Basically what he said or your interpretation of it to make whatever point it is you are going for? Here is his actual quote: “What attracted me to the Big Sky was they play kind of run-and-gun,” Moody said. “If you can’t shoot, you’re not going to be successful, and that’s kind of how I’d like to play. UND and their system, it completely goes into my style.” Shocker that a kid who likes to shoot was attracted to an uptempo offense that will create open looks from behind the arc. UND's offensive sets are very similar to what SDSU runs. However they have the freedom to run in transition. That doesn't work as well when you have a bunch of new pieces that haven't played together and they can't hit shots. Stewart and Geno are still going through some growing pains at the guard spot. If they can figure it out, they are going to be very good. If not, this team will continue to struggle. Looks like some of the first is finally coming off Dale, so that's encouraging.

He didn't go anywhere, he just isn't playing. He's only 6'6" and not sure he has much of a post presence. A little surprised he didn't see a few minutes against NDSU with Seales out but I'll let the staff sort out minutes as they see fit.
-
Daum is absolutely terrific. Hoping Avants can draw a quick charge or two against him. I'm not sure UND has an answer for him, not that many mid-majors do.
-
Which is exactly what Wofford's average was on the year. Didn't watch the game, but their QB had pretty decent numbers for an option QB. The thing you can't do as a one-dimensional offense is get behind multiple scores because you turn the ball over 2 times in a matter of 4 minutes right in front of the opponents end zone.
-
That Georgia Southern bunch seemed to do pretty well being one-dimensional when they were in the FCS.

UND was close, needed one more shot to fall and couldn't get it. Missing Seales hurt big time in this one. His game is tough to defend and he's also good on the defensive end. I think having him back flips the results next month. I thought Walters and Brown filled in nice, Kinsey was a little disappointing. Was surprised Brown didn't take a few more 3's, he's got the skills to be the shooter UND is looking for. NDSU hasn't shot anywhere near close to that from the field or especially on 3's all year. Miller is good despite their fans hating on him, they are going to struggle without him next year. AJ finally hit some shots, he's been hampered, but still an all-around player. Flagrant on Stewart was a tough call, though unfortunately probably the right one. Richman not getting T'd up during the game was a bit of a stretch though. Reffing was what it was, UND's athleticism was the reason they spent half the game at the line. The free throw shooting was huge in this one.

Not possible to do in an NCAA sponsored playoff.

Another ndsu player suspended for violation of team rules....

But you would at minimum get the player's names right at better than a 50% rate.

That comment was more vague and not directed at you specifically. I've heard the argument for years how UND was behind it and from some of the previous posts, that thought is still going strong. I agree with your assessment that UND wouldn't have been supportive of it. I also agree that while it hurt NDSU, basing the entire lull (relatively speaking) that NDSU had on the scholarship reductions means they were only as successful as they were due to outspending everyone. Obviously some parity was expected to a point, but there were more than just scholarship reductions behind the change.
-
So NDSU lost their advantage to beat up on schools who couldn't offer as many scholarships (which is a group that didn't include UND) because they were now more competitive. I get that to a point but I have never understood the uproar from NDSU fans. They are basically admitting they couldn't win anymore because they couldn't outspending the bottom half of the NCC (not taking into account some "extras" they still managed to do) and somehow that is the reason for their downfall? The talent was spread out a little bit more, that is completely logical. But the argument basically means NDSU's only advantage was money because once that was reduced, they weren't as competitive. The fact that it somehow continues to be blamed on UND is pretty funny and unfounded from everything I've read, but facts aren't exactly required when trying to blame UND for another problem down south.

The amount of things wrong in this one.....

Huge surprise....

Not exactly breaking the bank, at least with his base salary. Would/will be interesting to see what the incentives are.

Wait, don't the top 7 or 8 teams in the MVFC make the playoffs?

Wait, I thought it was UND who was being accused of not paying their contractors.... http://www.inforum.com/news/education/4367284-contractor-submits-13-million-claim-against-ndsu-building-cost-overruns

Since your radar shows there will be 2 new western FBS conferences, which would be at least 16 teams and possibly 20, do you actually think the P5 will actually feel bad for the G5 teams and give them more money and/or a bigger pieces of crumbs? Or will they give them the same percentage that now gets to be spread out between around 33% more schools?

