  1. Solid bounce back performance tonight with a lot of guys stepping up their game tonight. Duluth always plays a chippy game and I was glad to see the guys respond to it and take care of it themselves rather than hoping Anderson and Shep would actually take control of the game because that never happens. I'm pretty sure the Sioux bench had been all over them about all the embellishment that Duluth does and was glad to see they called one on the Pattyn punch but there where many more cases of it like when Decowski seemed to go down real easy when Zane gave him a shot to draw a penalty. Saw a few guys limping from slashes and know Parks left and later returned with a lower body injury but hopefully we didn't suffer anymore injuries and can get some guys healthy throughout the week.
  2. Looks like Janatuinen has 12 goals and 17 assists in 29 games for Sioux City this year and since he will turn 20 in February guessing he will come in next year. Keane will turn 18 in April so I wouldn't be surprised if he plays another year of juniors before coming in. I also like that the last 2 Canadian recruits both have played with and have some ties to Fabbro and Jost hopefully they can do some recruiting of their own for UND.
  3. It was like every time there was a faceoff the linesmen tried to make it a show and make sure everyone noticed them. There was one faceoff where I believe the linesman held the puck for almost a full minute before actually dropping it. I hope we don't have to see that show again tonight from the linesman just get the centers in and set and drop the puck right away.
  4. Kind of a lackluster performance tonight. Too much coasting and sloppy passing tonight lead to a lot of turnovers. I thought the reffing was really bad tonight Duluth got away with a lot of holding and hooking but I guess I shouldn't have expected something different with Anderson and Shepherd in charge. Zane was very good tonight and really gave us a chance to steal a win in the 3rd after a lot of standing around in the 2nd by most of our guys. Looking to tomorrow night I think we see Poolman up front and Murphy out of the lineup with Panzarella inserted into the lineup. I think we need to get more pucks to the net to really test the UMD goalie and crash hard as he really looked uncomfortable when guys went to the net and wanted to sell a call anytime somebody got close to him. I think we see a much better effort tomorrow night and come away with the win.
  5. I agree with you Rau got drilled from behind and I didn't think he really sold it at all. He bounced right back up and checked for blood on his face and looked like he was trying to shake it off it was an easy major call.
  6. OD-MacMillan-Parks Chyzk-Caggiula-Schmaltz Pattyn-Johnson-Poganski Simonson-Gaarder-Murphy Mattson-LaDue Ausmus-Schmaltz Thompson-Poolman McIntyre Johnson Hrynkiw I like the line combos tonight I think Chyzk could be a real nice fit with Caggiula and Schmaltz.
  7. I believe Adidas did buy Reebok and looking I now see Wisconsin who is another Adidas school looks to be wearing Reebok jerseys this year for hockey so I would guess nothing will change with the hockey uniforms.
  8. I am a big Nike guy and much prefer their products to Adidas or Under Armour but I think this deal probably needs to get done. I do hope that hockey is still able to wear Reebok jerseys and doesn't have to switch to Addidas if the deal does go through.
  9. Michael RussoVerified account ‏@Russostrib 12h12 hours ago #mnwild now has allowed a league-low 26.8 shots per game with a 29th-ranked .893 save percentage Pretty telling stat about how bad the goaltending has been for the Wild.
  10. Final 4-2 Chicago Crawford with 42 saves Backstrom with 16.
  11. Sounds like they've been talking to Carolina about Cam Ward but they better pick up the pace on those talks because they need a goalie real quick. The former Gopher Schroeder has had a nice game but hasn't been able to finish he might earn himself a chance to stay up with the big club.
  12. So with Olson and St.Clair out up front the options are put in Murphy or Sanderson or move Poolman to forward this weekend and play both Mattson and Panzarella. I like the way Poolman has played when he has had to play up front but I'm not sure Panzarella is a real great matchup with Duluth's speed so it will be interesting to see which option Hak decides to go with on Friday night.
  13. Judging by the tweets an eventful day at Wild practice definitely seems like a coach who knows his job is on the line. Michael Russo @Russostrib · 20m 20 minutes ago Yeo has stopped practicing and laying into the team #mnwild Michael Russo @Russostrib · 10m 10 minutes ago Koivu just left ice hurt. Smashed stick in half twice as he left. He's been dealing with a lower body injury & seemed to aggravate it #mnwild Michael Russo @Russostrib · 9m 9 minutes ago Yeo now skating the heck out of the #mnwild without pucks #herbies Michael Russo @Russostrib · 10m 10 minutes ago Yeo is going nuts in practice. Just slammed his stick in the middle of a scrum; screaming his head off. #mnwild Michael Russo @Russostrib · 8m 8 minutes ago Yeo just stormed off the ice after slamming his stick against the glass #mnwild. Michael Russo @Russostrib · 10m 10 minutes ago Kuemper just left the ice sick or hurt it appears. #mnwild Michael Russo @Russostrib · 12m 12 minutes ago #mnwild continuing practice without Yeo. Assistant GM Brent Flahr and director of hockey admin Shep Harder left stands when Yeo left ice
  14. Minnesota's returning RB's are Rodrick Williams(SR), Jacob Kirsch(RsJR), Berkley Edwards(RsSO), Josh Parks(RsFR), Rodney Smith(RsFR), Jeff Jones(RsFR). Edwards, Jones, Smith, and Williams all should get decent carries and the only two I could really see transferring are Kirsch and Parks. Both of them are walk-ons and neither of them played at all this year although Kirsch has played 2 years of JC at Rochester.
  15. Not the last 2 seasons with Backstrom being injured a number of times, Harding dealing with MS, and Kuemper really being relatively unproven. I read in the StarTrib today that Kuemper is like 52nd in save % and Backstrom is 60th in save % you won't win many games with those kinds of numbers from your goalies.
  16. The goaltending one is the huge problem it seems like Kuemper has been giving up an average of 2 soft goals per game and Backstrom does pretty much the same thing when he gets in there.
  17. It isn't so much the team is a mess it is that one very important position is a huge mess. The goaltending is absolutely horrible 3 of the 4 goals Kuemper gave up last night were pretty soft and when Backstrom has played it has been the same thing.
  18. UMD may be the best team we have played so far this year but I would put the chances of UND sweeping much higher than Duluth pulling off the sweep. My prediction is a Sioux sweep 4-1 Friday and 3-2 Saturday and that Farley dives all over the place and runs his mouth all weekend.
  19. Most of the talk I've heard on him is it will be an upset if he ends up playing college hockey and not in the CHL.
  20. Yeah didn't notice that right away but have seen it on multiple replays now. If both had been called like they should have Detroit would have had the ball around the Dallas 15 I think.
  21. Detroit played well enough to win this one I don't think Dallas wins if they don't change the pass interference call to a no call I guess Jerry sure can pull some strings.
  22. Hope the Lions can overcome the officiating and go on a nice game winning TD drive here.
  23. Huge change of momentum there deciding to pick up the flag and I have no idea why they did. Pass interference looked to be the easy right call and they decide to pick up the flag a while after the penalty had already been announced.
  24. Indy handles Cincy 26-10 maybe Dallas and Detroit can provide an exciting game. Really hoping the Lions can pull the upset in Dallas.
