Yet there is a "Fire Hak" thread when in comparison in their respective sports, Hakstol has a better resume than Smith did their first 9 years. Let the CIT thing go. No one is shooting for a CIT bid (minus the autobid that was a result of a GWC title). It's has been a consolation prize the last two years, not a goal, just a by-product of what happened during the season. They probably should have passed on the invitation last year due to injuries but may as well let the healthy guys and seniors have one more game (and a shot at another couple).

I was curious about this. Looking at the 10 conference games this year, UND has held the lead at halftime 4 times. They've outscored their opponents 5 times in the second half and scored the same amount as them opponent once. If you were to break their record down by halves it would look like this (doesn't include overtimes, which they are 1-1 in) 1st half: 4-6 2nd half: 5-4-1 Over the 10 games, they've outscore they are a +3 in the first half (helped by being +24 the last two games) vs. a -26 in the second half (attributed to being -28 vs. EWU and going -13 last night). Second half scores are 1-2-1 when leading at the half and 3-3 when losing at the half. Again, conference games only and doesn't include the collapse against SDSU or letting Alabama St back in the game, but they did outscore Drake in the 2nd half. Take the numbers for what they're worth, but your comment made me curious.

And all this is after a win...yikes.

Speaking of beating a dead horse: This is false.

Surprised Boas hasn't been mentioned. Didn't he start every game at center this year? Is everyone else projected to improve that much that he'll be displaced? I know that Francis was pushing him pretty good during the year but they didn't feel it was worth pulling his redshirt. I'd be surprised if he's at least not in the rotation but I'll defer to others who know the OL positions better than I do.

Pretty obvious reason there has been no extension talked about. But logic is no fun.

I thought you started your own thread to keep this stuff out of the gameday threads?

Count me as someone who is somewhere between these two opinions.

Nash seemed like he was able to finish at the rim finally. He played last night like I think most have been expecting him to since the beginning of the year. Not sure if it was a one game thing, something clicked or maybe his knee is better. Even made some clutch free throws down the stretch. I'll take 21 and 11 from him every night, especially with 60% shooting. Not sure what he did to cause that steal at the end, but it was huge. Outrebounded them 46-37. Lots of offensive boards on both sides though, 15-11 in favor of UND. 20 TO's is too many. Hooker didn't have it last night shooting. Still played good defense and distributed the ball well. Only 3 assists in the second half after 11 in the first. 5 guys in double figures and Hooker wasn't one of them. Wouldn't have predicted that. I like the energy Hobaugh brings but not sold on him getting 18 minutes with Coleman only getting 2. Was glad to see Antwi get some extended playing time, I think he's one of the most well-rounded players on the team. Tyler played 44 of 45 minutes, only took 5 shots but had 14 free throws, making 13 of them. Nice to have a solid shooter from the line, wasn't sure who was going to fill Anderson's shoes for late game free throws.

I mean..... Eventually UND will foul in that situation.

That was an interesting sequence to say the least.

Decent half. 11 assists on 15 field goals is impressive to see. Need to finish the game strong.

Granted that's with a running start but his hudl page has his 40 time listed at 5.06. I'm sure there's some wiggle in there, but not all that far off from what you got taking into the account its not from a standstill.

It was touched on briefly last night that Jeremy Webb lives with his brother in Chicago who plays for the Bears. Chicago Sun Times had a really good article on the situation a while back, it is worth a read. Apparently Webb didn't play football his sophomore or junior year. Seems like he knows what his goals are and living with his brother helps him realize the work it takes to achieve them. Edit: Didn't realize bang had posted the article a while back, must have missed it.

Personally? No clue but the coaches stated last night that every kid should come in like they will be playing this fall. Guessing with him being that young, having another year to get bigger and faster will only help him but if he can contribute right away, put him on the field. The only question at that point becomes at what position, thinking he could play a handful of them as a few others have stated.

The story about Grady having to go up to Canada to box a 29 year old because no one in ND, SD or MT (possibly MN as well?) would fight him anymore was also pretty amusing. The kid is incredibly athletic for his size.

He just turned 17 within the last month or two.

Yes ira, very much kidding, unfortunately the geniuses it was directed at were not. As Bubba stated yesterday, they are concerned about their evaluations, not what other schools are offering. Somehow in the minds of some "football experts" they think that UND evaluates and offers a kid and then encourage them to do everything possible to get more attention for the sake of getting some sort of rating in a division where classes aren't ranked. How someone could possibly think that makes sense is beyond me.

Just uploaded yesterday? How is that possible, very knowledgeable people said that UND's coaches required all the recruits to have hudl and Rivals pages so they could get stars?
-
Very true. A few different sources had him signing here, but nothing official, especially from him. Seeing the papers come in and it being official was nice.

Only surprise (good or bad) was PWO Ted Nelson signing. Excellent job digging up information by those who spend their time keeping the rest of us informed. Very much appreciated!

I believe Knauf actually touched on this during his live interview. UND did have offers out to some kids that they didn't get (Wiki confirms). After that, they thought they could get better talent elsewhere and they are hoping to get some guys from their next year. With Knauf on this staff, Wisconsin won't be an afterthought and will continue to be recruited hard. This year, the chips just didn't fall their way in Wisconsin.

His school just did their signing within the last hour. Third from the left:

He got a couple your staff wanted and offered but those will never be talked about.

I know you're being facetious but from the talk about them competing with the MAC in recruiting, I only saw 1 of their commits that had an offer from one of those schools (Kent State). Outside of that and Ellefson from Hawley who reported a Purdue offer, the rest of the FBS offers were exclusively Wyoming, New Mexico or one of the service academies. They did get a few with some impressive FCS offer lists, no arguing that. But they also spent the last couple weeks pillaging the NSIC.