Considering it appears to be the best team Bubba's had so far and Montana couldn't get to .500 in conference, it sure seems would have been their best chance. Does Montana get carry-over points or something from previous years or something? Otherwise I can't figure out why they make such a difference.

Montana was 3-5 in conference last year. They played and beat 5 teams that were better than Montana. The EWU part has merit, the Montana thing does not.

Do you get bonus points for that? Or is a win still a win?

That's actually pretty funny since you were the one saying that there was absolutely zero possible way UND would be joining the Summit/MVFC while others (myself included) were telling you conversations had been going on for quite a while and it was going to happen sooner than later. Yet you still refused to believe it because you were convinced the other Dakota schools were joining the Big Sky to then move on to the WAC. Considering how accurate it has been lately, you might want to get it re-calibrated. It would take a shake-up at the P5/G5 level for something to be considered and a move at that point would be completely different than what you have been predicting for years now. There isn't enough benefit for the costs as it sits at this point. People haven't argued with the "why" UND can't go FBS, people have poked holes in your theories because they don't make sense, are presented as fact but based on pure speculation and the benefits aren't there. I've never once said it is impossible, though I've said it's illogical as things sit today. And exactly what exposure are those schools getting? I mean Coastal Carolina is absolutely killing it at the bottom of the Sunbelt with a whopping 2 wins on the year. When? Because as nice as it would be, those schools have no desire or benefit from looking that far east as things sit now.
-
That isn't a coincidence, largely due to some overlap in the people posting the theories.
-
I bet you'll see some overlap with the same theories you see here....

The MVFC and Big Sky challenge had nothing to do with the conferences other than them slapping their names on it after the fact. The games had been scheduled years before they came up with the "challenge". It's possible that the Summit and Big Sky leadership helped out a little bit with the basketball challenge, but.......why would these conferences support something that is supposedly a start to the end of one or both of them? Seems pretty asinine for the Big Sky and Summit to put their stamp of approval that would lead to their core schools in their conferences leaving. Now you understand how people feel when you put something down that looks like potato + apple = duck. I'm fully aware of the differences in the comparison and was making a point with my comparison. However if you substitute "guaranteed home games for teams that struggle to get them" for "major TV bucks", then the theory behind the challenges actually aren't all that different. The challenge has absolutely been blessed by the conference offices. Releases were sent out by both offices (links even provided below, try it sometime) and multiple public positive comments have been made by commissioners. To claim that it isn't supported is a flat out lie. http://www.valley-football.org/news/2017/8/14/football-mvfc-big-sky-announce-challenge-series.aspx http://bigskyconf.com/news/2017/8/14/big-sky-and-missouri-valley-football-announce-challenge-series.aspx Again, you present your theories as facts and refuse to take any criticism of that presentation, even when people who have more knowledge of situations than you explain why you are wrong. UND moving to the Summit/MVFC, which you claimed would never happen because the Big Sky was merging with the WAC, is a perfect example, even after people who knew it was in the works told you so. Creating a one-sport conference is not the same as creating an all-sports conference, particularly when auto-bids are concerned and would be absolutely necessary for almost every sport. Denver's reasons leaving the WAC were because the league completely turned over from when they joined to when they left outside of probably NMSU, and that wasn't for lack of trying. Denver already has what they need in the Summit: no requirement to add core sports and an autobid for what they have. I do want to state that I'm fully in support of a new conference that would include the Dakotas, Omaha, Denver, the Montanas, Idaho and then one or two other schools to get to the right numbers. However I also understand that the probability of it under the current NCAA model (P5/G5/FCS) mean it is very unlikely to happen, particularly because there is no real benefit to the western schools to take part in it.

But it's so much more fun to fly off the handle!! Team seemed disinterested in the game and coach was trying multiple different rotations, which is what games like this are for. Seales played a whopping 3 minutes. Hopefully it is out of their system because the next 4 games are the real deal: @Creighton, NDSU, @SDSU, @Gonzaga. Free throws should regress back to the mean at some point. Hopefully sooner than later. Geno and Avants* didn't have other D-1 offers either. Nor did guys like Troy Huff, Jamal Webb or Lenny Antwi. *Avants did have an Air Force offer but service academies are a whole different animal. He's got a lot of rust to knock off but he's been one of the two best rebounders for UND so far. He's also learning a new system on the fly.
