Not the last 2 seasons with Backstrom being injured a number of times, Harding dealing with MS, and Kuemper really being relatively unproven. I read in the StarTrib today that Kuemper is like 52nd in save % and Backstrom is 60th in save % you won't win many games with those kinds of numbers from your goalies.
-
The goaltending one is the huge problem it seems like Kuemper has been giving up an average of 2 soft goals per game and Backstrom does pretty much the same thing when he gets in there.
-
It isn't so much the team is a mess it is that one very important position is a huge mess. The goaltending is absolutely horrible 3 of the 4 goals Kuemper gave up last night were pretty soft and when Backstrom has played it has been the same thing.

UMD may be the best team we have played so far this year but I would put the chances of UND sweeping much higher than Duluth pulling off the sweep. My prediction is a Sioux sweep 4-1 Friday and 3-2 Saturday and that Farley dives all over the place and runs his mouth all weekend.
-
Most of the talk I've heard on him is it will be an upset if he ends up playing college hockey and not in the CHL.
-
Yeah didn't notice that right away but have seen it on multiple replays now. If both had been called like they should have Detroit would have had the ball around the Dallas 15 I think.
-
Detroit played well enough to win this one I don't think Dallas wins if they don't change the pass interference call to a no call I guess Jerry sure can pull some strings.
-
Hope the Lions can overcome the officiating and go on a nice game winning TD drive here.
-
Huge change of momentum there deciding to pick up the flag and I have no idea why they did. Pass interference looked to be the easy right call and they decide to pick up the flag a while after the penalty had already been announced.
-
Indy handles Cincy 26-10 maybe Dallas and Detroit can provide an exciting game. Really hoping the Lions can pull the upset in Dallas.

I think he is worth much more to the Vikings than what they would get back in a trade and also since they have paid him all year I don't see them cutting him like other some NFL writers do. I'd prefer to get AP back with a restructured contract but would take him back with his old contract too. The running game was definitely lacking this year and really didn't have a home run threat. If you add the home run threat through the running game in AP and a #1 WR this offense could be pretty good next year. The Vikings need at least 1 WR, S, LB, OL, and CB I would prefer not having to add RB to that list as well.

Solid performance thought the guys got better as the game went on and were able to get rid of some rust. Nice outing for Cam that should give him some confidence going forward. Some real good players for the U.S. team thought both of our commits were solid and could see some of the high end skill that Gersich has.

He is playing in the USHL this year I believe with Omaha.

Sioux lines for tonight: Chyzk-Caggiula-Poganski Simonson-MacMillan-Parks Pattyn-Johnson-Murphy OD-Gaarder-Olson Sanderson Mattson-LaDue Ausmus-Schmaltz Thompson-Poolman Panzarella Cam Johnson gets the start in goal. Also looks like Gersich will play for the U.S. tonight so we will have 2 commits playing tonight Gersich #18 and Evers #15.
-
Wild and Wolves are both on tonight instead.
-
Looking at their roster it looks like there are 4 guys who are uncommitted forwards Matthew Tkachuck and Auston Matthews and defensemen Caleb Jones and Steven Ruggiero. I would expect at least a couple of those guys to end up in the CHL I hope Matthews is able to make it back and can at least see the facilities even if he doesn't play tonight.

Andy Johnson @AndyJohnsonB5Q · 2h 2 hours ago Sounds like the race for Brock Boeser between Minnesota and North Dakota is much closer than most realize. Wisconsin distant third in fight.
-
My guesses and I would be more than happy to be wrong on most of them: Fabbro: 30% UND or CHL Jost: 30% UND or CHL Boeser: 15% Minnesota Thought he was Minnesota bound since he decommitted and have heard it from more and more people. Matthews: 25% UND, BC, BU, or CHL Another big potential recruit Grant Mismash: 50% UND or Minnesota
-
Definitely more important things for him to be worrying about. I'm not sure if he doesn't understand that TV controls the start times of games or if he is just stupid.

Over The Boards @OTBPuckWatch · 29m 29 minutes ago 98 F Max Gerlach (CO Thunderbirds U16) commits to North Dakota. Our #31-ranked uncommitted. Smaller skater with great quickness and skill. Over The Boards @OTBPuckWatch · 28m 28 minutes ago New #UND recruit 98 F Max Gerlach is torching the @T1EHL U16 loop with 21 goals in 19 games, plus 17 assists. Big week for North Dakota.
-
We do already have a few pretty solid 98's in Mattson, Senden, and Kiersted but Gerlach is a solid addition to them.
-
Probably more like the #8 Big 10 team and the #11 SEC team but your point still stands nothing for the Big 10 to chirp about in that game. Most people that have watched Iowa probably figured that would be the case as they just aren't a real great football team and really struggled with speed all year. After they got down by a couple TDs right away I knew it was over and watched the Under Armour All American game instead. Still a solid bowl season for the Big 10 and better than a lot of people thought it would be with one big game left to play although I think Oregon will beat Ohio State.
-
Another new commit this one is Max Gerlach. Max @Gerlach91 · 23m 23 minutes ago Very honored and excited to announce my commitment to the University of North Dakota. Thanks to everyone who has helped get here. #GoSioux

I think Iowa is a program that is on a downturn and they look horrible today while the Vols seem to be on the upswing a little bit and at least to me this result isn't real surprising. Anyone see earlier when the Iowa kick returner was about to step out of bounds and just decided to throw the ball forward?

Pitt wins the worst collapse of the bowl season. They led 31-6 in the 4th quarter and allowed Houston to come back with the aid of 2 onside kick recoveries and Houston finished off the comeback with a 2 point conversion for a 35-34 win.
