I don't necessarily disagree but the entry level donation to the Champions Club is $135 and its 100% tax deducible if no ticket benefit is taken from it. Anywhere there is an article on anything relating to the old or any sort of new nickname, there are countless people who claim to have taken the bold stance to quit giving donations if the Fighting Sioux nickname doesn't come back. Amazing how the Champions Club continues to set donation records with all these people who have "quit" donating. Not sure I 100% agree with you on Hakstol's stance, but your opinion on the matter is pretty telling on the dividing line of the issue.

Big surprise that despite being a self-described lifelong fan, the author's name appears nowhere in the Champions Club member list. I'd be willing to make a wager that some of the loudest critics do not put their money where they claim their support is. And I agree 100%. LS bleeds more green than this guy could ever dream of.

At this point there is no alternative so it is the easy thing to do. Once there is one, I feel pretty confident the majority will be able to move on. History has shown that to be the case at numerous other schools. It may take a little time, but I don't really UND being different. That doesn't mean you still won't see Sioux gear (myself included) but there will be a noticeable change in the tide.

Well it'd be pretty dumb to publicly acknowledge you're have interest interest in another coach if you are bringing back your current head coach but it doesn't mean you aren't paying attention to what's out there, especially 75 miles away. You're talking about two separate arguments. I'd guess if someone ponied up the cash to buyout Jones, Walthall would be on the short list. Just because that didn't happen doesn't mean UND has no interest if the job were to come open, say next year. .

Maybe Douple should take notes on how to keep an autobid instead of having to apply for exemptions. Also guessing that wrestling will now have to take priority over football and basketball in stipends if NDSU wants to remain competitive. I believe scholarship limit is 10 in wrestling. Since NDSU doesn't match dollar for dollar on Title IX, no clue how that translate on the women's side.

Guessing they are using this to see if there is something out there that they haven't already considered. All the usual suspects that were in the nickname thread and the majority that have or will be submitted have likely been vetted to a point. Unfortunately not sure that the amount of crap they are going to have to wade through will be worth it for the chance of something new coming out of it.

They are actually behind if they are just getting to it this afternoon. I've gotten texts from FU grads about it and it made Fark plus a few other sites. The colossal amount of idiotic and offensive stuff they are going to have to sort through is going to be mind blowing. Not too mention the FU mensa club has already posted some of their best ideas. The anonymous thing was not the way to go.

Agreed. Much easier to clamor for a coach to be let go when someone else is footing the bill for the buyout even if a change in directions is justified.
