My guess on initial lines Murphy-Ma. MacMillan-Grimaldi Caggiula-Tambellini-Parks O'Donnell-St.Clair-Johnson Gaarder-Pattyn-Rodwell Extra Mi.Mac-Chyzk-Sanderson D Simpson-LaDue Ausmus-Schmaltz Mattson-Stecher/Thompson Extra Panzerella-Stecher/Thompson G Gothberg Saunders Hrynkiw If OD plays like he has I could very easily see him on the bench again and Mi. MacMillan or Chyzk taking his spot and I think that is the biggest competition for a forward spot. It was tough for me to decide between Stecher and Thompson right now so I just listed them both and I think right away we could see one playing Friday and the other playing Saturday but I think it could eventually end up being that Mattson is the odd man out of the lineup if he struggles early like he did some last year and both Thompson and Stecher meet expectations.

Not real suprised about the Senkbeil transfer news, really can't blame the guy for trying to find a better situation for playing time. Also I am probably in the minority but I like using the shootouts to break ties in the regular season and I would bet if you surveyed the teams most players would be in favor of it as well, I am just in the portion of people who can't stand a game ending in a tie.
-
I'd be very suprised if he doesn't end up a Gopher. Butler, Creighton, and Xavier are the others he is really considering and a pretty small chance still left for Iowa State.
-
I say stay with Chelsea Dagger and I like it as well, I really don't see it changing anytime in the near future unless the team were to request a change and I don't think that will happen.
-
If you are talking about Ballard some Canuck fans I have talked too would definitely argue that. They put a lot of blame on Vigneault jerking Ballard around and never letting him settle into a role. They said for the first couple weeks of this season he and another player were their best pair of d-men but then Vigneault broke them up and both struggled for a while. They think the Wild got a steal in Ballard especially for the price and think he will play more like he did in Florida.
-
No problem with it and kind of like the signing. I think he will fit well and he has been a different player than what many think the last couple of seasons. He will help the Wild and a lot of people will be suprised at the way he plays now compared to what a lot of people think he is based on past reputation.
-
Wouldn't be suprised if Grimaldi leaves early even though I don't think he should. Also a possibility that MacMillan or Parks could but neither probably should unless they have a huge season this year. If you look at some guys who didn't play much last year and probably won't play much this year you gotta think that some could maybe look to transfer just to find playing time. Guys like Chyzk, Sanderson, Panzerella, and Senkbeil( last 2 may be less likely because they would only have 1 season left) could look to transfer as it looks like they will have a tough time getting on the ice. These things usually have a way of working themselves out and I trust Hak and the rest of the stuff have a good idea of what is going to happen.

Ryan Gropp who visited last weekend has committed to the Sioux. Ryan Gropp@Gropper816m Committed to the University of North Dakota! Very excited for the opportunity #sioux Retweeted by Schlossman Schlossman@SchlossmanGF4m UND gets a commit from Ryan Gropp, arguably the top 1996-born player out of the BCHL.
-
Ryan Gropp was recently at UND for a visit and would be another great get, looks like he and Wade Murphy are friends too which could maybe help. Wade Murphy@wmurphy937m Great to see my boy @Gropper8 here at North Dakota last night, kid is sorta a beauty #stallmate #mitts #swag Retweeted by Schlossman Schlossman@SchlossmanGF1m That means Ryan Gropp, believed to be the top '96 in the BCHL, visited UND this weekend.

