  1. Agreed, I think this thing goes the full 7 and wouldn't be at all suprised to see another overtime game or 2. Would guess Hossa is back for game 4 but I really have no idea on the severity of his injury and most likely nobody will as they will just call it an "upper body injury" when talking about it.
  2. Hope the 2 guys who reffed tonight are done for the season now, I thought they were absolutely horrible. Boston seems to have all the bounces going their way right now and even when Chicago has Rask beat they can't finish it right now. Still confident in the Blackhawks but they have to figure out a way to get their powerplay going, they have way too much talent to struggle this much on the powerplay and I think the big problem for them is spacing and everything seems just a little off on it right now.
  3. I was waiting for the move as a Hawks fan and like it. When they put Bollig out in it felt like they were trying to add more physicality and go head to head with the Bruins while Stalberg gives a lot more speed and that is what the Hawks are all about and the speed is what has given some Boston d-men problem at times. Hopefully the Hawks can get right back into this one but there is no panic here and there shouldn't be any panic from the Hawks even with a loss tonight. Not a fan of the reffing tonight and would like to see the after the whistle the stuff cleaned up a lot even though with the way the Hawks PP is going it probably wouldn't help much.
  4. Agree I think either team could easily be up 2-0 so it is probably fitting that it is a 1-1 series right now. It has got to be frustrating for the Blackhawks how little space the Bruins make available and how well they clog the neutral zone and lanes, and the biggest frustration has to be how many shots the Bruins block. I think the Bruins are probably the most physical team and I think one mistake the Hawks may be making is putting Bollig in the lineup for more physical pressence and taking Stalberg out with all his speed. I think there have been a few times the Hawks speed has caused the Bruins D problems and think the Hawks will probably put Stalberg in for Monday's game to try to add more speed. One thing to keep an eye on as the series goes on is how the Bruins top 3 D are as they have played a lot of minutes these first couple games and if this series goes 7 like a lot of people think it will will their level of play dwindle at all with all the minutes they will have played by that time.
  5. I disagree Hawks need to clean up the turnovers but they completely dominated the 1st half of the game yesterday. Right now this series has some of the same feeling as the Hawks/Detroit series to me where Howard really just kept Detroit in it but eventually they started to get to him. I think it is very beneficial to Chicago that there isn't an extra day of rest between game 2 and 3 and think the Hawks will take game 3 on Monday.
  6. Same way I was thinking about it, put Kane and Toews on seperate lines in an effort to at least keep one of them away from Bergeron and Chara. I am a Hawks fan so of course I'm picking the Hawks to win the series, I think the thing that proves to be the difference is the overall depth of the Hawks.
  7. True and I will be one of those people.
  8. That's my view on it too.
  9. Don't think there are a whole lot of people who feel that way. I think most would rather just stick with North Dakota and go without a nickname because than most will just continue to refer to the Sioux while if we had a new nickname others would just refer to us as that which I think a lot of people don't want to see happen and for good reason.
  10. I really don't think it will have a huge effect on us at all. I think we will still get a lot of the players we want from the same areas we have recruited over the years.
  11. I'd agree with you especially if the Avs are the ones who take him.
  12. He's been pretty good and I think the reason people don't talk about him more is because he will be solid for a couple games and then give up a bad or soft goal and people will be all over that. I am a Chicago fan and obviously want the Hawks to win the cup and would love to see it be against the Penguins, it would be a great series with so much speed and skill on the ice.
  13. Good get for Mankato and I think good choice for Stepan. I had heard he had no interest in going to Ohio State after the firing of their coach and Ohio State was trying to block him from going to any B1G or NCHC school and if that was the case and he wanted to stay close to home(don't know but could be a reason rather than going out east) it would really have been between Bemidji and Mankato and I think Mankato will have a very nice future in the WCHA.
  14. He has all the makings right now, I watched him in the state tournament last season and not many 8th graders even play for the Hill-Murray program and much less stand out the way he did. You're right though you never know some kids keep developing and some guys just fall off and stay at the same level. This was a tweet from Anderson a couple months ago so you wonder what changed in his mind from then until now unless he didn't have a Gopher offer yet but I'd be very suprised if that was the case. Joey Anderson‏@JTA_829 Mar Every Minnesota boys dream to wear that maroon and gold someday #gophers
  15. Joey Anderson of Hill-Murray committed to Duluth today. A lot of people believed he was a future Gopher so it is a big suprise to see him go somewhwere else. Anderson is a huge get for the Bulldogs and will be a freshman at Hill-Murray next season.
  16. Yeah definitely agree with you as I'm a pretty big Gopher baseball fan. They primarily recruit the midwest and I would say when they have tried to go west for a recruit they really haven't had much success with them. The 2 guys from California on the team now very rarely play and the recruits they have coming in are about 4 from Minnesota, 2 from Illinois, and 1 from Idaho so you definitely can be successful recruiting the Midwest like they do with Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin being the states that most of their players come from and couple from other neighboring states like Iowa and South Dakota. It definitely appears some more northern teams are starting to be more competitive at the D1 level with Indiana in the hunt to host a regional and 3 B1G teams probably getting into the tournament. The Gophers should also have 2 pitchers (1 from Illinois and 1 from Minnesota) drafted in the first 4 rounds of the MLB draft this year and it sounds like 2-3 Minnesota high schoolers could be taken pretty early in the draft as well with one of those guys being committed to Florida.
  17. Not exactly sure what you are trying to refer to but I do know that for football that much of section 6 and section 8 play their championship games in either the Alerus Center or the Fargodome and the state really has no problem with it.
  18. Kind of figured Gersich wouldn't be playing high school hockey next year but figured he'd be with a USHL team rather than NTDP and even though I like to see these guys stay with their high school programs because it is better for Minnesota high school hockey in both these situations it is probably in their best interest to play at another level next season and probably even more so for Gersich rather than Poganski.
  19. Wasn't actually at Ohio State yet but just a incoming recruit and he wasn't very happy when they decided to make a coaching change.
  20. Haha no not that type of Gleasons versatility the part as in coaches may be able to put him at forward or defense.
  21. I think that very well could be the case, didn't some people talk about how Stecher would look at forward even before we got Ausmus. Stecher seems to be a very good skater with a lot of offensive skill and looks to maybe have the same type of versatility that Gleason provided.
  22. Looking like Crisfield may no longer be a recruit. Heisenberg no longer has him listed as a recruit for us and his twitter profile no longer shows committed to the University of North Dakota.
  23. Most places I've seen have him about 6'1" between 190 and 205 I would guess Panzerella will be one of the D out most games and then I'm not sure if they will try to have someone delay a year but I would be very suprised if that were Ausmus or Thompson so really the only possibility I see of someone waiting a year to come in is if Stecher is delayed a season.
  24. I would guess if one doesn't come in next year it would be Stecher but could see all 4 coming in as well.
  25. Rumor is he wants to go to Minnesota and Ohio State is trying to make sure that doesn't happen but I'm not sure if Stepan has publicly said anything yet. If he really wants to go to Minnesota he could decide to play another year of juniors and then he would be free to sign anywhere next season.
