  1. I have a kind of related question... Does anyone know if the Icebreaker or GLI tournament will be televised on satellite television? My parents have satellite, and if they will be televised, i'd like to plan visits to the rents accordingly....lol...
  2. I completely agree! I think we are sitting pretty good, and I feel good about the team we are attacking with this year. Oh, and I think Trupp is going to come out blazing... i only think we saw a tiny glimpse of what he's capable of. All that said, I'm super excited and wish hockey season would hurry up and get here already!
  3. Not every series does, but there's more so this year, at least in my opinion when i looked at the schedule. Every series is important, but the gopher series is a huge rivalry and everyone goes crazy for tickets every year they come here. I had a good 15 offers for my tickets last season. so i wouldn't say we don't care about the other series, but you really can't argue on the hype about the gopher series.
  4. What's really lame about the whole students not getting tickets to the gopher series is the fact that the series is the weekend before we are back in school, so most of the students will likely already be in town. So i think they should just give them to us. but personally, i never leave (lol) so i'm pretty pissed about not getting tickets to the game, it's the biggest game of the year at home no question! but whatev i'll still be there whether I have to buy regular gen admission seats or not.
  5. my friend in high school's last name was gregoire, and we pronounced it greg-wire. so thats a possibility.
  6. I think so ... i have a good feeling. p.s-- i also still maintain my theory the gophers will not finish ahead of us.
  7. personally, i don't see the gophers finishing ahead of UND. i haven't been too impressed with their returning players aside from kangas. i'd go with both CC and DU ahead of UND before the gophers, but i guess we'll have to wait until the season starts to know for sure.
  8. i believe the puck drops in approximately 117 days! (yes i have no life as I'm counting down...in my spare time)
  9. i'm 100 %! i thought t.j. and taylor would leave and duncan, kozek and finley would be back. it's gotta be a gift. lol.
  10. While I understand your argument here, I really find no need to knock on Chay. Maybe he's not as seasoned on defense as Joe, but he played forward for a bit to help the team out where they needed it. Maybe he's had some off games, we all know Joe has... but I'd rather have that experience there than not, especially with the goaltending issues for next season. That being said, Welcome back Joe!
  11. I might agree with this statement. only bigger than HUGE...
  12. I completely agree. He needs to do what he wants to do, and best of luck in whatever that is. We need players who really want to be here.
  13. Where did you find this out? All I'm seeing is that he decided to attend the Oilers prospect camp. While it wouldn't surprise me if he signed a contract, I don't see the confirmation. There was an interesting article in the Edmonton Journal about Chorney and comparing it the the Wheeler situation and it comments how badly contract talks are going. Interesting stuff...
  14. The X Factor : That would be us! Fighting Sioux Fans! The best there is.
  15. When you put the words you did in caps, to me it sounds mildly insulting. He was considered a risk to leave, and many thought he would as he did receive interest as a free agent. And when a guy like Ryan Duncan says he's coming back, I'll believe him. Maybe you didn't mean it to sound insulting, but that's how it came across. Oh, and I'm not saying you don't know anything, as I'm sure you do...just stating a personal opinion.
  16. this literally made my day! Even though, I kind of speculated since the end of the season that he would be one of the ones to come back, yet no one believed me. Ha!
  17. since my car broke down on my way home from GF, do you think oshie would mind using his signing bonus to buy me a new one? LOL...KIDDING! seriously though, i knew this was coming, but it still sucks. It definitely won't be the same without him next year. But, I wish him the best of luck. It's been quite the ride.
  18. Just a side note, but I was working at Target today and a guy wearing a WCHA OFFICIATING STAFF sweatshirt came through my checklane. So, I'd assume he's a ref. He wasn't very friendly. I thought about commenting about it, but he looked like a crab ass so I kept my thoughts to myself.
  19. and now i don't have to write the sabres an email! good riddance gerbe...
  20. gosh i hope so! I'd be willing to send a convincing email if i have to! lol
  21. Personally, I find it somewhat ridiculous that in justifying UND's #7 they comment on losing oshie/chorney/duncan/finley, etc.... the impact there, basically assuming they're probably gone. Yet, they seem to, in my opinion, when justifying BC's #1 assume Gerbe will be back, when he could very well leave early as well. Because honestly, if Gerbe's gone, there's no way BC is a #1 team. But a #7 is fine... it'll allow us to sneak in under the radar...lol.
  22. clearly... we're all procrastinating on papers. Only, my first one isn't due til friday and my second one on monday. I'd rather waste my time on here:) there's very valuable information.
  23. Finley coming back would be huge. He might not be everyone's favorite guy, but his experience in the defensive corps would be extremely beneficial. I have heard he's one of the more likely guys to return, as well as duncan. i heard a lot of things in denver about guys coming back/not coming back. we'll see what pans out in the coming weeks I suppose.
  24. Quality Inn was TERRIBLE. probably the second worst part of my trip to denver. I loved this one: checking out after I had given him my credit card he gave me a sheet of paper that said what I owed. (a bill) only there was no signature line or anything so I assumed he was printing off a copy for me to sign. So I proceed to stand there a good few minutes when finally he's like, "will you sign that?" i just looked at him with this are you effin' kidding me? look. seriously... that was ridiculous if you want something signed that doesn't have a line that says signature... you should at least tell them to sign the bottom of the sheet. (sorry had to vent)... additionally, we had no towels, and no remote for a tv that turned on with the maximum volume blaring. Also, the maid service came to our room at 11:30 at night... and wouldn't make the beds if we left "personal belongings" on it... meaning if you left a pillow of your own on the bed it would stay unmade. that hotel was terrible. i'm glad I didn't spend much time there.
  25. Considering the sioux game on thursday, I can honestly say the overwhelming support by sioux fans for the irish was probably the best part of the frozen four. I sat in 200 level seats directly above the sioux crew seats and everyone in my section loved our fans and how many of us stuck around even though the sioux lost out. I can honestly say I would cheer for the Irish again, as long as they're not playing us. lol. I gained a lot of respect for their team and their program, and I may have started cheering for them b/c i despise BC, but it was a fun game to witness, and be at, and I went home glad I went to my first frozen four, despite the outcome. p.s-- i definitely would love to see notre dame at the ralph.
