  1. Hossa had a disk problem in his back and couldn't feel his foot at times while playing, Quenville admittedToews had "bell rung" during game 5.
  2. Maybe some would but I'm a Hawks fan and just enjoy that Toews is a part of it. I follow all the Sioux players around the NHL but I'm definitely not a fan of some of the teams, definitely won't be a Kings fan even though I really like Frattin.
  3. Great finish to a great season for the Hawks!
  4. I was watching the CBC opening and they were showing fans coming into the arena and one of them looks in the cameral and yells either "Thanks Toronto: or "Thanks Maple Leafs" and I couldn't help but laugh.
  5. Couple more good prospects decommit from Ohio State, would be very interested in the defenseman Dougherty of St.Thomas Academy who I think may have made a visit to UND during last season. Sheehy is a good forward prospect from Burnsville but I would kind of doubt UND would go after him with the forwards that will be arriving in the next couple seasons. 6. I think Frattin could really thrive there and think the Kings come out the winners of that deal.
  7. Sounds like no discipline coming for Boychuck but would guess if it was the regular season he would be sitting for at least a game or 2. Quenville said he thought it was a good sign Toews stayed on the bench and said he is day-to-day and Toews was seen taking pictures and talking to fans after the game. Bergeron's status doesn't seem real clear other than he will fly home with Boston, some are speculating it may have been an inner body injury like a spleen injury.
  8. 1 win away for the Hawks! Will be interesting to see what the status is on Toews and Bergeron. Even though there was no call on the hit on Toews I wouldn't be suprised to see a fine or suspension for Boychuck as it more than likely will be reviewed. Glad to see Crawford bounce back with a better performance and I remember some people wondering if the Bruins would miss Thomas in the net and I think Rask has answered that question pretty soundly with his great playoff performance but also a solid regular season as well.
  9. 2 year contract was up and the Gophers ended up not renewing it for the coming season.
  10. I don't know if I believe he is not hurt only 3 shifts last night and on one of those shifts he made a nice dfensive play knocking a pas by Boston out of the air and then firing a nice stretch pass on what I believe was Sharps breakaway chance. As a whole the Hawks D need to do a better job of not turning over the puck and making better passes, but I think the biggest thing is being stronger in front of the net and providing some better net front coverage.
  11. The shutdown D pair of Chara and Seidenberg was also a -3 and -2 respectively last night.
  12. Leddy has to be hurt, only 1 shift in the 1st period, 2 in the 2nd, and none in the 3rd or OT. He hasn't been any worse than Oduya or even Hjalmarsson with all the turnovers he has had so I don't believe it is just a performance issue and gotta think there is something else there. I've actually thought Leddy was pretty decent the first 2-3 games of the series and really did a nice job moving the puck and jumping in the play.
  13. Seabrook comes through in overtime again! Gotta believe if the rest of the games are this wide open it is to the Hawks advantage. Crawfords gotta be better then he was tonight going forward, I can't fault him for the flukey goal off the glass but a couple of those goals were pretty bad, he has to know the Bruins are gonna target glove side so he better be ready for that. Hawks finally got a powerplay goal too by just keeping it simple and getting a shot from the top with some traffic around Rask and crashing the net.
  14. Without Crawford reverting to past seasons form this game is over. Hawks have played pretty well aside from the goaltending position but with the sudden death situation and the way Crawford has played tonight it has got to be a scarry situation for them.
  15. Hawks look pretty good but a bad goal for Boston and a really flukey bounce have the Bruins right in it and with all the momentum again. Some might look at the Hawks having 4 goals and think Rask wasn't that great tonight but they would be wrong as he has been very good again and he came up huge on a couple great chances.
  16. Pretty good 1st for Hawks up until the bad clear attempt and weak goal and that seems to have given the Bruins life. Thought that early interference call on the Hawks was pretty weak and why did the ref wait so long to make the call on the trip on Keith towards the end of the period?
  17. Sounds like Bickell, Toews, and Kane will be together again as top line and that line looked very good in the LA series. I think they could be very dangerous tonight and gotta believe the Hawks will come out flying right away.
  18. Boston deserves a lot of credit for taking away lanes but Chicago also deserves a lot of blame for not adjusting. The other thing that Boston has done a good job of is making it very tough for the Hawks to gain the zone and get control, biggest thing the Hawks need to do is simplify their game.
  19. There are a lot of problems with their powerplay and it has been pretty bad the whole postseason. One of there biggest problems is their spacing is really bad right now, they also seem to be overhandling the puck and really not making the simple play. I agree with you it is probably best to simplify things and just get traffic in fron of Rask and get shots through which has been a lot easier said then actually done.
  20. I wouldn't get your hopes up on either of them as Cohen has offers from Creighton, Marquette, Memphis, and Minnesota, while Macura has offers from Butler, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Saint Louis and from the way it sounds he will be offered by Minnesota soon as well.
  21. Agreed, I think this thing goes the full 7 and wouldn't be at all suprised to see another overtime game or 2. Would guess Hossa is back for game 4 but I really have no idea on the severity of his injury and most likely nobody will as they will just call it an "upper body injury" when talking about it.
  22. Hope the 2 guys who reffed tonight are done for the season now, I thought they were absolutely horrible. Boston seems to have all the bounces going their way right now and even when Chicago has Rask beat they can't finish it right now. Still confident in the Blackhawks but they have to figure out a way to get their powerplay going, they have way too much talent to struggle this much on the powerplay and I think the big problem for them is spacing and everything seems just a little off on it right now.
  23. I was waiting for the move as a Hawks fan and like it. When they put Bollig out in it felt like they were trying to add more physicality and go head to head with the Bruins while Stalberg gives a lot more speed and that is what the Hawks are all about and the speed is what has given some Boston d-men problem at times. Hopefully the Hawks can get right back into this one but there is no panic here and there shouldn't be any panic from the Hawks even with a loss tonight. Not a fan of the reffing tonight and would like to see the after the whistle the stuff cleaned up a lot even though with the way the Hawks PP is going it probably wouldn't help much.
  24. Agree I think either team could easily be up 2-0 so it is probably fitting that it is a 1-1 series right now. It has got to be frustrating for the Blackhawks how little space the Bruins make available and how well they clog the neutral zone and lanes, and the biggest frustration has to be how many shots the Bruins block. I think the Bruins are probably the most physical team and I think one mistake the Hawks may be making is putting Bollig in the lineup for more physical pressence and taking Stalberg out with all his speed. I think there have been a few times the Hawks speed has caused the Bruins D problems and think the Hawks will probably put Stalberg in for Monday's game to try to add more speed. One thing to keep an eye on as the series goes on is how the Bruins top 3 D are as they have played a lot of minutes these first couple games and if this series goes 7 like a lot of people think it will will their level of play dwindle at all with all the minutes they will have played by that time.
  25. I disagree Hawks need to clean up the turnovers but they completely dominated the 1st half of the game yesterday. Right now this series has some of the same feeling as the Hawks/Detroit series to me where Howard really just kept Detroit in it but eventually they started to get to him. I think it is very beneficial to Chicago that there isn't an extra day of rest between game 2 and 3 and think the Hawks will take game 3 on Monday.
