  1. But......you swore up and down UND would never join the Summit, even after people told you it was a done deal, because there was no doubt they were going FBS with the Big Sky.....
  2. One of the most purely talented players to ever wear a UND uniform. Too bad it's ending like this, which is even a bigger mess than a few months ago. Almost looks like him and Reyes had the same person giving them advice. Both some questionable decisions.
  3. NCAA covers all rounds of travel for the playoffs, which is part of the reason they regionalize and try to save themselves money. Each round has a minimum bid, which the host is responsible for if ticket sales fall short. The MEAC/SWAC conferences each get $1 million to split however among their 11/10 teams and at least one gives over half to the participant so the schools aren't exactly killing it unless they make the game. Those conferences participating in the playoffs is a net positive overall but "costs" because they were "losing" money participating in the playoffs isn't why they don't participate. It's been years since the SWAC participated (ever maybe?) and the MEAC dropped out when the Celebration Bowl started in 2015, likely since their teams weren't doing anything anyway and this was a better look.
  4. The NCAA covers all playoff travel/expenses.
  5. Fixed your post.
  6. I'm not sure the team even made the final decision. The staff needed to know what was going on so they could put together the best roster they could. Holding a scholarship for someone who has already told you (and very publicly, everyone else) that they were done at UND and on to bigger and better things isn't how you do that or help locker room chemistry.
  7. I've seen more Hawk's logos and merchandise at their stores than pretty much anywhere else in town outside of Scheels and the REA. Nice effort though.
  8. Good tradeoff it is accurate. USD/SDSU at home in the same year (first year of conference play) and NDSU rotating the other year.
  9. The Alerus Center dropped the ball on parking and tailgating in quite a few areas, but are easily fixable. They didn't have anyone out there directing people (and only a few people working the lots in general) and the students just set up where they were last year instead of where they were supposed to further to the east.
  10. In all seriousness, the push for HPC Phase 2 has already been moved to the front of the line. Kennedy is publicly stating to various groups it needs to get done ASAP, Chaves is echoing it at every chance. The push that is needed from the top will hopefully get this going very soon. My hope is with how publicly they are talking about it, a significant portion of funds are secured or at least pending.

They don't care at all. No seriously. You can tell by the numerous posts on various social media platforms and message boards stating how much they don't care....
  13. Wells fits into The Athletic's MSP vertical. Schlossman is kind of out on an island. Unless they picked him up for "general" college hockey, but I'm not sure if the demand is there for that. Maybe they could justify him in the MSP market as fans up here tend to be fans of those professional teams.
  14. Take your time, see what others have and go from there. Also, try to by higher quality stuff right away, otherwise you'll be replacing in short order (lesson learned).
  15. Here's what has been pieced together to date (that's an awesome link you had). Toss in a few non-counter games and maybe a tournament and it has be be getting close to done. 11/10 - @Milwaukee 11/27 - @Montana State 12/1 - Idaho 12/5 - @UT-RG 12/9 - Milwaukee 12/8 - @Marquette 12/28 - IPFW 1/3 - @ORU 1/5 - @Denver 1/10 - Omaha 1/12 - WIU 1/16 - SDSU 1/19 - @NDSU 1/23 - USD 1/31 - @WIU 2/3 - @ORU 2/6 - NDSU 2/9 - @SDSU 2/16 - ORU 2/23 - Denver 2/28 - @IPFW

How many decades has it been since UND's starting QB had a mustache like that? 3? 4?
  17. Playing them twice this season: @Milwaukee on 10/10 In Grand Forks on 12/9
  18. Milwaukee and Idaho are good home games. Nice to see.

Part of the reason Keaton's abilities weren't used to the max was because there wasn't anyone behind him ready to step in, which we saw in full effect when he did go out. Letting him roll out or run more just wasn't the smart thing to do. Obviously that leads to a debate about recruiting, but it is what it is.
  20. Well, I guess technically UND didn't have a women's head coach for 48 days or so since that was the amount of time between Martinson's contract expiring and Sunderman being hired. Guess a new angle will have to be found to overreact about.

I think the staff is comfortable with what they have at setter, though there might be some growing pains. I'd keep an eye on the UConn transfer, sounds like athletic ability is off the charts and will make some noise.

    2018 Season

I hope that joke never gets old. I think we can all agree the offense needs to show a bit more this year in terms of production and creativity. Keaton was a great game manager and did what he was asked, particuarly not turning the ball over. His replacements are going to add a spark to the offense, but we'll likely have to deal with a few more turnovers. If the defense stays healthy, I'm OK with that. However the majority of that will hinge on the OL coming together. Without that, playcalling will continue to be pretty straightforward and frustrating.

I mean, you have to take into account Brady started getting quite a few more carries as well. Yes, they absolutely need to find a way to get John the ball in space but you need to have confidence the QB actually has time to do that and I'm not sure that's been the case the last year or two. I keep reiterating there is plenty of room for improvement, but I don't think it is as bad as some people claim (or at least the numbers don't back that up) and I think it's closer to what Bubba wants than what some people are willing to admit. This team will live and die by the defense as long as he's head coach. If/when he does make a change, I agree with the earlier comment that I think the answer is already on staff. 2015: 223/1,459, 6.5 ypc (Brady - 60 carries) 2016: 183/983, 5.4 ypc (Brady - 168 carries) 2017: 119/717, 6.0 ypc (Brady - 111 carries, JJ 41 - carries) Also, he has to compete with Prothero for all-conference, so your comments on other Big Sky backs is void.

All-purpose player his junior year, return specialist his sophomore year and running back his freshman year. He's also been 3x first-team all-conference as a running back (along with first team return specialist his sophomore year).

    2018 Season

You don't think there was a reason for that.....? I get people's frustration with the offense, but it's a ball control offense that Bubba wants to play. He would have made a change if the OC wasn't following the game plan that's laid out. UND isn't supposed to have an explosive offense (though that's not saying there is not room for improvement). I've posted the comparison of stats from 2016 to 2017, as a whole, the offense wasn't the issue. Lack of depth (injuries and attrition) on the OL has been the biggest issue holding the offense back. Yet despite that, somehow UND has managed to simultaneously have a 3x All-American and 2x All-Conference running back so something has to be slightly working. For the record on where the offense actually ranks: 2017: 51/123 in yard/game and 56/123 in points/game in 2017 (should be 66/123, removing 4 defensive TD's) 2016: 53/122 in yards/game and 37/122 (should actually be 54/122, removing 5 defensive TD's) Conclusion: the offense is average. Hoping to see a bump this year, but will all depend on how the OL comes together.