No reason really just thought each was a good fit where I slotted them, tried to have the first 2 lines be pretty balanced and thought Caggiula fit really well with MacMillan, also thought it would be a good opportunity for the couple freshmen who seem to be pretty good at putting the puck in the net to play with Rocco right away.
-
I think I would like to see it start this way: Caggiula-Mark Mac.-Parks Grimaldi-Tambellini-Murphy O'Donnell-St.Clair-Johnson Gaarder-Pattyn-Rodwell Simpson-LaDue Thompson-Schmaltz Ausmus-Mattson Gothberg Saunders Hrynkiw Extras Chyzk-Mitch Mac.-Sanderson-Senkbeil Stecher-Panzarella I think the toughest decisons will be who plays that last D spot because I think it is going to be hard to keep Stecher out of the lineup too often and it is really gonna be tough for Hak to decide who plays on D each night. I think the toughest decison on the forwards would be that 3rd line wing spot and whether somebody can step up and take it or if it will be revolving between guys like Chyzk, Mitch Mac. and OD again.

Avery Peterson of Grand Rapids was selected by the Minnesota Wild #167 overall and I believe he has already visited campus. The 2 players that I am hoping we can land right now are Peterson who is a bigger skilled forward and defenseman Jack Dougherty of St.Thomas Academy who was committed to Ohio State but decommitted after the coaching change.
-
They didn't push Skjei to major junior last season and he ended up with the Gophers, I blame JT Miller more for that situation and think he may have just been kind of using us. I believe a lot of the incoming players are already on campus to for summer classes and I would be pretty suprised if Tambellini wasn't here when the season starts.
-
Its hard to go wrong with taking any of Drouin, Jones, or Mackinnon but I would take Jones #1 and think in the future he will be the best player to come from this draft.
-
Pretty good company for Toews to be in. Schlossman@SchlossmanGF59m Since 1913, two players have captained two Stanley Cup champs at age 25: Wayne Gretzky and Jonathan Toews.
-
Hossa had a disk problem in his back and couldn't feel his foot at times while playing, Quenville admittedToews had "bell rung" during game 5.
-
Maybe some would but I'm a Hawks fan and just enjoy that Toews is a part of it. I follow all the Sioux players around the NHL but I'm definitely not a fan of some of the teams, definitely won't be a Kings fan even though I really like Frattin.
-
Great finish to a great season for the Hawks!
-
I was watching the CBC opening and they were showing fans coming into the arena and one of them looks in the cameral and yells either "Thanks Toronto: or "Thanks Maple Leafs" and I couldn't help but laugh.
-
Couple more good prospects decommit from Ohio State, would be very interested in the defenseman Dougherty of St.Thomas Academy who I think may have made a visit to UND during last season. Sheehy is a good forward prospect from Burnsville but I would kind of doubt UND would go after him with the forwards that will be arriving in the next couple seasons. Andy Johnson@AndyJohnsonB5Q2h Ohio State hockey recruits Tyler Sheehy, Jack Dougherty decommit after Osiecki firing http://sbn.to/177AID6
-
I think Frattin could really thrive there and think the Kings come out the winners of that deal.
-
Sounds like no discipline coming for Boychuck but would guess if it was the regular season he would be sitting for at least a game or 2. Quenville said he thought it was a good sign Toews stayed on the bench and said he is day-to-day and Toews was seen taking pictures and talking to fans after the game. Bergeron's status doesn't seem real clear other than he will fly home with Boston, some are speculating it may have been an inner body injury like a spleen injury.
-
1 win away for the Hawks! Will be interesting to see what the status is on Toews and Bergeron. Even though there was no call on the hit on Toews I wouldn't be suprised to see a fine or suspension for Boychuck as it more than likely will be reviewed. Glad to see Crawford bounce back with a better performance and I remember some people wondering if the Bruins would miss Thomas in the net and I think Rask has answered that question pretty soundly with his great playoff performance but also a solid regular season as well.
-
2 year contract was up and the Gophers ended up not renewing it for the coming season.
-
I don't know if I believe he is not hurt only 3 shifts last night and on one of those shifts he made a nice dfensive play knocking a pas by Boston out of the air and then firing a nice stretch pass on what I believe was Sharps breakaway chance. As a whole the Hawks D need to do a better job of not turning over the puck and making better passes, but I think the biggest thing is being stronger in front of the net and providing some better net front coverage.
