This 1st period is a good example of how important goaltending is in these types of games. Hartzell makes some big saves for Qunnipiac and may have St. Cloud frustrated while Faragher has given up a goal on almost every chance Quinnipiac has had and now Quinnipiac is thinking throw it on net from everywhere because it is gonna create a chance.
-
SCSU has looked pretty good in most spots except for maybe the most important position on the ice their goaltender.
-
SCSU needs to pull Faragher! Qunnipiac has scored on every chance they've had and they've been pretty weak for the most part.
-
Tough for the Huskies to be down 2-0 right now, I really think they have had the far better of the play but a lucky bounce for a weak goal on a somewhat weak penalty and a lucky bounce on to a guys stick with a wide open net.
-
Haha yes I believe that was part of it as well.
-
Anyone else catch what one of the SCSU guys said in the huddle around their goalie, sounded like "every team we've faced in the WCHA is better than these guys"
-
I guess I'm kind of pulling for Lowell. I don't want to see Yale win it and I really don't want to see Quinnipiac win it for some reason either. I'm not sure how I feel about St.Cloud winning it because it would look better to have a team from the conference win it but then I think about how their fans would probably act if they win and that makes me think it would be fine to see them lose too.

Someone also asked Schloss about who he would expect to come in this season and he answered with forwards: Wade Murphy, Adam Tambellini, Luke Johnson and defensemen: Paul LaDue, Keaton Thompson, and Troy Stecher. I would also assume we would pick up a goalie to bring in next fall sometime in the next few weeks.
-
Makes more sense to bring him in 2014 when we could see some potential early departures from this next seasons junior class and also the fact we have pretty good depth at forward for next season already.
-
Probably not as physical, not sure who I would compare him to maybe somwhat like a Rowney with a little better scoring touch. Looks like Olson and his team will be in Fargo for games on Friday at 7:30 and Saturday at 7:00 if anyone wants to get a look at him.
-
Definitely a scholarship and deserves it too, I'd be suprised if he doesn't contribute right away he is a really nice pick up.
-
I would expect next year but who knows as we already have some depth for next year, I read somewhere he would be an overager for USHL next year though. Schloss also expects next season http://undhockey.are...es.com/?p=94207 EDIT: Schloss changed it and said Olson will be coming in in the fall of 2014.

Really like this kid, I watched him a number of times at Duluth East the during his high school career and thought he was the best player they had most of the time. He battled some injuries his senior year in high school or he would have most likely already been committed.
-
Now its time for the Gwozdecky to Maine rumors to start flying.
-
Yeah who knows, but I know a lot of guys who have wanted to get out of a place and been back to that place to stay within a couple months. I got out of Northwest Minnesota for college and after the first semester I knew I had to get back to Northwest Minnesota. A lot of times people want to get out of a place because thats where they've been forever but when they do get out they realize how much they really do belong there. If I had to guess though I would guess he ends up at Duluth just because of their D and scholarship situation and he would most likely be their top d-man the day he stepped on campus.
-
I'd love for us to land Ausmus too and as some have said now that he has been away for a couple years maybe the whole getting out of GF thing won't matter to him anymore.
-
Not sure on that either but it could make sense. I might be mistaken but I thought he moved to EGF when he was older like in his teenage years so he really hasn't grown up his whole life in EGF either.
-
Not suprising I had been hearing he was looking elsewhere since the news broke. One school that I've heard he could end up at next year is Duluth, I'd love for him to end up at UND but I just don't know how well the fit is scholarship wise since it sounds like he really doesn't want to play another year of juniors. I don't think he will be the last DU recruit to do this either.

Another tweet from Evers Christian Evers@CEvers9752m Can't wait to be apart of UND in a few years. That's what I mean when I said "Can't wait for things to play out." #SorryForTheConfusion

I voted for Simpson in the poll and now with the news of Forbort signing I would probably go with: C- Simpson A- Rodwell A- Pattyn

-
I'm not sure exactly when he was expected to go to DU but everything I have seen has been for next season.
-
Sounds like Gage Ausmus (EGF) is considering other schools now that Gwoz has been fired. I think he would probably want to come in next year so I don't know that UND would be an option but I think he would look at Duluth and maybe Minnesota would be a possibility now with the Alt news?
