Tom Miller reports Jeff Mills, former DC at New Mexico has applied as well. Resume below. Becomes one of the more experienced candidates, though no head coaching experience.
-
Are you talking about the charges against him that were dismissed because it was ridiculous to begin with? That the judge said should have never been filed? Not saying he's a top candidate, but significantly better than a lot that have applied.
-
Former Mankato coach Todd Hoffner has applied per WDAZ. Has some distant ties to UND, was a Grad Asst Coach, I assume while he got his master's here.
-
I would think that people will be able to figure out who the finalists will be based on applications that come in today or tomorrow in addition to who has already applied. The Herald and KFGO have been requesting the applicants daily and mentioning at minimum the interesting ones.
-
Finalist list wouldn't be able to be released until Wednesday at the earliest no matter who would apply. It been speculated all along that some of the favorites weren't likely to put in their applications until a day or two before the deadline.

Wasn't the position posted within a day or two of Mussman being let go? I'm also pretty confident that Faison had known for at least a week or two that Mussman would be gone, guessing he had done his due diligence on who might have been interested in that time frame as well. Very curious on the "emergency hire" that GT referenced. While I understand the thought process behind it, I can't find anywhere the details when or how it is able to be used. I'd assume they would need some sort of OK from the state or SBoHE to do it and also as homer referenced, a waiver from the NCAA to have that many coaches on staff. Would the NCAA be willing to grant a waiver with the dead period in recruiting coming up?

That's strange. Wayne Nelson at 1:30 today: Wayne Nelson‏@waynenelsongf 11m As of noon Monday, four new UND FB applicants received; still no local flavor #undfb
-
GT goes on Joel Heitkamp's show this morning to discuss the situation and somehow Heitkamp ends bad mouthing Hakstol? Didn't hear it myself, curious if anyone else did?
-
I was under the assumption he had applied. If not, then disregard.
-
Seems like a red flag doesn't it?
-
I'm sure they were real happy with him after SHSU ran for 400 yards on them 2 years ago as well...

Jeff Mills. Reports say it is unclear whether he was fired or resigned. Interesting (edit - from NM, not NMSU where Faison was). No NFL or head coaching experience. Here's his coaching history. Not sold on him at first glance, possibly just a coincidence. Edit: Faison's connection is with NMSU. Their DC, Dave Elson was fired. His resume is below. As others poitned out, Faison was at UND before Elson started at NMSU. Don't see him being a candidate.

I expect to see some new and interesting names by end of day today. I have a feeling there will be a few surprises but in a good way.
-
Reality and perception are unfortunately two different things. I still think the new coach has yet to apply.
-
Not to burst your bubble but there is a zero percent chance of this one. Not interested and won't apply. And he hasn't exactly torn it up at SIU.
-
My thought is that the assistant coaches would stick around to finish out the year and decide whether they are going to go with Bohl or stay at NDSU. Gives GT a fighting chance at keeping a couple of them. I guess they are really in a no win situation Just as surprised at Wyoming not insisting that he starts immediately. Someone did through this out, I thought it was amusing, though can't tell if they were serious or not...
-
I still in in disbelief that NDSU is going to let Bohl and his staff that he has offered to come with him continue coaching. Will be interesting to see how the recruiting class holds up.
-
So Bohl plans on continuing to coach NDSU after he is announced as the new Wyoming coach tonight? With reports he's already offered his top 5 assistants to come with him? NDSU is going to allow him and his staff to have contact with recruits knowing he is gone as soon as he leaves?
-
Yes that account did. And he encouraged others to do the same. While not officially related to NDSU, he covers their recruiting better than the local media. And I believe his dad was a long time coach at NDSU. He was also mocking anyone who mentioned Bohl to Wyoming since the job had been open.
-
Somewhat agree but if Bohl is saying no comment instead of denying it when directly asked is pretty telling.
-
Hopefully GT hasn't already commissioned that statue of Bohl yet. Yikes. I guess all that talk of B1G or Big 12 jobs being the only way he'd leave were a little overstated. I'm surprised myself.

Vernon Adams did manage 9.9/yards per attempt and threw 5 TD passes. Not bad considering he completed 12 passes.
-
500+ total yards of offense with almost 300 yards of rushing at 6.7 yards/rush for EWU. Zenner held to 71 yards on 21 carries though Sumner threw for over 300. Nice 2nd half performance by NDSU, Furman looked legit the first half. Downhill from there for them. No clue what happened with Montana today. EIU makes a statement.
