  1. Come on now, it was 100. And they were split evenly between the Sioux Shop and Scheels. And they were only $30!
  2. Is attendance higher for games at the REA because they were at the REA or is it because they have historically played the more well known opponents there? Regardless, I can't see any way that the REA becomes more than a 1 or 2 times a year at most home for basketball. Way too much politics. I like the idea and the fact that people are looking for ways to improve attendance for men's basketball but until the Betty is busting out the seams, its pretty much a non-starter. And even then I'm really not sure it will gain much traction. And I agree with bincity, the Betty is a great atmosphere even when its 2/3's full, let alone at capacity. Won't argue that there are upgrades needed but atmosphere wise (not financially) a full Betty is much better than a 40-50% full REA.

    2015 season

Single game tickets usually go on sale around the beginning of August. There is occasionally tickets released once or twice during game week but those are usually returned allotments from the visiting team or the students and there likely won't be any coming back from either. Tickets will be hard to get and a lot of people will be left out, but I will say that in the past few years, there has not been a single game I have not been able to help some relatives get a ticket to, including playoffs. Haven't always been ideal seating, including SRO, but have never paid over face value. That being said, this game is a completely different animal as demand will be absurd from both sides instead of just the home team. UND's allotment is 500, which I believe is double what their opponents normally get. Good luck getting one of those.
  4. It's amazing how you keep ignoring what your main point was and the part you were blatantly wrong on. You said that Grand Forks domination would stop because of Fargo and they would be the dominant teams. That's not true in any shape or form.
  5. I get your point on NDSU but they are going to be on the home schedule every other year so its not like a one time thing like the Kansas game was.
  6. If you believe everything you read on a message board as gospel than the issue lies with you. And while it may have happened, can you name an instance where Faison allowed a coach to finish up their contract rather than being let go with a year or more remaining?
  7. You are the most vocal. And you seem to have no issue bringing my name up. So have you sent an e-mail and actually put your name to your demand that someone lose their job to someone who actually has the power to do something about it?
  8. I know this wasn't directed at me but I agree with you. My point was that there were plenty of things to criticize but the last possession isn't on the list.

    2015 season

Renewing my tickets and tailgating spots. Will be at all home games and down at the bread loaf pan to the south. Can't wait.
  10. Show me one place that I've enjoyed them or the results this season. Understanding and trying to explain why a coach isn't going to be fired isn't the same as supporting a coach, I'm sorry you are unable to recognize the difference. Still going to message board route of calling for someone's job anonymously and hoping someone sees it instead of manning up and sending an e-mail to someone who could actually do something and putting your name to it?
  11. Is this the new #butCIT? I've challenged people many times to voice their opinions to people who actually matter instead of complaining on a message board. I'll give credit to the few that do, but the large majority won't.
  12. Nothing new, just cherry picking what you said and leaving out the part where you were really wrong. You said the dominance and balance of power was going to shift to Fargo not that the field was going to be more level. Grand Forks has won 5 of the 10 titles since then, Fargo has won 2.
  13. You mean run the same play they did the possession before where Hooker got doubled and then forced into the corner and turned the ball over? Doesn't make sense to try that again when everyone in the building knew Hooker was going to take the last shot. The ball was inbounded at halfcourt, no one brought the ball up. To try to get Hooker open, they ran him off two screens through the middle lane. He got it, took a few dribbles and he absolutely beat his guy but the double team rotated over. Had that rotation not made it in time, that's the mid-range jumper he's been absolutely burying. His option was to swing it to Shanks, who didn't have an open shot on the defensive rotation and with de Rouen being the next option and was wide open in almost the exact spot he buried one a minute prior. I have no issues with arguing that either Tyler or Antwi be the guys to take the last shot over de Rouen but to claim they didn't run a play to get him open is off base. I can only imagine the (rightful) criticism is Jones would have called the same play that had led to a turnover the previous possession. Don't take this for supporting the whole game plan or anything else that happened, but the play Jones drew up for the final possession doesn't deserve criticism, especially when looking at the previous 39+ minutes.
  14. Don't care if it went in, terrible shot selection. That being said, feed off it.
  15. That sequence feels about right. Miss a layup on a fast break with a trailer, give up a dunk the other way and then miss another layup by a big man.
  16. And Omaha rattles 7 in a row to cut the lead back to two.
  17. Hooker is so good. Getting to the basket anytime he wants, hitting wide open guys and then gets an and-1 on a three pointer.
  18. Love to see a strong second half to finish the home schedule. Prefer not to rely on the point shots as much this half.
  19. As sad as it is, considering the city's loud party ordinance can be enforced at any time of the day anytime there are 2 or more people gathered together, I think there will be some sort of record set.
  20. "the university is still the university and they are still the same athletic teams on the ice, field, and court. It is still the Kelly Green and White we are all used to seeing every weekend, every game, every season. Just because there isn't a name or a logo anymore, doesn't mean the history and tradition of it is dead." But somehow when a new nickname and logo is picked, all of this will change? As has been stated many times, "University of North Dakota" has, is and always will be the one constant, not what follows it. Besides having some inaccuracies, the writer even tips his hand basically stating that no nickname allows Fighting Sioux to continue to live on. That façade will only play for so long.
  21. So what's the %gobc stance then?
  22. It was from an article in the Herald that is now behind their paywall. I believe it was a 2-1 and UNI is coming here this year but can't currently verify it. The number of money games was slightly higher this year due to the upcoming trip. Guessing they could have swapped at least 2 of them for home/homes. Guessing you'll still have 2 sub D-1 schools on the schedule just because they are cheap home games. But overall, I think its doable as I would think the xDSU's will remain in the home/home arrangement. Add USD and try to get some rotation of Drake/UNO/UNI/etc (though some may require a 2-1).
  23. Just to get it on record, what is the %gobc's stance on this particular matter?
  24. I like this guy. Actually has a sense of humor!
