I still think it is between UND and Minnesota for Mismash but if it was someone from the U16 team my guess would be Austin Pratt.
-
When I saw Cam was starting I was worried he would give up a few soft ones and it happened he just didn't look real comfortable and really struggled with rebound control I was glad Hak made the move for Zane when he did and would think he starts tomorrow and if we have a nice comfortable 3-4 goal lead in the 3rd Cam might get some time then. Really a dominating performance offensively throughout the lineup and fun to watch just wish a few of those pipes early would have found the net. Will be interesting to see the lineup tomorrow night wouldn't be surprised at all if we are without Caggiula and St.Clair and if that happens my guess is Mattson or Panzarella come in on D, Simonson comes in at forward, and Poolman starts at forward tomorrow.

Hopefully Grant Mismash?

Saw this on VolleyTalk in the D1 Transfers thread: "Unrelated, but North Dakota OH2 Anna Pioske will be transferring to Concordia-St Paul for her final 2 seasons of eligibility. She has been a key player for UND both years. Concordia is restocking pretty well." http://volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/56171/d1-transfers-2015?page=5

Hak was at the Fargo/Waterloo game last night probably checking out our commits mostly but also able to check in on Boeser.

I believe the TCU games were scheduled not too long after the Big 10 said all their football teams were going to quit playing FCS teams and improve their schedules going forward. I don't know if the conference has changed their stance on not playing FCS teams or what but looking at teams future schedules there are some FCS teams listed.
-
I was upset with getting rid of the North Carolina home and home but they didn't want out of the TCU games and those essentially replaced the North Carolina series. Kill did say it was tough to schedule it because of how close of friends he and Patterson are. They open up with what should be a very highly ranked TCU team on a Thursday night at TCF Bank next year as well.

Gil Brandt @Gil_Brandt 17m17 minutes ago Bret Bielema was offered #Nebraska job yesterday but decided to stay at #Arkansas.
-
I took a look at one of the Nebraska boards and not many happy about it most are just meh on it but some absolutely hate it. The funny things is some Oregon State fans wanted Riley fired anyway so I guess they kinda got their wish. I really wonder how many coaches said no to Nebraska before they got down to Riley.
-
Yeah that one is a surprise. I wonder if he was actually one of their top targets can't imagine many Nebraska fans will be happy about this.
-
True, but he was always moving up a level in previous jobs and this would be a move to another team in the same division. Nebraska does have significantly more resources but I'm also not sure he would want to deal with the pressure that would come with the job especially after the last coach they had won at least 9 games every year and got fired. Bielema seems like a good fit but I just don't see him leaving Arkansas right now.
-
As long as they get started on the new facilities I don't think Kill will leave. I think he really values the loyalty the school showed for sticking by him through his medical issues. I also think a lot of coaches might be kind of hesitant on the Nebraska job since they just fired a coach who won at least 9 games in 7 straight seasons. I don't know who has the expectations of only winning 4 powder puffs and 3 Big 10 games but the Gophers expectations are getting to the Big 10 Championship Kill and the team said it all year and their schedule was tougher this year and will be next year as well. Kill had his team playing for a spot in the Big 10 Championship game the last game of the season this year and the future looks very bright especially if they get started on the new practice facility this spring.
-
Even if Nebraska wanted Kill I really can't see him leaving Minnesota but it may help him get a raise or more money to facilities. I think Nebraska will end up with Oregon OC Scott Frost as their new head coach.
-
Makes more sense then that he did ask but it still just felt real out of place and awkward.
-
Agreed, I was watching the press conference and up to that point everything was going very good and you could see Hunter kind of joking around with some questions and really having fun with it but that question came out of nowhere and really threw off the whole thing. If the writer really wanted to ask about that question he should have asked Hunter after the press conference 1-on-1. I also liked Hunter's answer about metrics when he said you can usually trust what you see a lot more and he takes more value in that.
-
I'm not saying Hunter is gonna be a great or even a good defensive outfielder and I really don't see much if any improvement in outfield defense but I also don't think it is gonna be any worse. Guys like Parmalee and Nunez that were thrown in the outfield some last season aren't any better defensively than Hunter. I do think Hunter will be an upgrade offensively compared to the production they have got the past couple seasons from guys who he will be replacing. I do like the look of their lineup offensively but I still think they need a CF and pitching needs to improve. SS-Santana 2B-Dozier 1B-Mauer DH-Vargas 3B-Plouffe LF-Arcia RF-Hunter C-Suzuki CF-Hicks/Schafer

