Exhibition games are meant to work on a few things and get some of the end of the bench guys some extra minutes. They are making sure that happens by scheduling how they are.

I didn't know much about Red Wilson but I kept seeing his name pop up in Miller's article. From a smaller town in Georgia, went to a non-scholarship JuCo in Virginia, MN (Mesabi Range) and played two years (no season in 2020/21 due CoVid. His highlight video is pretty fun to watch. Makes it until after the 3 minute mark before he gets tackled. Could be a very legit weapon out of the slot and possibly as a punt returner if they don't want to put Skokna back there. I can see how he's standing out in practice with quickness like that. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13052360/6179d607688eb308d0a9a77d

Not to speak poorly of those no longer with us, but it was public knowledge that they were interviewing the Big12 (and on the short list) at that point in time so it wasn't that far of a stretch to see it happening. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/9/16/12919300/houston-cougars-big-12-expansion-conference-realignment-cincinnati

Shhhhh. You're ruining the conspiracy theory....
-
You mean UND is going to continue to advertise during UND events? Exactly like NDSU does? I'm shocked! But they are a non-profit, so feel free to check their financials to blow the lid off this one.
-
NDSU sold their entire packsge to Learfield. The situations are not apples to apples. UND also traded some monetary value for some of the investments and additional coverage. The value far exceeds 4 years/$2 million.
-
Ah man, at least include the part where your other radio host/play by play guy threw a fit because he didn't get the job and quit!
-
LMAO. Almost had this one right.
-
It's not a UND thing, its an industry thing and isn't much different than pretty much anywhere. Entry level jobs (coaching or sports marketing) are basically foot-in-the door, stepping stone jobs. Show up, prove what you can do and you'll be rewarded with a promotion or a better job elsewhere. Unfortunate reality of the business.

I know it's easy to just claim that the staff does no self-scouting and reflection on decisions but the hyperbole on it is a bit much. The "leaner linemen experiment" was a 1-year thing that they had to try to do because the O-Line was not left in a great spot by the previous coach. It was meant as a 1-year stopgap until they could revamp what and where they wanted the O-Line to be at and has been gone since after the 2019 season I think we're all in agreement that there is room from improvement from both the X's and O's and the execution of that from the Jimmy's and the Joe's. If we can see even just a little bit of improvement from last year, I like the way things are headed. And my expectation is to see more than just a little bit of improvement.

Admissions issues. Not uncommon with international players.
-
Not ideal but its an entry level job into coaching and beats being a Grad Asst. Starting is within 10% or so of what's paid in Fargo and Vermillion and slightly higher than the same position in Brookings (based on title, not necessarily job requirements). Experience likely varies as well.

Some progress. Also briefly touches on HPC2. Its getting close.

Well, the Sioux logo is still all over the building, so I guess that worked out for him OK? I'm not going to argue the rest, just pointing out why the student's section is at center ice and not in one of the ends.
-
A new video/media person was just hired and started within the last week or so. Hopefully that will be a big step in the right direction.
-
Ralph was pretty adamant that the students have some of the best seats in the building, which is how they ended up with a couple at center ice behind the penalty box.
-
REA still has some tickets left if anyone needs them.
-
No, didn't you see that he was clearly in the radio?

I'm fully aware of the threat of China to the US and some of the ways they go about it. I've listened to speakers from the GFAFB discuss it. And I'm not trying to minimize the overall impact that is there. My point is that China is significantly smarter and more advanced in their methods then blatantly dropping a billion dollars facility to use for such purposes. I would actually say a somewhat more realistic scenario is something along the lines of this being used as a giant distraction and them doing something completely off the wall like buying the Knights Inn and use that as a sort of foreign intel mission (I think neither is likely, but something a lot less obvious is much more likely in my mind). Some of the general commentary and lines of thinking I've heard are fairly laughable. Like was previously mentioned: Cirrus is owned by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft which is a division of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (which is a Chinese state-owned aerospace and defense conglomerate headquartered in Beijing), so they already have a similar company set up within a few miles of the proposed site. They are going to bring more attention to that by spending a billion dollars to put up another plant? Maybe, but I find it hard to believe.
-
Or they could have invested in the Career Impact Academy and really indoctrinated the next generation. I mean, they already have them carrying around cell phones made in China.
-
Right? Making a big splash by investing a billion dollars so everyone knows what's going on is the perfect way to keep something like that secret.

Geno still showing out. Looking good against a few NBA players in the Twin Cities Pro-Am
-
Odd that you measure your fans in weight but I guess I get it, definitely pushes the number up doing it that way....

The money they will get will keep them there. And as previous mentioned, gives the B1G Network great filler for later games, which will only help increase their TV money.
