigross @Buccigross · 27m 27 minutes ago BucciMane #cawlidgehawkey Top 10 1 NDakota 2 Minnesota 3 BU 4 Michigan Tech 5 MinnDuluth 6 Miami 7 Vermont 8 Quinnipiac 9 Lowell 10 Minn St
  8. FSU is able to do it again beating Miami 30-26 after I believe Miami was up 26-13 in the 3rd quarter.
  9. I never saw a reason and thought it was a little bit of a strange move but their goalie tonight faced a lot more quality chances than the guy last night. No matter who they had in net tonight I don't think it would have changed the result at all.
  10. Bielema finally gets his first SEC win as Arkansas beats LSU 17-0. Georgia beats Auburn 34-7 I guess they figured out how to stop the run this week after Florida ran all over them a couple weeks ago. Miami leading FSU 26-23 late in the 4th does FSU have another comeback in them?
  11. Yes Farley is definitely one of the worst.
  12. Anyone see them celebrate the sweep they looked like they advanced to the frozen 4 with the win haha.
  13. More the style of game tonight I expected to see last night. Nice to get a 4-1 win that really probably should have been a lot worse. Was glad to see the refs make the right call on goal review as it seemed pretty easy to see that Zane was pushed into the net. Generated a lot more quality chances and didn't give up many quality chances with some better d zone coverage tonight and any time this team does that I like their chances. I know it is a while before we will see Miami again but I hope when we do somebody buries Coleman in the ice. Miami plays the type of hockey I hate where they dive all over the place whenever they are touched but take a cheap shot at a guy whenever he is vulnerable or has his back turned and watching Minnesota and Duluth during commercials some tonight I also noticed the Bulldogs have some of this style in their game again this year. Do you think Blasi looks for diving in recruits or just teaches it when they arrive on campus?
  14. He also decided to go for 2 when they were up 11.
  15. Notre Dame misses a field goal in OT and Northwestern makes one and wins 43-40.
  16. What was Notre Dame doing? Had the ball 2nd down with about 1:35 left up 3 and Northwestern out of timeouts and instead of taking a knee they run the ball and fumble and Northwestern recovers and then moves the ball into field goal range and gets the tying field goal to send it to OT. Melvin Gordon broke the single game rushing record with 408 yards and 4 TDs in a 59-24 Wisconsin win over Nebraska. Would guess we see two SEC teams in the top 4 this week after Alabama beat Mississippi State and TCU really struggled to win at Kansas.
  17. Top 25 finals so far today: #8 Ohio State holds on to beat #25 Minnesota 31-24 Virginia Tech upsets #21 Duke 17-16 #22 Georgia Tech beats #18 Clemson 28-6
  18. Saw this yesterday tragic story thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.
  19. Bad 1st period cost us tonight and I thought we looked real average tonight. The powerplay as a whole struggled tonight and I thought LaDue and Thompson really were bad together on the one unit. The defense overall needs to be better tomorrow and limit the quality chances Zane made a couple real big saves to give us a chance. Need to come out ready to play from the drop of the puck tonight and can't miss the net so much make Williams make some tough saves and really test him and really go hard to the net since he wants to dive around. Really liked the physical play from the Johnson line and hope we see more of that throughout the lineup.
  20. A little surprised to see both back so quick but also very happy. Even if MacMillan is a little rusty his return should definitely boost our faceoff numbers. With Hak already saying Olson will be in tonight it will be interesting to see who comes out at forward and defense my guess is Murphy and Panzarella but wouldn't be surprised if we also see Mattson back in for Thompson as well.
  21. North Dakota MHockey ‏@UNDMHockey 3h3 hours ago Dave Hakstol says freshman forward Trevor Olson will replace injured classmate Nick Schmaltz in the lineup tonight. As most expected, my prediction is a 4-2 Sioux win with goals from Parks, Johnson, Schmaltz, and Simonson.
  22. I would be very surprised if that was the case and would very much prefer just to see Olson put in the lineup rather than moving someone like Mattson or Thompson up front for a weekend and also having to put Panzarella in the lineup defensively then.
  23. I think depth is one of the strengths of this years team and now it will be tested. My guess is we won't see any of LaDue, MacMillan, and N. Schmaltz this weekend but even so the possible lines don't look too bad. Caggiula-Johnson-Parks Chyzk-Simonson-Olson OD-Gaarder-Poganski Pattyn-St.Clair-Murphy Mattson-Schmaltz Ausmus-Stecher Thompson-Poolman
  24. Always a big hole when a player with skill like Nick can't play but the depth on this team is one of its biggest strengths and I'd think Olson will probably be the one in for Schmaltz and he has been playing pretty good when he is in the lineup.
  25. Thanks, guess I needed to read that more carefully.
