Yeah I’m not sure either. I think he was a first round pick in the OHL by London so the thought is that they think they can get him to London. But who knows if they will be successful on that.

I think with Moore there’s some chatter about him ending up in the OHL also.

I’d also be curious to know who would be next in line after Mooney as far as forwards go.

Grayden Slipec scored his first goal of the season in the Chicago Steel’s first game today. I don’t think he scored his first goal last year until a couple months in, so a much better start.

Don’t know if it’s fact or speculation, but I heard on a podcast after his decommit that chatter in the rinks was that he wanted to play closer to home. Not sure why he originally committed to BU in the first place though.

EP is not always up to date. They had Michael Emerson as committed to UMass last year when he committed to UND. So it happens.

It does. Apparently you can’t enter the portal after a certain date without a coaching change so it seems the coach on administrative leave is enough to qualify as a coaching change. Mike McMahon from CHN had this in his newsletter. Swankler is not one of the suspended players.

Well technically Cornell didn’t back out, it was just rescheduled for next season. But otherwise yes, you are correct. It was just an agreement for 2 games last year but so far no additional games against Lindenwood are announced.

We don’t have any games with Lindenwood lined up right now so it’s not really possible to replace them.

To be fair, most people missed on UND last year. I think we were pre-ranked nationally in the top 5. Duluth was pre-ranked really high too so people missed on them too.

Did you see the Western Michigan player who did the Twitter/X takeover at media day yesterday? He was asked about the preseason poll and he said he was “kinda pissed off about it.” UNO and Western Michigan just seem to need some validation for whatever reason.

Not sure when the podcast was recorded and when UND updated bio’s, but Zmolek’s bio on the UND website literally says he missed all last season due to injury. I’m not sure how they don’t know this. It is well documented - I even knew prior to his transfer.

I don’t care if opposing fans want to talk crap about UND, but it’d be great if they weren’t clueless while doing it.

I panicked about this for like a day and then when I really thought about it more I decided it was the best thing that could’ve happened to this team.

I mean it is their entire personality outside of complaining about UND even when it has nothing to do with UND. A couple weeks ago they were complaining about UND while discussing a Huskers volleyball game.

Lol that was my first thought. But he did post his ballot. I believe he had UMD at 3 and UND at 5. Another Duluth media guy, Matt Wellens, had UND at 2 and UMD at 5. So more evidence of mixed opinions on teams in this league lol.

Yeah I think opinions on UND are pretty mixed. But I’d say the same for most teams in our league considering the top 5 teams in the poll all had at least one first place vote.

I am guessing we were voted that high because our group of forwards in comparison to those ranked behind us, were just significantly better on paper than other forward groups, to the point that it outweighed the lack of returners on D. (Like Western lost their entire top line, SCSU lost some producers up front also.)

They had to stop doing that due to them currently having a 25 year old Canadian goalie.

He’s playing at Shattuck I believe. Some were saying Green Bay in the USHL but I think that’s after he’s done at Shattuck.
