I would assume it is listed as an alternative for NFL experience.
-
Yep you are right, misread his hire date.
-
Could be but BB doesn't (quite) meet the first bullet of preferred qualifications as I believe he only has 1 year as a position coach. I don't think there are any qualifications that wouldn't be pretty standard on almost any FCS job opening.
-
Faison has shown he is willing to do that, so I'm not concerned about that part of it. I would expect the contract to have multiple bonus aspects related to attendance and performance, seems to be more and more common and rightfully so.

If UND can defend the post efficiently without Brekke, I think that the OOC schedule will be entertaining. If they struggle to keep teams from pounding it down low and dominating the boards, conference play won't come soon enough. Tough to get a read on the team from only one game so far against a team from a lower level. Also, I expect big things from Huff tonight playing in his home state and a little over an hour from home.

Yet you complain you don't make enough to donate? Or are you donating again? Not sure how anyone can keep your stories straight since you can't.

His open record requests have already been sent

Correct. Complaining of state money being used for it. Already been mentioned more than once on FU's message board.
-
Not sure if it has been mentioned already, but the assistant coaches will remain on staff as their contracts run through the end of the year. They are free to apply elsewhere and could apply with the new coach if they wanted. New main contact for football is strength coach Nate Baukol. (hat tip to @TomMillerGF).

This isn't going to happen, not sure why you are so hung up on it. Have to follow state hiring guidelines. Position has to be publicly posted for set amount of time (can't remember off the top of my head), etc.
-
@waynenelsongf I can't wait to hear the revisionist history on this.... Also, speculation by Wayne Nelson is that new coach will be hired sometime in December. His twitter (@WayneNelsonGF) has a pretty good break down of their talk with Faison.

Concur that the writing was on the wall and what was done needed to be but I would like to thank Chris for his contributions. He joined the football program in 1999 and helped lead it to its only national championship. He took over as head coach when it wasn't a very appealing position with transition, nickname issues and not having a conference. In the end, the on the field results were not where they need to be and I think the Muss would be the first in line to agree. He did a pretty good job in keeping players out of the news for the wrong reason, one thing that isn't an easy task and speaks well to him as a person. Good luck in the future coach.

He said "no comment" a whopping one time that I've seen reported and it was immediately after the football game. I fully expect something from him very soon, likely this afternoon or tomorrow morning one way or another. I'd expect a press conference if there will be a change and just a comment to one of the Herald's writers if there will be no change.

You said we would lose out on a head coach, recruits, transfers, etc if he wasn't fired by 5 pm today. That's a little over the top. The majority of candidates that would apply still have at least one week left in their season. I do think that if something is going to be done, it needs to be sooner than later and I'm guessing a decision has been made one way or another (likely a while back) so there is no point to delay announcing it. If he is going to be around another year, than it makes sense to make a statement reaffirming that, otherwise you have potential recruits not knowing if they will be playing for the guy actually recruiting them.
-
Firing Mussman in the middle of the season would have accomplished absolutely nothing. You do realize there is still a week left in the regular season right? Please explain how your last sentence makes any sense?
-
I wouldn't be shocked. Disappointed and somewhat surprised though. This thread will be a !@#$ show though...

Wait, what? Not possible. Good thing the Summit added UNO, they are the only team with an OOC D-1 win this year (a nice one against NIU and another against former Summit member UMKC). 2-13 on the year for the conference. Big Sky not fairing a whole lot better, are 3-7 on the year.

The KC Star lists him as signing yesterday along with some stuff on Twitter including the picture below:
-
You could be right, maybe they just haven't put them together yet. I just assumed they'd announce them all at the end of the day yesterday or this morning. Must just be taking their time.
-
Pretty certain that Crandall and Cashman both signed their NLI yesterday. Anyone know why UND hasn't put out any press releases for all the kids that signed yesterday? I know there was a handful in other sports, just wondering why nothing has been released yet.
-
I believe Strand, Swatzke and Buckley all signed their NLI's yesterday.
-
You were talking about NDSU surpassing UND (I assumed in athletics since this whole thing is about how great the Summit is). My question was what is UND's head to head record with NDSU in Summit sponsored sports.
-
I'm starting to come around about Hooker playing this year. He will definitely contribute this year but it gets him some experience with these guys because he's going to have to step up big next year. Will be a lot easier to do with a full season under his belt rather than sitting on the bench redshirting.

What's the head to head record in Summit sponsored sports the last 3 years?