I could definitely see Baylor losing to Kansas State this weekend but even if they win if Alabama, Oregon, FSU, TCU, and Ohio State win this weekend I don't think Baylor gets in. Head of the playoff committee Jeff Long said yesterday that TCU has more quality wins and has looked better. TCU has looked very good most of the season and took advantage of having a lot of eyes on them Thursday night in beating Texas pretty soundly while Baylor struggled against Texas Tech this week. If Ohio State wins against Wisconsin I wouldn't be surprised to see them jump into the top 4. I also think it is crazy that Florida State is #4 yeah they have struggled against some teams they maybe should have beat by more but all they have done is won and it isn't like they are playing a bunch of MAC teams.
-
He will play RF and play very little DH as Vargas should be in that spot most of the time. Hunter will still be an improvement defensively in the OF compared to what they had at times the past couple years with Willingham out there. The Twins offense should be solid especially if Hunter can put up the same type of numbers he had last season. I thought the money was kind of high but apparently the other teams after him offered similar contracts as well. I don't mind Hunter but I was really hoping they would go after Nick Markakis to fill the corner OF opening.
-
UAB makes it official the president informed the team they would be ending their football program this afternoon. Just a horrible situation and really feel bad for their players, coaches, and fans.
-
Never seen him play but looks like a decent pickup for them from reports. NHL Central Scouting has him as a B prospect and he played in the 2014 All American prospect game. It was pretty easy to see he would end up at Minnesota after decommiting from Notre Dame and immediately visiting there and also seeing his dad played baseball there. I think Boeser is probably a better prospect and I have actually seen some say Boeser is the best uncommitted college prospect left because he would be a 3-4 year type player while Matthews would be 1 and done.
-
What would really be funny although probably not very likely would be if Pelini ends up head coach at somewhere like Florida or Michigan and continues to produce 9 and 10 win seasons while Nebraska and whoever they hire goes through a few 6 win seasons.

Over The Boards retweeted Jr Gates @brentgatesjr 16m16 minutes ago Very proud to announce my commitment to play for @GopherHockey next fall. Thanks to everyone who has helped along the way. #Gophers No surprise Gates commits to Minnesota.
-
The Vikings had a solid 1st half and the 2 punt blocks were a nice boost but the whole NFC South has been bad this year I thought I heard one of the announcers last week say the NFC South was like 5-26 this year against all other teams outside their division.
-
I still think Poolman will eventually be back at D when Chyzk and/or OD get healthy but I like the way he has played at forward these past few games and think he brings more to the lineup than Murphy right now. I think Murphy has been alright this year but he is in the lineup to score and hasn't produced at all when given the opportunity. You can't worry about hurting a guys confidence you just have to put the lineup out there that you think is gonna give you the best chance to win that night and right now that is with Poolman at forward.
-
I don't think Kill would take it anyway but it could help get shovels in the ground for the new practice facility in Minneapolis sooner. I think he will show loyalty to Minnesota and it isn't very often a head coach changes schools within the same conference. I see a lot of national media saying Nebraska fans better be careful what they are wishing for firing a guy who won 9 games 7 seasons in a row and I agree. I think Oregon OC Scott Frost who has Nebraska ties or Colorado State HC Jim McElwain might be the guy who ends up with the job.
