  1. I voted for Simpson in the poll and now with the news of Forbort signing I would probably go with: C- Simpson A- Rodwell A- Pattyn
  2. Forbort signing now official Schlossman‏@SchlossmanGF21m Kings announce the Forbort signing officially RT @LAKings: Forbort signed. http://ow.ly/jNzSI Derek Forbort‏@derek4bort30m Can't thank the awesome people of Grand Forks enough for everything over the past 3 years. What a special place. #rolltribe
  3. Helene Elliott‏@helenenothelen10m Kings have agreement w/2010 1st-round pick Derek Forbort. contract to be signed. he's scheduled to report to AHL Manchester Saturday.
  4. I'm not sure exactly when he was expected to go to DU but everything I have seen has been for next season.
  5. Sounds like Gage Ausmus (EGF) is considering other schools now that Gwoz has been fired. I think he would probably want to come in next year so I don't know that UND would be an option but I think he would look at Duluth and maybe Minnesota would be a possibility now with the Alt news?
  6. I missed this one about a week ago but it looks like junior defenseman Jack Dougherty of St.Thomas Academy has committed to Ohio State. I think he had visited UND during a game this season and he looked like a pretty good prospect in watching him but I don't know if he ever got a Sioux offer. I know we talked about Joey Anderson of Hill-Murray after seeing him play as an 8th grader for them during the state tournament but it looks like he would be a tough kid to get out of Minnesota after coming across one of his tweets. Joey Anderson‏@JTA_829 Mar Every Minnesota boys dream to wear that maroon and gold someday #gophers
  7. My brother and some friends that are Gopher fans won't be sad at all to see him sign.
  8. I don't think he will be the last player to leave DU early this season either, sounds like a lot of players unhappy about the Gwoz firing and looking at their other options.
  9. Doesn't look like good news on Forbort but not really unexpected. I'm sure he is gonna get good money but I can't imagine him seeing any NHL time next year and if thats the case no matter what player it was I would always rather see them go back to college. Schlossman‏@SchlossmanGF7m Source says Derek Forbort signing with Kings is imminent. Could happen as soon as today. Three-year deal.

I'm sure he didn't and I would guess he will get another shot in the future but I was just trying to prove a point to say there are so many players that at least get a game or a short stint in the NHL that to say Kristo or Knight will never play a game in the NHL is absurd to me.
  11. Some good official news from Simpson. Dillon Simpson‏@Simmer1816m For the number of you who seem to think I may be planning on leaving UND, I'm not going anywhere #senioryear
  12. I agree with you and that is one of the main reasons I would like them not to use a new nickname in the future and instead say we just aren't going to have a nickname because more people would just continue to refer to us as the Fighting Sioux and I'd be very happy with that.
  13. Don't listen to them Derek, just talk to former players about the decison and you will realize it is best to spend another year in Grand Forks.
  14. Congrats to both Danny and Andrew! I would expect to see Corban sign pretty quick as well and I believe Joe is a Blackhawk draft pick and Carter is a free agent.
  15. Went over to Montreal's HF boards to see what they were saying and they are all excited for the most part and a number of posters think he will get at least a few NHL games this season.
  16. No, I think people are just assuming he will.

Haha exactly as I thought you can't even name one guy. I don't know what you have against Knight and Kristo but you should just stop with this never play in the NHL thing because this argument is making it look like you know nothing about hockey.

Why don't you name some of these players then?
  19. I was wondering that too, Gage Ausmus of EGF is scheduled to go to DU next year and played at the development team and he would certainly be a great pick up if the Gwoz decison makes him consider other opportunities.

You must not watch much NHL, look at some of the guys on some rosters currently. Knight is the type of guy who will definitely get a shot as he is great faceoff guy and a great 2 way forward. Kristo is a pure goal scorer with good speed, Casey Wellman played for the Wild and JT Brown got a chance with the Lightning last year and those are just 2 guys who got a shot with some NHL games soon after leaving college. Sooner or later both Knight and Kristo will get a shot in the NHL and you'll be the one looking foolish.

Rocco will have the toughest task of the 3 to get a shot in the NHL, Knight and Kristo are almost locks to get a lock. Kristo could get a look this season in the NHL if he decides to sign with Montreal pretty quick but regardless I would bet a lot of money that Knight and Kristo both play in the NHL.
  22. I agree I wouldn't be suprised if Jensen signs with Detroit with the situation they have with defensemen right now and think LA could be just as likley if not more likely to sign Gravel rather than Forbort. Another guy that could sign for them would be Nic Dowd with the Kings. I see St.Cloud being more around the middle of the pack next year. If I had to rank them right now with just guessing on early departures I would go: 1.Miami 2.UND 3.Denver 4.St.Cloud 5.Omaha 6.Duluth 7.Western Michigan 8.Colorado College
  23. Makes a lot of sense for Schmidt to sign being a FA, probably got a big deal and Washington is a good situation for him to try to get to the NHL quick and might even alllow him to get some time this season. Guessing Nashville really pushed Budish to sign and it was tough decison for him after his comments about coming back. I would guess Bjugstad will leave but I thought he would last year too. It doesn't make sens to me for Haula to sign with the depth the Wild have, Haula would be spending all next year in Houston if he decides to sign.
  24. BU has already named David Quinn as head coach.
  25. I thought I saw some things on twitter that said he had told reporters he would be negotiating an extension and there was a big blow up between him and the school while trying to negotiate. Also sounds like they weren't happy with NCAA success, I hate Gwoz but this is a dumb move by Denver IMO.
