LMAO. What exactly are they supposed to write about people eating free french fries? Seriously, get help somewhere.

What a weird thing to try to troll people about. Can't imagine waking up in the morning and deciding to start my day with such a pointless thing. Turn out was excellent despite some sprinkles in the middle of the event (which don't go well with an industrial fryer). Great community event as always. There has also been 4 football articles this week. A conference look, two insight pieces and a game preview. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/und-running-back-tyler-hoosman-set-to-go-against-former-team-during-potato-bowl https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/herald-missouri-valley-football-conference-power-poll-sept-5-2022 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/after-a-year-focusing-on-aviation-and-rotc-unds-jack-ihry-finds-a-role-on-opposite-side-of-the-ball https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/und-football-week-2-primer-how-to-watch-injuries-and-matchups-with-northern-iowa

Only? No. One of? Definitely. As mentioned, there was open space and it is literally right outside their field. Makes a whole lot of sense to not let it go to waste and keep all the paperwork stuff in line as well.

Eh, if that's the mistake they are going to make, I'll take it but I really don't think there was a ton he could have done differently. He broke at the right time, it was just a poorly thrown pass that threw off his timing. A lesser WR might have still even had it knocked away because he was there. The good news is we won't see a ton of Trey Palmer types the rest of the year (though there is still some talented Wr's in the MVFC). I'd argue the one where they drew the PI was a bigger mistake as it appeared he had the secondary beat deep, but the pass was underthrown. But if there are only a couple of pass plays we can nitpick on with the lack of experience in the secondary and against a B1G offense being run by a Mark Whipple, that's not too bad. As for the OL, a couple injuries and the young guys beating out some older guys. One of those is better than the other....

I agree that it is stupid, but I think we might have slightly different definitions on why. And again, when people are openly railing against a brand, that is a negative. Can it be quantified? Of course not. But you also have all those people that said they were going to quit donating (and still post on social media how proud they are that they still refuse to) because of the name change? I mean, if even a little bit of that is true, then that has to be a negative, correct?

Well, last year the MVFC (and national) champ could only beat what NDSU fans would describe as a below-average UND team by 6. I disagree on this. Happened right in front of me and it almost felt like slow motion. The DB broke on the ball as the throw was made but it was such a floater that it threw his timing off. He still got there (as the picture posted showed), but he had a hard time adjusting to how slow the ball was and was off just enough that he couldn't knock it down. Would have been a huge play and who knows how that might have changed the outcome. And overall still a pretty solid game by a secondary that was missing a few pieces against an OC who has no problem airing it out. Couple other thoughts: Deep passing game wasn't there. Don't think they trusted 3 brand new OL to hold protection long enough to let it develop and they were probably right. That being said, I think the OL played a good game overall. Those will be there later in the year A little surprised they left Smith in after his big gain, but maybe they rushed everyone down the field to not let Nebraska sub out? If not, then I don't quite agree with it, you could see him visible gassed from the stands. Small quibble though There was a lot more wind than there appeared to be. Guessing that had an effect on some play calling and special teams Grant is the real deal. He made something out of nothing on his big run on their go-ahead TD. Guy is going to have a big season assuming he stays on the field Impressive resilience to give up 10 coming out of the half and tie it up 5 minutes later Atmosphere and effort were top notch. Concourse was almost dead silent at half-time. Nebraska fans went above and beyond before, during and after the game. A W would have been the cherry on top, but if they can come out this week with that effort, it will be a good start to the rest of the season.

How about this, tell me how open derision and continual mocking/ridiculing the new nickname is a positive to the University in any way? Or even just neutral? I mean, this isn't the only thing, but do you think corporations and brands spend all that money on marketing/branding just to keep people employed? Some of the commentary on various social media platforms are straight up cringe-worthy as it relates to the SF crowd and their reactions to the actual nickname/logo of the University they "support".
-
NDSU admin had some really great foresight on paring back their distance ed options/infrastructure. The ability to offer both experiences (and a mixture of the two), is going to continue to be very important to those attending higher ed institutions.
-
And they moved their locker rooms to the REA.
-
The proper reaction is probably somewhere between these two....

Top choice of who? And 3+ years seems like plenty of time. No need to re-hash what's in the past, but one of the large pushes for no nickname was so that people could unofficially continue using Fighting Sioux as there was nothing to fill the void. And "a while longer" clearly wouldn't have made a difference with a big part of those who still haven't moved on.

Good turnout. Exciting project. Need to close the final gap to get Phase 2 of HPC going, hoping to have it done in the next month so they can announce it at homecoming and have them being built and open simultaneously.

Semantics, but if NDSU is claiming 16, then UND would have 2. Both Jabril Cox and Kenny Golladay transferred and didn't finish their schooling at North Dakota schools (and yes I understand the difference between a grad transfer and one due to a coaching change. -
That's just a ballpark of the difference between non-competitive state/local funding. Doesn't take into account the difference in institutional funding for research. Put more plainly, because NDSU is the land grant, the state funds an exorbitant amount of their research funding in the form of non-competitive dollars. I'm not arguing that this isn't part of their mission, but it is an important caveat when discussing their research status. That (along with not having their med school on campus) is why Nebraska lost their AAU status a decade ago. Again, saying it is right or wrong, that is part of the deal being the land grand in an agricultural state. UND has roughly 50% more federally funded R&D expenditures than NDSU. And in NDSU's defense, since UND has the med school, that is going to be part of the deal as well.

It can't be University driven, but you know that right?

Recruiting behind KS was a huge issue. He was handcuffed and restrained from bein able to use his athleticism because if he went down, there wasn't a back-up plan. There's a reason a transfer was brought in to replace him after he graduated. TS is a more accurate passer and more careful with the ball than KS was. But let's also remember TS is finally an upper-classman. Let's see what he can do now that he has a few years under his belt.

It is something they have continually worked on with him. One of his biggest plusses is that he doesn't make mistakes and lives to play another down. They are working on finding that happy medium that sometimes its OK to throw into tighter coverage (need to put it where only your WR has a chance at it) and sometimes its OK to tuck it and get 3-7 yards (just be smart about it and don't take a big hit).
-
I'd feel a lot better about that if they already had a QB commit.....which they don't. They've put out offers to 5 other QB's, all of who had committed elsewhere so it doesn't even look like they have anyone in their pipeline. Not ideal.
-
Big of you to admit your statement wasn't even close to accurate. Keep putting lipstick on that pig though.
-
As long as both QB's understand what's going on and are bought in to what it means for each of them, I think it can.
-
Unfortunately the bandwagon in Fargo hasn't gotten quite a bit heavier.

Not sure on talent but there was a significant focus on athleticism. Both the head and assistant coach know what is needed to compete. Looking forward to what they are able to do.
-
I believe all of them should be here. I think the final piece was confirmed last week.

You act like he has a personal vendetta against CW, when he's actually just honest about his time on the roster in Indy. If it was personal he wouldn't be giving him compliments (from the same article).
