Semantics, but if NDSU is claiming 16, then UND would have 2. Both Jabril Cox and Kenny Golladay transferred and didn't finish their schooling at North Dakota schools (and yes I understand the difference between a grad transfer and one due to a coaching change.

That's just a ballpark of the difference between non-competitive state/local funding. Doesn't take into account the difference in institutional funding for research. Put more plainly, because NDSU is the land grant, the state funds an exorbitant amount of their research funding in the form of non-competitive dollars. I'm not arguing that this isn't part of their mission, but it is an important caveat when discussing their research status. That (along with not having their med school on campus) is why Nebraska lost their AAU status a decade ago. Again, saying it is right or wrong, that is part of the deal being the land grand in an agricultural state. UND has roughly 50% more federally funded R&D expenditures than NDSU. And in NDSU's defense, since UND has the med school, that is going to be part of the deal as well.

Recruiting behind KS was a huge issue. He was handcuffed and restrained from bein able to use his athleticism because if he went down, there wasn't a back-up plan. There's a reason a transfer was brought in to replace him after he graduated. TS is a more accurate passer and more careful with the ball than KS was. But let's also remember TS is finally an upper-classman. Let's see what he can do now that he has a few years under his belt.

It is something they have continually worked on with him. One of his biggest plusses is that he doesn't make mistakes and lives to play another down. They are working on finding that happy medium that sometimes its OK to throw into tighter coverage (need to put it where only your WR has a chance at it) and sometimes its OK to tuck it and get 3-7 yards (just be smart about it and don't take a big hit).

I'd feel a lot better about that if they already had a QB commit.....which they don't. They've put out offers to 5 other QB's, all of who had committed elsewhere so it doesn't even look like they have anyone in their pipeline. Not ideal.

As long as both QB's understand what's going on and are bought in to what it means for each of them, I think it can.

UND 2-5 in one score games with those losses being to the #1, #5, #14, #17 and #20 teams. They were tied or in the lead in the 4th quarter in 3 of those games and . The only other loss was to an 11-3 MWC team where things just unraveled after getting out to a hot start. I don't think anyone doubts that they need to show they can win close games, but its not like they were embarrassed off the field all season. And I agree that your record is what ultimately matters, but Sagarin had UND at 15 and Massey at 14 to end the season. Now just need to get the actual W's to back it up because clearly UND isn't getting the UNI treatment in the polls.

Exhibition games are meant to work on a few things and get some of the end of the bench guys some extra minutes. They are making sure that happens by scheduling how they are.

I didn't know much about Red Wilson but I kept seeing his name pop up in Miller's article. From a smaller town in Georgia, went to a non-scholarship JuCo in Virginia, MN (Mesabi Range) and played two years (no season in 2020/21 due CoVid. His highlight video is pretty fun to watch. Makes it until after the 3 minute mark before he gets tackled. Could be a very legit weapon out of the slot and possibly as a punt returner if they don't want to put Skokna back there. NDSU sold their entire packsge to Learfield. The situations are not apples to apples. UND also traded some monetary value for some of the investments and additional coverage. The value far exceeds 4 years/$2 million.
