  1. Because it's an either/or proposition, both are after the same thing. UND chose to continue and expand their longstanding partnership with Altru (significant local presence), who donated $10 million at the time (turf and HPC) instead of taking money from Sanford (minimal local presence). Taking money from Sanford would have required severing ties with Altru. Sanford isn't going to donate money with no strings attached. NDSU faced the same situation and chose to go with Sanford, severing ties with longstanding partner Essentia.
  2. Likely going to be a decision that will have to be made by Midco due to logistics, unless they can find an easy way to stream WatchBigSky or Pluto.
  3. UND has turned down Sanford money in the past. The money would have to come with no strings attached and that isn't going to happen.
  4. They've already done it in 2018. The rhetoric was that UND didn't have Montana (or EWU) on their schedule. This year, now that UND has beat Montana, Montana is suddenly a bad team even though they are likely the same or slightly better than they were in 2016.
  5. Trying to figure out how your comment about the need to expedite Phase II ties into with where they are practicing when it has no relevance. The question about where they are practicing is relevant. Trying to tie that to the urgency placed on getting Phase II done isn't.
  6. I'm fine with that but my point is what any of that has to do with the timeline on Phase II of the HPC which is locker rooms, coaches offices, meeting rooms and S&C. The two things have nothing to do with each other.
  7. What does dilapidated locker rooms plus inadequate S&C/training facilitates, meeting rooms and coaches' offices have to do with whether the team is practicing indoor or outdoors?
  8. I also believe the stairs down to the field are right in front of that section, so it is probably a logistics thing to keep them there as well (though maybe they could put the stairs elsewhere?)
  9. I'd argue being able to offer seats between the 20's to a casual fan is much more enticing than only being able to offer end zone seats. Huge difference? Maybe, maybe not.
  10. I see NK making sure the team well aware that this one is personal to him.
  11. 4-2 Idaho State loses to #10 UC Davis in overtime (and FBS Cal) and they are actually behind UND by quite a bit points-wise.
  12. I'm curious how you look at the make up of "D1" hockey.....

    2018 Season

Not defending the poster you are referring to in any way, I've made my issues on his stances clear as well.
  14. The one to Toivonen two plays before that (called back, offensive holding) was a pretty damn nice pitch and catch as well. #11 made an amazing catch.
  15. You talk about history, yet you're the one who sees the hockey team standing on third base, assuming they hit a triple, while ignoring the $100+ million gift that they sit back on. With the nearly unlimited resources they have, some of the recent results are actually almost embarrassing. I say this as someone who has had season tickets for hockey for years and makes 1-2 road trips each season. Not sure if you are coming up with the most inflammatory things you can to rile people up or you actually believe it, but I hope it is the former.

    2018 Season

If you didn't overreact to almost everything, you wouldn't get called out on some of the ridiculously negative things you post. Most are. Please, join us in having a positive attitude and optimism towards a game played by 18-22 yr old kids.
  17. Grand Forks, Fargo, Minot, Bismarck and Sioux Falls were around double the normal price on Allegiant and they even released flights later than normal. They were well aware of what was going on.
  18. Interesting comment considering how many titles were won with the Brien logo.
  19. And 165lbs. Will be a fun guy to watch. It was interesting how he phrased some of his comments about the team this year compared to last. No doubt there will be growing pains but I'm thinking the locker room will be better overall and will hopefully translate into success later into the season.
  20. They sell merchandise to keep it current, which they do with the Dacotah Legacy collection. I'm not sure using it on warm-ups constitutes much "use" to that extent. While it would obviously generate a level of excitement among the crowd, frankly I'd be pretty disappointed if they came out with something that referenced the old name/logo unless it somehow incorporated all of them, including the current one. Even then, I'm not sure how that plays into the settlement because any newly created merchandise with the retired logos needs to have the Dacotah Legacy marks on them.
  21. What's funny is they knocked off UNI of the mighty MVFC in the opener. People are going to get dizzy trying to spin that result.
  22. This is not a knock on Jody at all, he does an absolutely amazing job, with a ton of it behind the scenes that most people never see or hear about and he gets no credit at all for most of it, but with the resources and amount of latitude the REA has, there's absolutely no reason that the REA shouldn't remain in the condition that is has. Hoping Jody stays around for a long time, he stepped in and has done a great job.
  23. And sometimes its the right choice. History is littered with plenty of both.
  24. Not much excuse for the 3rd quarter, which is an ongoing problem, but I'll give them a pass on the 1st quarter. UND started with an 8+ minute that ended in a field goal instead of a TD mainly due to a snap that went over NK's head on 1st and 10 from the 15. Second drive went nowhere. The third drive was derailed by a 15 yard OPI on JJ. The quarter ended with UND getting the ball back on the 8 from a muffed punt and followed up with a score a minute into the 2nd quarter. Not perfect, but a couple execution errors (bad snap, OPI) that things that are fixable.
  25. I think you're underestimating the new front office. Those guys aren't from "within" the organization.
