  1. Shanks looking very good and getting lots of minutes. Hooker so fun to watch. Seems like everyone on Weber can hit from deep. UND doubling hard down low when Weber gets it in the post, we'll see how long that works. Cashman looked good in his first half minutes.
  2. Nothing out of the realm of possibility. B1G winner will likely have a higher PWR than the AHA winner. #2 overall seed could get a fairly unlucky draw (assuming they don't do any shuffling).
  3. Agreed. Host team will have to win 2 games instead of 1 to make it to the championship now making it slightly tougher but I don't think attendance will be nearly as good at a neutral site. Unless you're putting it at a very easy location for multiple fanbases to get to, the footprint of the conference is huge and you're taking away a guaranteed large crowd from the host school.
  4. There's always tickets for sale. A lot of it will depend on what other schools are sent to Fargo. If it is 3 teams that aren't close or don't travel well, their allotment will end up being released. If there is another team that is close by, that will help drive up the price. If Minnesota were to somehow make it and be sent here instead of South Bend....yikes.

    The Truth

Truth. Ask Dan Snyder how his fight is going and that is a privately owned entity. I still see all historical references in the athletic buildings I've been in, which what was permitted by the settlement agreement.
  6. If that's what you got out of what CMSioux's post then you answered my question. PS - Mussman went 3-1 against your "benchmark" team USD during the transition.
  7. Yes - Do you know how to let stuff go and move on?
  8. They did that last time as well to the tune of nearly 6 figures. Their current search committee put together a list of questions to figure out what went wrong and they are now going to have another committee put together to answer the questions and this is before they even start to look at hiring a new president.
  9. Why doesn't someone just put a call into the president of the Foundation and ask...
  10. Pretty talented kid. Got a response from an NDSU fan 2 full days before he sent the tweet you're referring to. The tweet that was responded to was that he sat next to rival NDSU coach on the plane from Grand Forks and was 2 days before Smith tweeted anything about his verbal to UND and the hashtag of NDSU being on the clock. But whatever makes justifying 40 some year old fan responding to 18 year old kids OK. Really showing your smarts with this one. If a scout wants to see a player at a pro day, he will be there. I'd love to see NDSU inform some professional teams that they can't see a kid because he hurt their feelings with a tweet sent 4 or 5 years previous. UND hosted a pro day for many years, they were asked to have their players come to Fargo. It allowed more teams to show up since they didn't have to send their scouts to North Dakota twice or spend multiple days here.
  11. So going into the last week of recruiting, with a class that NDSU won a lot of battles on and needs to be protecting their verbals, Hedberg is wasting not only his time but 2 high schools time by going out on "courtesy" calls, basically just leading the kids on? First the company line was that he hadn't been to Davies now it is that he has been there to see the twins but isn't recruiting them? Wow, that is some Grade A spin.
  12. No surprise but you're missing the point. Clearly the NDSU coaches would never be calling on a UND recruit, the NDSU fans continue to insist that kids like that are well below their staff's standards. Then when it continues to happen, heads go straight into the sand. No one here is denying that all staffs do it, it's your fan base that continues to deny it despite the facts to the contrary.
  13. Is it profitable? Last I heard it wasn't and that was after being around for 10+ years. The NBA wanted a way to further develop players and did what they thought was best. Also think about the cost factor: You're comparing paying 10-12 players/team plus a few coaches for a game that can be played in smaller arenas (which most large metros have) versus paying around 60 players plus quite a few more coaches and the options for a venue to hold a game are limited and likely large. Takes a lot fewer butts in the seat to pay for the first one.
  14. Unless you there is a large financial incentive to do so, it will never happen. People have emotional ties to colleges, it is why it works so well right now. Once those players are out of college, the emotional tie is severed and you have a product that isn't top of the line and people aren't invested. Tough sell across the board.
  15. Didn't even catch that, nice.
  16. Possible but with the conference invite needed and whatever new "rule" they can come up with in the way, it will definitely lead to turbulent waters.
  17. I know that the information is really limited and cloudy right now but I wish there would have been more to that article. Not even sure what but it seemed lacking. Maybe throwing out some current UND budget numbers or something. Though with the subsidy stuff, probably not the direction to go either. I am at least glad that they are writing about it. It is going to be an absolutely massive issue and I know UND is looking at every possible way so that they are able to stay competitive. FCS is currently the biggest domino and there are a lot more have-nots than haves at this point and that could play a very instrumental part in what happens.
  18. No, he's too busy having a slap fight with McFeely and some random dude from Iowa.
  19. As long as we're at it, interesting to see the unofficial mouth piece for the NDSU staff taking a shot a UND while responding to a tweet of a recent UND verbal . The kid must have hurt some feelings at NDSU or something after sitting next to one of the coach's on his flight. I guess that wasn't enough because there's been quite a few comments talking down on UND's class the last few days as well. Stay classy Fargo.
  20. Sure? From his immediate family his mom plus his two older brothers went to NDSU (one who played football) along with a sister who is currently attending plus its 4 hours closer. But way to deflect the actual point.
  21. Moving this to the appropriate topic so the Recruiting thread isn't cluttered up again. The kid had a partial scholarship offer to WIU, which doesn't offer reciprocity to Minnesota students. His cost to attend WIU would have been somewhere between $22K-25K/year (depending on credit hours taken) to go to WIU before a partial scholarship. His cost to attend NDSU will be around $16K/year as a PWO and he has family ties to NDSU. Going to go out on a limb and guess the kid is coming out around the same on out of pocket and if he earns any sort of scholarship at NDSU over the next few years, he'll come out ahead.
  22. Title IX applies to stipends, you'll need a lot more on the women's side in your scenario.
  23. The best team in the conference couldn't play in the tournament and a waiver is needed to even have an autobid. Pump that moral victory against OSU though.
  24. Handful of bars around the arena, pre-game party is typically next door at the Mattress Factory. Their arena is huge (Creighton also plays basketball there). Don't think they've ever came close to selling out unless they have a bunch of the upper deck blocked off. Even then, can't see an issue getting a ticket. Old Market area is within walking distance to the arena and has a bunch of great restaurants and bars as well. Easily one of my favorite road trips and a pretty easy drive.
