There are legislators that were caught off guard by this as well and are requesting clarification. Their understanding is that athletics were not allowed in any fashion, it was too be strictly academics (but keep spinning). There will likely be more review on it next month before funds are given out. As for the dollar amount, didn't Brescani threaten to shut down a school owned child care center over something like $100K when he was pleading poverty a few years back? Nice to see he's gotten things straightened out and clearly is funded at a level where he can divert almost half a million to athletics instead of academics.

I guess UND alumni and their administration can read and understand what "exclusively for the advancement of academics" means. Port has a grudge with the SBoHE, he takes UND task plenty. Don't believe everything you read on bisonville. Again, Port has taken many shots at UND. His disdain is with higher ed. Maybe NDSU should quite giving him all the opportunities to be written about. And I'm still waiting on all kinds of articles on NDSU's football programs. Coach getting a DUI a few weeks after being hired, multiple minors and even another theft case! Coach Stevens was very entertaining at the luncheon today. Sounds like they played 6 freshman in the starting line-up for the majority of their 4 game tournament last weekend.

Points off turnovers is the glaring stat. UND scored 4 points off of 12 turnovers. Montana scored 25 points off of 14 turnovers.

Yep. The young talent on this team has shown a lot of flashes (those two plus Shanks and Hooker). Just need to continue to develop and put on a little bulk. All 3 of the bigs have room to put on some weight. I can see Cashman turning into a bruiser, he's definitely not afraid of contact. They all need to work on consistency though. Would be fun to see 6'8", 6'9" and 7'0" playing across the frontcourt for stretches over the next 3 years.

Montgomery will be speaking at the luncheon today. Noon, at the Alerus Center. $10 for buffet lunch. More than worth it if you haven't been before.

Ugh. Hooker travels as he turns his ankle and then Tyler misses a bunny. Draw something up, no clue how Hooker's ankle is otherwise he'd take the shot.

Q continues to amaze with his passing and vision. Really excited about a Shanks/Shields/Cashman rotation the next few years. Shields really seems to attack rebounds, just needs to put on some pounds. Might have helped since they were working on getting the inside temp up to do some interior work. Construction continues to be behind. For sure not usable this spring and probably not this summer, though shouldn't be needed. Heard some good things about the track that is being put in. Only one other one with similar specs/surface/etc in the world (I believe in Brazil).
