It might just be my opinion, but I think Heil might need 2 more years of development. Can’t see us bringing in a true freshman at goalie. So if there’s an underclassman goalie in the portal that’s capable of taking some starts for us, that would be my preference. Otherwise I’d recruit another goalie instead of continuing with the portal bandaids every year.

I was at the BU series. BU did most of their damage with Celebrini and Hutson on the ice. When they were off the ice, UND dominated them. But that’s how good those 2 players are.

I mean they did already beat BC this season so I wouldn’t say it’s out of the question.

I wouldn’t be opposed if we got a portal forward that could win faceoffs for us, since I think that area could use some improvement, but there’s probably not a ton of room up front to add one.

I’m with you. Unless they are absolutely convinced he can be an immediate contributor in the top 6, I would not bring him in. He would be better off after a year of juniors.

He did play on the Steel his first year with Jake Schmaltz. Jake went to Green Bay the following season.

I thought maybe it’d be hard to squeeze him in, depending on when he was wanting to come to school. After next season we will have 3 defenseman recruits that we could bring in but won’t have anyone who’s eligibility runs out, and with no obvious flight risks. I don’t know if UND recruited him but for D they may be looking further out at this point. I’ll be interested to see what D we recruit in the upcoming class.

It’s not really a defensive defenseman award at this point. Denver has 2 guys as finalists, one of whom is also nominated for offensive defenseman. They should just get rid of the award if they aren’t going to actually award defensive play. No player has won it with less than 13 points. It’s basically an award for a typical 2- way defenseman.

Meaning he’s not going back to high school hockey. Will play junior hockey next year.

Baxter Arena apparently doesn’t set aside seats for the visiting team’s players who are not playing to sit in. Everytime they sat somewhere some late arriving UNO fans would show up to their seats and they would have to move.

Yeah I’m not sure either. Im hoping he can come back for the NCAAs but I don’t know how long he is on crutches for.
