Arby's curly fries and regular McDonald's. Best fast food out there. Well aware, doesn't mean they don't taste good as hell.

Those fries though...

In the first half against UC Davic, the offense put up 312 yards of offense, averaged 9.75 yards/play and scored 17 points with TOP being 16-14 in favor of UND with one 3 and out (two for the whole game). How in the hell is it the offense's fault the defense gave up 38 points and 421 yards in one half??
-
2016: 9-3 The offense averaged 26.9 ppg (removing the 5 D/ST TD's), 386 yards/game and 5.5 yards/play. The defense gave up 22.0 ppg, 355 yards/game and 5.2 yards/play. 2017: 3-8 The offense averaged 23.0 ppg (removing the 4 D/ST TD's), 386 yards/game and 6.0 yards/play. The defense gave up 34.6 ppg, 453 yards/game and 6.1 yards/play. The offense scored 4 less points/game, had a better yards/play and averaged the same amount of yards/game yet the team won 6 fewer games. I know why the defensive numbers are what they are but to continue to blame the offense for the issues isn't the answer. With the style of football UND is built to play, anytime UND puts up 21 points or more, they should win and they lost 4 games hitting that benchmark last season. I'm not saying the offense can't be better but I don't think it is as far off from what it's supposed to be as some think nor is it even close to what the biggest issue has been.

Um, Fighting Hawks?

Going to be double whammy not being included in that coupled the guy in charge of UND Football media leaving. Hopefully they can get someone in there to help get some media out and build up some excitement.

President Kennedy Candidate for UCF President's Job

It's not my opinion, they literally have a strategic plan with a vision. https://www1.und.edu/strategic-planning/ http://blogs.und.edu/und-today/2018/01/masters-of-planning/ http://blogs.und.edu/und-today/category/strategic-plan/ It definitely isn't something they were hiding, they've been quite open and vocal about it.- 485 replies

President Kennedy Candidate for UCF President's Job

Agreed. The status quo was around for so long that people are absolutely frightened by the change and adding in budget cuts on top of it adds to that. Fact is, the status quo needed to change and it is. Someone actually came in and made some hard decisions that have been kicked down the road for too long. Some of them were forced (budget cuts), some of them were unpopular and it is possible that some of them might end up not being the right thing, but something needed to be done to get UND back on track. At least there is now a public vision to what the school is striving for and the leadership is embracing it.- 485 replies

Unlike some here, it looks like the Summit was impressed with the work UND's Associate Director of Media Relations did since they hired him immediately upon UND joining the league. Powell is a professional but it can't exactly hurt for UND to get some ties directly into the league office. Big shoes to fill at UND and not exactly ideal timing with football season right around the corner.

NCAA Finances - Schools Revenue / Expenses
jdub27 replied to BarnWinterSportsEngelstad's topic in NCAA News
Because women's hockey is still included in the numbers and at the time, UND was offering 4 more non-revenue sports than NDSU. -
Riviere is a big get. Gopherhole has him as the 13th rated prospect in Minnesota and he had interest from some big schools along with his offers from EMU and Air Force. Not to mention he's a legacy kid.

NCAA Finances - Schools Revenue / Expenses
jdub27 replied to BarnWinterSportsEngelstad's topic in NCAA News
It is available, however there is many millions that are allocated under "general" funds and even the numbers that are allocated to each sport are suspect at best as there is no exact science or method for collegiate athletics accounting. -

Assuming the current agreement was in place in 2006, which was after the Betty was built and has been stated hasn't been changed over the years, those number represent 52% of ticket revenues between 2006 and 2017. -

So the money that UND has paid to the REA has went from $1.7 million to nearly $2.4 million for ticket revenue only (completely excluding box office and other fees) and people are up in arms about Kennedy wanting to renegotiate the usage agreement..... -

You mean things like the former editor writing an opinion piece on how the SBoHE has a big decision on the fate of Kennedy and how they might not renew his contract only to watch them do so unanimously a week later? I guess I didn't manage a good-sized business for a Fortune 500 company for over 30 years, but seems like he was just a bit off his mark on that one...- 485 replies

Do you have a source for that? The news report of it directly contradicts that, including a comment from KEM.

You're dead on with your first two sentences and then off the rails after that. The ticket revenue is a completely separate line item than the box office services provided by the REA. UND paid an additional $247K to the REA outside of the 52% of ticket revenue for those other services provided. And neither of those include an additional $1.1 million paid for "utilities, maintenance staff, phone service and other expenses". I'm not sure what's so hard to comprehend some of this: The ticket revenue UND pays to the REA is the equivalent of "rent" for use of the REA/BESC. UND also makes separate payments for other services and expenses. Regardless of whether its all a shell game of some sort (with minimal oversight on one side the equation), the football team has nothing to do with the REA yet, 52% of their ticket revenues are directed towards "rent" for a building they don't use (again, a separate fee is paid for ticket services). When the original agreement was made, ticket revenues were significantly lower than they are today. On top of that, the athletic department has had to deal with significant budget cuts, yet the REA has managed to keep the same amount of revenue flowing in to them from UND, meaning that athletic department has had to cut extra from other areas to make up for not being able to do across the board cuts.

Kennedy just received a positive job review from his bosses, his job was never in danger despite what Mike Jacobs or those who happen to disagree with him might think. What exactly is it that you've been 100% right about? Definitely not your spelling.
-
The family does not own the building, a non-profit does. That nonprofit is setup specifically to benefit UND athletics.
-
None of that explains why football ticket revenue is going to the REA to support the building that the cash cow plays in.
-
The ticket revenue is completely separate from what UND pays the REA to handle ticket sales, which was $247K last year. It is also separate from the additional $1.1 million UND paid in "utilities, maintenance staff, phone service and other expenses". I don't think there's an issue with UND paying the REA to handle ticket sales. I don't think there's an issue with some ticket revenue (MIH, MBB, WBB and VB) going to the REA as it basically is equivalent to "rent", which has helped pay for the building of the Betty, and updates/maintenance to the REA/BESC (though the extra $1.1 million on top of 52% of ticket revenue is a bit curious). But why football ticket revenue continues to be included in the whole equation is beyond me. On top of that, UND is now using the REA less with WIH being cut, meaning the REA has more capacity to bring in outside events and their operation expense is less overall as there are 16-20 less events they have to staff for each year.

Nowhere did I say I felt sorry for her or even that I've agreed with some of her actions or comments. I specifically said that type of dialogue is not helpful, because it isn't. Continuing to push a narrative with unnecessary negative comments that do nothing but increase a divide (real or perceived) between either UND and a donor or within the athletic department does nothing to help UND in the long run.
-
Regardless of what "side" you are on, this type of commentary does absolutely nothing to help the situation.

The state is the one who requested the initial 30 year setup, not Ralph. He would have turned it over much sooner without that request.
