Because Idalski seemed to think that the amount of required cuts announced and the number of what he thought his hockey budget was being nearly identical was nothing more than a coincidence. I do agree though, seems like a lot of entitlement on their part.

Why would the private schools want to give more power to the public/football playing schools?
-
I know that and you know that. That doesn't mean someone who has an agenda does (or cares). I think UND is more than covered if someone decides to take up the cause against them. Just pointing out that I wouldn't be floored if they found someone to take up their cause, facts be damned.
-
Did she mention if she has ever donated any money to UND to help pay for any upgrades?
-
I agree with you on all the facts. However I think you might be underestimating the thought process of some agenda-driven lawyers who will look at facts as mere minor nuisances in their rush to go after any University that dares to cut a women's sport. Title IX has enough grey areas that would lead someone to think there is a possibility of a winning lawsuit out there. I don't agree that there is, but I don't have an agenda clouding my judgement. From what has been made public, UND obviously is prepared for it and clearly someone has been feeding the narrative, which is further fueled by people's actual lack of understanding. Unfortunately the bad publicity and a waste of time and money would likely be an equal opportunity result, not just for whoever would file it, but also for UND. Chipman is also a pretty successful businessman. Being disappointed or displeased in a decision does not mean he doesn't understand the decision or even agree with it. But of course there is no context to what was said in the letter, leaving people open to spin it however they want.

What does that have to do with some of your fans showing their ndsu class and going after the kid after he talked about his experience?
-
To the surprise of no one, it looks like the "once a bison, always a bison" mantra has temporarily been suspended while they trash this kid for making his experience public.

He was at the spring game yesterday with a handful of players and his family and he didn't look too concerned.

$425k payout. Anyone know the buyout? -
Author addresses revenue brought in but then doesn't go the extra sentence to talk about Total Net Cost or Net Cost per Student athlete. Wonder why that might be? It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the Net Cost for football and WIH are almost the same even though football has over 4x the student-athletes and that net number excludes other revenue/donations the football team brings in would it?

Someone with 15 posts in 2-3 years and nothing that shows they have any credibility is where that came from? Classic and literally no surprise.
-
Big surprise, more hearsay and baseless accusations, little discussion of actual numbers or realistic solutions.

Being that the twins care so much about women's hockey (and formerly UND athletics), have they or anyone in their family ever been Champions Club members or donated back to the program in any monetary sense? Simple question.

That's the only real "gamble" I took with my predictions. They could, I just don't think they will and the "reasoning" will be that they haven't had anything on them for a few years now. -

Predictions: New logo replaces interlocking ND patch on shoulder. New font replaces old font on front of jersey. No logo on helmet. -

There is two guaranteed chances along with a possibility of a third so not a complete loss. One of them just won't be homecoming. -

Homecoming has already been set for Oct 7. I believe because of other events, they avoid putting it on a football/hockey doubleheader weekend. -
Who said that there isn't a staff in place or signed? I feel confident the team, recruits and anyone else who needs to know, has the knowledge they need.

You must not be counting how many fans were there, just how many seats they took up.

You mean he communicated the only two ways the media could find out through open record requests? Doubtful.

Kennedy absolutely killed it in this opinion piece. Something like this should have been put out two weeks ago. http://www.grandforksherald.com/opinion/op-ed-columns/4248122-und-president-college-sports-are-expensive-its-worth-it

Actually, if surveys said there was interest in women's hockey, I don't know how NDSU could defend not adding it with how far off their ratios are. Those surveys are literally what they base their entire Title IX compliance on. Now if you want to argue that the surveys will never suggest that, I could believe that.
-
Weird how Kolpack left out his own fact that NDSU uses more direct state appropriated funds. Also incredibly strange that neither the USA Today or EADA reports a show anything even close to those numbers for either school. But we'll never see the source data he used. NDSU also has to directly attribute student funds and contributions to their sports to get them to the level they are at. UND doesn't do either (outside of some small direct contributions).
-
He also thinks he can run a high end program for 2/3's of what he's has been running a slightly above average program at. So I apologize for being skeptical.
-
Clearly they are different allocations going on. Somehow NDSU shows $490K in revenue for women's basketball despite terrible attendance. UND is around $310K. Wonder what else they are dropping into the revenue side? The NDSU football revenue also includes $1.2 million in contributions that are somehow specifically allocated, whereas UND has minimal sport specific allocations.
