Can't sell what you can't get. They were ordered in plenty of time but ended up stuck overseas.

At least UND took him to a basketball game instead of a football game...
-
Roster limits are 125 in season and 105 in the off-season. Guessing some of that was waived this year but if they have 25 seniors and as right now, only 10-12 are expected to move in with another 13-15 staying for an extra year it will be interesting to see how they navigate that. Those humber could change a bit but their roster management will be interesting to watch.

Not that it matters but Norman played two years of JuCo at Snow College before coming here. But your point stands, both he and Bruns don't look as young as they are.

Don't remember what SCSU had on the scoreboard but SCSU was definitely the first game UND played after the new name was announced.
-
A couple people have mentioned some similarities to a western ND kid that played in Fargo a few years back. A bit unorthodox but effective.

None of the last 3 volleyball coaches have been "homer hires" as it is a pretty big stretch to consider Tiffin's handful of months as an assistant during the offseason as any sort of ties to UND.

I miss that set shot from 3. Webb was so fun to watch. Another Q might be a bit too much to ask for?

SDSU is on line one...

Probably safe to assume there will be some Southland teams looking for games.

It was scheduled as a home/home. Dixie State still shows UND traveling down there 11/9/24 while UND shows that date as open, though I would assume its off since it was home/home. 2024 is also a 12 game year, which I hope UND takes full advantage of. But overall, not sure what is going on with that. Preference would obviously be to find either a "buy" game or front end of a home/home on 10/15. Alternative would be to collect a paycheck to go somewhere on 10/15 or 10/29 but 4 home games next year isn't ideal either. Though as I mentioned, a not insignificant portion of the fan base would have missed the 10/29 game as scheduled (or if a new one was scheduled in its place).
-
That's definitely a change within the last couple weeks. But depending on how they handle it, it could be a positive. If they can find a game on 10/15 instead, they aren't dealing with thousands of people in Vegas for the Hall of Fame game.

So basically the same as pretty much every other football coach in the nation? Frankly, I think he's normally pretty candid and does a good job protecting his players and putting blame on the staff vs. throwing them under the bus (on par with some interesting comments coming from a head coach 70 miles south of UND)

It appeared we struggled with their length and athleticism, which contributed to the shooting issues. Heard footsteps before they were there. Not a fan of some of Milwaukee's antics. Some of the stuff coming from the bench but particularly the guard that would stand next to the free throw shooter and start waving his arms during the shot. If Bruns, Norman and T can adjust early in their UND careers, this team has a chance. Those three young guys have the potential to be big contributors quickly.

Tough to raise funds when the college president is openly advocating for the entire athletic department to be cut or moved to a lower division. And while it isn't funds directly raised, do you think the Memorial Village project happens without the athletic department and University getting creative in their "fundraising"?

Turns out offenses work better when the playbook expands beyond QB scramble, long lob deep and RB up the middle.
-
Unfortunately their staff finally figured out he's their best option. And it's not that close.

I'd put my money on separate warmups and these being the game jerseys. Not all that different from Vegas.

Has NDSU had a sellout this year?
-
$2.19 million average annually for the entire rights package and the deal goes through 2030. So unless NDSU is going to buyout the remainder of the contract, or at least the football portion, how exactly do they bring something to the table?
-
To do what and where? They have a good football team but don't bring any recruiting areas in to play or a net positive to a media contract.

None since Taubenheim had 3 in 4 years in the Big Sky (2nd/3rd team under Kostich). And not that it would have mattered, but last spring would have been the first season anyone would have been eligible since Taubenheim since we weren't in a conference for those two seasons. I completely agree that the kicking game needs to improve, but pretty sure they recognized that when brought in Stage and Stevens. My point was that claiming it hasn't been taken seriously isn't accurate. Considering UND plays well over half of their games in indoor stadiums and now has a facility where you can practice year-round, it should be fairly attractive place to kick.
-
Going to disagree that it hasn't been taken seriously: Taubenheim was ranked the 24th kicker in the country by Kohl's Steven's was a 4.5 star kicker out of Chris Sailer's camp in Colorado. Stage was First Team All-Conference at St. Cloud his freshman year and 2nd team his sophomore year before they shut down the program and he transferred here. Not sure what Leach's credentials were so that might be the only one that you could argue, but being he was from Moorhead, guessing the staff had some decent insight. Considering Stage is a senior, Stevens is a junior and Simmering was offered a scholarship in July, the timing is probably is a lot closer than a coincidence than you'd think. Regardless, looks to be a great get at a position of need, from both the competition side and some upcoming graduations.

The guideline is 72 hours prior to the event date not the event time. Anytime Wednesday meets that requirement.
