  1. The program was having pretty severe issues before Paul Sather ever submitted an application. Is Ndoukou expected to be here next year now? For some reason I thought there was talk of him joining the team in the 2nd half of this year but assuming I'm incorrect on that.
  2. Apparently he can't even stay satisfied with an FBS coordinator job for more than 3 weeks....
  3. How many other coaches lost their best player, an all-conference candidate, because they were forced to transfer in order stay in the country and not go back to Serbia due to visa issues? I don't think anyone is arguing with you on where UND is in the current pecking order, which is exactly why they are losing more than they are currently gaining out of the portal. Again, not exactly the same "challenges". Feel very confident both the last two seasons would have been significantly different if Rebraca wasn't forced to transfer.
  4. Yet other schools, who are currently better than UND, saw enough in them to want them? So either they were talented before they got here (meaning they are recruiting talented players) or they were coached up pretty significantly in their short time here. Ihenacho heard from James Madison, Ball State, Florida International, Colgate, St John’s, Montana, Pacific, Drake, UNI, SIU, UNLV & Western Michigan. Probably safe to say he wasn't offered a spot at all of them, but there was at least some interest. No clue who else Bruns heard from because USD was in his ear so early that his mind was made up before anyone knew he might leave.
  5. I mean, if they weren't high level talent coming out of high school, then the coach did a helluva job coaching them up in less than a year. Or hear me out, the coach has an eye for finding some talented players that are overlooked by others? Firing people and/or calling for heads =/= accountability. In fact, I'd argue all that does is put a program/athletic department in debt and gives prospective coaches a lot of hesitation on taking the job. And there are zero guarantees on how someone new would perform. Could be better, worse or the same. To be clear, under normal circumstances, I'd probably agree given the results. However between Covid, changes in the transfer portal and a very unlucky visa requirement, it has been far from that. I'm not quite there yet. That's fine if you are, but we're just going to have different opinions on it.
  6. Serious question: What exactly did Jackson say in that article that was different than what Berry would have said? I've heard BB make very similar comments about players who have struggled, had to take some time for reflection and figure out if they wanted to work through it or not.
  7. Talented enough that other schools want them. We get it. You think it is time to move on. Others don't agree, quite yet at least.
  8. Yeah, I mean, just because you have an opinion doesn't mean it's accurate.
  9. They've attended before. Not saying their attendance couldn't be higher, but typically their schedule does not line up as well with being able to attend.
  10. There's been two games and NDSU spent both of them playing catch up. But I'm all for them continuing to limit Morgan's minutes.
  11. On the other hand, he went for 35/16 against WIU and they lost by 19. He's likely going to get his. Contain Morgan and don't let any of the other players contribute.
  12. Wait, apparently SDSU is recruiting D2 players as well? Next you're going to tell me they kept running coaches out of town until they got immediate results out of one.
  13. Pretty telling that they didn't mention how it would be funding going forward, meaning there wasn't external funds raised. Just signatures. And we all know how good NDSU is at putting those together....
  14. Comparatively speaking, UND fan support for its women sports is pretty high up there in comparison to other schools, above alot of G5 and plenty of P5 in both WBB and particularly WVB where they've been well into the top 50 before. On the men's side, they fall a lot further down the list. Point being, UND can show recruits a lot more "fan" support on the women's side comparatively to the men's side and that shows very well for those sports.
  15. Always fun when UND is on the wrong end of something that ends up causing a change to the rules....
  16. Only a few hours off. We're good now.
  17. Impossible. Izzo already reported it...with two sources!!
  18. Pretty good take. Definitely took some steps to address both lines. Some solid skill players. Still some work to do in the backfield, linebackers and secondary. Another signing day in a few months plus some players looking to move after spring ball that can fill some of those holes.
  19. Looks you might be right. I see UND released their recap already. Still holding out hope, but unfortunate either way.
  20. Not sure if its in relation to how many years they have been playing seasons of D1 but I'll humor it anyway. Also, do I get to put a conversion rate that takes into account the distance from campus? Senior or Grad Students, playing 2nd year of D1 basketball (Bjorklund, Miller, Allen, Engels) - 58% Junior, playing 3rd year of D1 basketball (Brown, Jr) - 11% Sophomore, playing 2nd year of D1 basketball (Nau) - 9% Freshman/RFr, playing 1st year of D1 basketball (Blue, Dufault, Lee) - 22% 72% of minutes came from players who grew up in the metro. 7% came from players that grew up within 80 miles of campus 21% came from players that grew up in Milwaukee or Chicago (325-400 miles away) The top and bottom numbers of location is exactly why St. Thomas is going to be a force within a few years. There is a lot of talent in the metro they are going to keep and pulling from the Milwaukee and Chicago areas to MSP/StP is a lot easier than to Grand Forks.
  21. Yes and no, depending on how you look at the breakdown. And inexperienced is probably more accurate than young, but I still think the latter applies. 41% of the minutes were played by players that were playing in high school last year (Omot, Brooks, Eaglestaff). 14% were played by players that are playing their first D1 season (Trent, Levias). 22% were played by players that are playing their second D1 season (Tsartsidze, Norman, Mathews). That leaves 24% being played by guys that have more than one D1 season under their belt (Danielson, Sueker). I mean, that is the more than the equivalent of two players who were sitting in a high school classroom last year playing a full game. That's definitely is not the norm. That being said, I think its the right move and gives UND the best chance to win both now and in the future. But there is going to be growing pains. Let's hope we get to see this group grow together....
  22. 3 out of 6 isn't bad.
  23. Are you asking if they are gaining something from when DeBoer was OC/QB coach for 3 seasons, the most recent being 2016? I mean, they are 35-34 since he left and were 10-27 while he was there? Maybe Chris Creighton figured something out to not be a such a doormat?
  24. I get what you are saying, because it bothers me as well, but it has kind of been a couple of unfortunate coincidences. NYC was a playoff game that wasn't known until the week before. Nashville had to be rescheduled due to CoVid and there were only so many weekends they could use Bridgestone Arena. The original game was scheduled for the same week as team playing at Western Illinois. They tried to make sure the Vegas game was scheduled for an off week but I believe Dixie State canceling threw a wrench into that. And they wanted to make sure they had 5 homes games this season. I know they pushed for a game the week before but couldn't find it.
